00:00Tell me a little bit about why VCRF is so important to you and just why being here tonight is so special.
00:06Well, this is an event we do annually to raise funds and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
00:13And I've been part of the fundraising for 27 years.
00:18And it's been really tough not being here for the last two years.
00:22So we did it virtually.
00:23So being here in person tonight to be able to reconnect to the unbelievably generous people out in that room who give year after year after year to this cause is really a very wonderful thing.
00:33And, you know, to me, breast cancer is something which, you know, has to end.
00:37It's time to end breast cancer.
00:39And the more money we raise for research will really get to that finished post faster.
00:45Absolutely.
00:46Now, you look so amazing.
00:48Tell me your advice for women, you know, in their 40s, 50s who want to live freely, want to live like you.
00:55I mean, what would you say to them?
00:57Well, from a beauty point of view, I would say moisturize.
01:01I love that.
01:02A lot.
01:04Moisturize, eye creams, hand creams, body cream.
01:07Our skin gets drier as we get older.
01:09And it's very important to stay hydrated on the outside and, of course, the inside.
01:13You have to drink a lot of water and probably don't really drink much alcohol.
01:16I've virtually given it up completely.
01:18I may have one sip tonight because one of our big benefactors owns a fantastic winery.
01:24Actually, he owns seven in British Columbia.
01:26So I may have a sip, but I don't really drink much alcohol now.
01:29And I try to get fresh air.
01:30I think fresh air is one of the most important things you can do at any age.
01:33And you and your son have such a beautiful relationship.
01:36Tell me a little bit about just watching him grow.
01:39Is he going to get into the industry?
01:40Is he following in your footsteps?
01:42Well, he's just made his first short movie, and he loves my business.
01:45He's only 20, but he's, you know, he's a wonderful, for me, of course, he's my baby.
01:52He's actually a grown-up, a six-foot-two grown-up.
01:54But, yeah, he's a wonderful boy.
01:57And it was actually great, I think, for parents to have their kids at home for an extra two years.
02:00They might not have liked it, but the parents did.
02:02So I appreciated that time with him.
02:05And, yeah, he's a great boy.
