00:54so much to discuss between the new season and also the reunion um so to start was there anything from
01:01the season that you were really looking forward to having the chance to discuss in the reunion
01:05no no did you re-watch the season like do you sit and watch
01:14well i get sent like a screener i guess you'd call it maybe about a week before the season
01:21and then that's the first time i watch it usually the only time yeah and so and do you just like sit
01:27do you have just like a moment by yourself and do it or do you have oh sometimes i'll meet up with the
01:33yeah i'll meet up with the ladies sometimes we'll like you know we'll go to someone's house and
01:37and watch it together or we'll watch a couple i think what was it this time i think uh oh yeah
01:43this time we were all on our way down to not all of us but like myself and romania my brother and i
01:49think a couple others and we just put it on in the sprinter van every time we were in the van we would
01:55watch an episode and by the time the weekend was over we had like got through most of it
02:00mm-hmm so it's kind of nice to have that like commentary with some other people are who are
02:05on it react together yeah it's always fun to hear what other people think and um and i just think it's
02:11fun because you laugh with everyone and uh you don't take it as seriously so and i i love the feedback
02:17i love wanting to know like what everyone thinks of the of the season definitely um well i loved the
02:24season just saying um well so i also wanted to ask you know you really stand out to me as such a
02:30good businessman and a good leader within the brokerage because and i i know that you you have
02:37to be um but it really seems like you balance the drama you stay out of it unless you really need
02:43to get involved how do you handle that balance of the personal relationships and the business
02:49you know i'm just not as reactive as i used to be about things you know things that i used to think
02:57were a big deal i just kind of realize aren't maybe that's just you know maturity or age i'm hoping it's
03:03maturity um but i just i don't know i don't let things get under my skin anymore really um not to say
03:09nothing does but um i'm less easily bothered take things less seriously i feel like everything
03:16generally resolves itself and also when you look back at something a month later 99.9 percent of the
03:23time you realize it wasn't that big of a deal even though it felt like a big deal in the moment so
03:26i think i'm just more chill and not i try to just diffuse things these days and and let people know that
03:36it's just not that big of a deal when do you know to get involved like when is there like a line
03:45yeah business here let me turn this over if it's uh kind of business related then i get involved
03:53if it's just personal related i i will if it's you know someone close to me like um but generally
04:02i will only feel like i have a responsibility to get involved if it relates to the business
04:07definitely and you definitely did when um there was a situation between emma and christine and
04:14she revealed that christine possibly tried paying off her client looking back at that situation how
04:19do you feel like you handled it
04:21uh well i mean i think i addressed it with everyone i still haven't really uh been able to
04:29address it with christine but you know i mean i think it worked itself out i think that's another
04:35example where just you know things generally work themselves out you know it feels like a crisis
04:41but it works itself out and when when you watch the season back obviously the office dynamic does
04:48seem to be a little you know everyone versus christine when you watch that do things shock you
04:55or do you just you know throw your hands up and you're like those are the personalities and this is
05:01my business yeah i i don't again get involved too much in that i have my own relationship with
05:08christine and i understand that there are a lot of dynamics going on between her and the other
05:12women but i i i'm not usually around when they're filming you know if you notice like i'm not really
05:17so it's not something that really affects me on a day-to-day um i'm just usually it's not usually
05:25something that's going on in the office i'm usually in the office so yeah you're you're doing the work
05:30um which is so fun yeah yeah i'm in the office yeah and you also were opening um the oc office
05:43um which is coming up the spinoff selling the oc um and that's going to be such a fun one how um do
05:51these houses and will these houses differ from what we're seeing on sunset yeah they're different homes
05:58because newport and and you know kind of that orange county area that we where we're filming
06:02corner del mar newport beach huntington uh all that they're really on the water so they've got
06:08these harbors and docks and boats it's just a very much like a boat life down there um and the houses
06:15are extremely expensive they actually sell for a higher price per square foot down there than they do
06:19in la which is just astounding to me but it is a beautiful area so um i would say that's the biggest
06:27there's you don't really find like the these cold contemporaries that you find in la it's more
06:33like the cape cods traditionals beach homes which so it's a cool juxtaposition and again they're very
06:39much you know the proximity to the water is a huge thing whereas in la it's it's really more about a
06:44view and not so much about being on the water um i love it though because it's a kind of just an
06:48interesting change from what i'm used to i'm headed down there you know one or two days a week and
06:53i've got a i bought a couple homes down there and i just really like it down there actually it's just
06:58a great kind of respite and escape from la it totally is my brother is down in newport beach um
07:05and i got to go visit for the first time and it is amazing that lito area and uh corona del mar it's
07:12beautiful i love that um now what kind of sorry oh i was saying i like i like going down there and
07:23working out of that office you know it's a really fun group of agents um it's just nice to kind of
07:28have a different atmosphere and i've got a couple really close friends that work at the office and uh
07:34it's i love it i really do feel like i used to like want to go to malibu you know as like a second
07:39home but newport's 20 minutes farther and it's got everything so it's kind of my it's now like my
07:46second home my little vacation home or my weekend home i love it it's so beautiful down there
