00:00The European Union approved on Monday a major overhaul of its migration policy.

00:08The bloc decided on draft legislation that would notably introduce several measures

00:13meant to increase the speed of deportations of rejected asylum seekers.

00:19The pact is again part of the turning point of the migration and asylum policy.

00:26So I do hope that the member states agree today because it is important to give the people also the feeling back

00:33that we have control over what is happening.

00:35It is everything about bringing our European house in order and today we are taking the next very important steps.

00:43The EU has notably agreed to increase deportations with the return of centres for irregular migration.

00:50Called migrant hubs, these centres could either work as places of transit

00:56or function as longer term places for asylum seekers to stay.
