Twenty-six people from 10 families were evacuated to Al-Ghufron Mosque in Manjoi after floodwaters submerged their homes in Kampung Manjoi and Kampung Tengku Hussein on Monday night (Feb 16).

00:0826 residents were evacuated to safety last night after flash floods hit parts of Ipoh,
00:14submerging homes in two kampungs. Heavy rains pounding Ipoh for nearly two hours on Monday
00:20evening led to flash flooding across several areas, including the city centre, Tawas, Kepayang,
00:27and Manjoy. According to the Kinta District Civil Defence Force, nine families were affected in
00:34Kampung Manjoy, while one family of four was displaced in Kampung Tenku Hussein. All 26 evacuees
00:41have been sheltered at the Al-Ghufran Mosque in Manjoy as a precautionary measure while they wait
00:47for floodwaters to recede. A spokesperson from the District Operations Control Centre said no
00:53temporary relief centre has been opened yet as the number of victims remains small and the flood
00:58situation is under control. However, authorities are continuing to monitor water levels closely
01:09and are prepared to take swift action if needed.