07:51would the agents that you hire to sell down in the oc do they need anything different than the agents
08:00that you have selling sunset like is there a kind of a different mindset when it comes to selling the
08:05newport homes i wouldn't say the homes are different but i would say that there's many of
08:11the the women here are more experienced than many of the agents down in oc so you know it's a kind of
08:18a fresh start in terms of training everyone and getting them experienced so i almost feel like it's kind
08:24of where where the oppenheim group la office was maybe you know five or seven years ago uh so it's it's a
08:32it's it's a new start but that's that's cool you know i mean i i'm up for a new job i really enjoy
08:38the agents a lot uh so it's kind of it's fun to go down there and you know we're doing like team
08:43meetings and a lot of the things that we were doing here in la like just training and explanation of
08:49things but it's fun good and i like the new market i mean it's it's almost like i'm starting over
08:55exactly and that'll be really fun to watch too and the market is so crazy right now i'm sure
09:02just well and agents really are um a dynamic group so i am actually so excited about what i think that
09:11show is going to absolutely crush it i'm super i could not be more excited about that show would you
09:17ever hire a man to work also at the the sunset office would that change oh i have men at the
09:27sunset boulevard office they just uh aren't on the show aren't on the show probably i think the oc office
09:35is probably 50 50 i mean i don't actually know but it feels kind of like you know yeah here more women
09:41than men but there are certainly men that work at the la office okay cool cool um yeah we just don't
09:47get to see them i guess um yeah so now obviously i i do have to ask we'll get into um a little bit
09:56about the reunion and just some reflection on your relationship with chrishell that we saw throughout
10:00this season um there was that never most foreseen clip of your conversation with mary where you
10:05confided in her that you were really struggling post split um how are you feeling now
10:13uh i'm okay i have to say that that reunion was uh provided a bit of you know
10:21a little it was cathartic in a way and i think it helpful um certainly wasn't i wasn't looking forward
10:30to it but afterwards i felt better and i and i and i still feel better and chrishell and i are in
10:35a great place um with each other and i'm really 100 and fully supportive of her relationship and
10:43you know i want her happy and she wants me happy and i feel like we're in a good place and i feel
10:48like i'm in a good place um did you ever have a change of heart at all or was it just two things
10:57true at the same time you didn't want to be a dad and you loved her and just it couldn't work
11:03i think that the latter is more is probably a more accurate explanation of it i mean i've
11:10commented on it before i mean i don't think anything is black and white ever in this type
11:17of thing but yeah i mean i think it's generally known you know the situation is generally known
11:22um are you dating at all right now i'm not in any i don't have any intentions of uh of getting into
11:33any relationship anytime soon but you know i'm i'm having fun you know i don't certainly don't
11:39anyone's sympathy i mean i'm doing fine good good you look like you're doing fine and we're definitely
11:45so excited for the the oc to come out and see you and your agents in action um and can you tease
11:52anything about another season possibly of selling sunset well that's up to netflix to confirm but
11:59i mean i think i think that logically i would i don't think it would be dangerous to anticipate
12:06that we're going to be filming more seasons yeah but something that netflix you know this netflix
12:11decision and i'm sure that they'll um figure all that out and announce something but yeah that's up
12:18i don't want to speak for them yeah you know future seasons i'm sure everyone does yes
12:24with them too i i think that we we enjoy being on that platform um and yeah and there's good people
12:34there so i just think it hasn't gotten there yet uh i think they all they wait for data and i'm sure
12:39we'll have those conversations soon though yeah and it's obviously such a fan favorite show you have a
12:44huge following um and so many fans so it's definitely a no-brainer well i'm definitely
12:50hoping yeah right now i'm aware i think netflix is pushing us for for emmy consideration so that
12:56would be really exciting to get nominated and potentially even win so that i think that's uh
13:01that's going to be a fun couple months to watch that absolutely and you did welcome a new broker
13:07to the firm this season with chelsea how would you say that she you know kind of brought like a new
13:13personality and flair to the brokerage that maybe you guys needed i mean chelsea's been
13:18amazing i mean really amazing and she just brought a 22 million dollar listing to the table uh i think
13:26last week so she's doing great i get along with her really well um and she's got a lot of energy and
13:32she's dynamic so i think she was just an excellent addition to the oppenheim group and also to the show
13:37mm-hmm and there's so many tiktoks and posts that i see of people being like jason hire me i'm this i'm
13:46that i'm here i'm there what does it take to be a member of the oppenheim group what what do people
13:53need to do uh it's impossible because i don't think i'm hiring anyone i mean i i don't watch tiktok or
14:03whatever other platform you just mentioned but i appreciate that they're out there and we obviously
14:08get you know a lot of resumes or whatever emails but um no it's i don't encourage people to apply
14:16because we're not really i'm not trying to expand this office you know and i'm and it's certainly but
14:23so yeah it's not even worth commenting not even worth talking about yeah i mean maybe i like one
14:28person a year and i get like you know thousands of applications so don't don't apply please
14:33don't even try all right noted um awesome well jason what else is coming up for you anything that
14:40you wanted to talk about i know that you're super into fitness you're working out a bunch any any um
14:45recs for people getting getting in shape for summer i wish that i had a better workout routine i
14:51probably go when i go to the gym which is our office is like 50 feet from equinox so it's so
14:59easy to walk over there and get but i only go for like 25 minutes it's almost embarrassing how quickly
15:04i work out it works well i mean at least my dad's genetics yeah yeah i do several times but it's just
