00:51Hello and welcome to From the South.
00:52My name is Belen de los Santos, I'm from the Telesor Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:56We begin with the news.
00:59We were saying at the beginning, Venezuela is taking steps towards national productive self-sufficiency
01:14through an alliance between the communes, the entrepreneurs and the state.
01:18More information on this, during recent statements, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the progress
01:23of the country's current economic framework, calling it an indestructible alliance between
01:28the people, the entrepreneurs and the state.
01:31In this regard, Nicolás Maduro made a special mention of the sustained growth of the communal
01:36economy as a transformative access of the new productive model and also emphasized the efforts
01:43of the National Council of Economics, which has made the country less dependent on oil and
01:49more empowered in its productive capacity.
01:52President Maduro further praised the national business community and the good relationship
01:59with strategic sectors as key factors in advancing towards the self-sufficiency in terms of production
02:05in the country.
02:07We have found the way.
02:17We stopped thinking with the old dependent, rentier, oil-based mentality, and started thinking
02:22about productive capacity.
02:24We founded the National Council of Economics and have consolidated an indestructible alliance
02:30between Venezuela's private business sector, entrepreneurs of all sizes, and the Bolivarian government,
02:36the Venezuelan state.
02:37Today, I have more confidence than ever in the business community across all sectors for the development
02:43of the automotive industry, agro-industry, and food production, but we are also setting great goals
02:52to produce everything in Venezuela, and alongside that, the emergence of a secret weapon.
03:03We have, the communal economy, is growing and will change everything.
03:08It's about making every plot, every farm, every space, every neighborhood, and every community
03:14productive, producing what can be produced, and we are on that wonderful path towards a new economy.
03:24And we go now to Honduras as the Liberty and Refundation, the Libre Party, reiterated its request
03:30for the annulment of the presidential elections that were held on November 30th following allegations
03:36of electoral fraud perpetrated by the Honduran two-party system
03:40with the support and interference of the United States.
03:43At a press conference called by the Libre Party, presidential candidate Elixi Moncada
03:48stated that she does not recognize the election results
03:52after irregularities in the electoral transmission system confirmed the occurrence of fraud.
03:59Moncada also reiterated her denunciation of Donald Trump's external interference in the democratic process
04:06and condemned the pardon granted by the U.S. head of state to the former Honduran president,
04:12Juan Orlando Hernandez, who had been convicted in Washington for drug trafficking,
04:18demanding that legal proceedings be taken against the former Honduran leader.
04:24And in this regard, the Libre Party filed a complaint against Donald Trump for interference.
04:39Condenamos la injerencia y coacción.
04:42We condemn the interference and coercion of United States President Donald Trump in the Honduran elections.
04:51We condemn the pardon of drug trafficker Juan Orlando Hernandez, granted by President Donald Trump
04:57in the midst of the Honduran electoral process.
05:01We order that President Donald Trump's foreign interference and crime of treason be denounced
05:15by supplanting and adulterating the sovereignty of the people before the UN, OAS, CLAC, and others.
05:24We continue on topic. The presidential candidate for the Libre Party, Richie Moncada, also stated that she does not recognize
05:36the election results of November 30th and denounced the interference of Washington in the ongoing electoral coup.
05:43National coordination with the Libre Party in defense of democracy before the Honduran people,
06:01our combative militancy, and the national and international community.

06:47that if they vote for Richie
06:49they will not receive remittances in December
06:53adulterating the sovereignty of the people
06:57And in this regard the candidate also denounced the manipulation of the election transmission system
07:07and the violation of security protocols
07:11on December 6th
07:21it was demonstrated
07:23in the plenary session
07:25of the National Electoral Council
07:27that the TREP transmission system

12:19after human remains
12:21washed up on the country's
12:23northern coast
12:24the president drew attention
12:25to the possibility
12:26that these are victims
12:28of the United States
12:29lethal and illegal attacks
12:31in the Caribbean and the Pacific
12:33in this context
12:34the Colombian president
12:35requested that forensic procedures
12:37be initiated to identify the bodies
12:39and obtain all pathological information
12:43to determine the causes of death
12:46in this regard
12:47Petro said that he would contact
12:49the Venezuelan prosecutor's office
12:51to coordinate these efforts
12:53as the bodies were found on a coast
12:55near the Bolivarian nation
12:57the victims were discovered
12:59hours after the United States
13:01Secretary of War
13:03Pete Hexat confirmed a new strike
13:05on an alleged drug carrying vessel
13:07despite ongoing denunciations
13:10on the illegality of these extrajudicial executions
13:19In the United States
13:21Immigration and Customs Enforcement
13:22has arrested nearly 75,000 individuals
13:25with no criminal records
13:27since the beginning of Donald Trump's presidency
13:29the figures of individuals
13:31without criminal records
13:33who have been detained
13:34shared by the deportation data
13:36project at the University of California
13:38and Berkeley
13:39contradict the rhetoric
13:41of the U.S. president
13:43who criminalizes the migrant community
13:45by justifying their persecution
13:47with the alleged capture of murderers
13:50and gang members
13:51These numbers reveal the discriminatory nature
13:54of these mass raids
13:56in which thousands of Latin Americans
13:58have been detained authoritatively
14:00and without any legal mediation
14:03since Trump's arrival at the White House
14:07he has launched an assault on the migrant community
14:10harshly tightening national immigration laws
14:14as part of the racist policies implemented
14:17by his administration
14:19and we now move on to other topics
14:28Russia is promoting various academic
14:30and civil society initiatives
14:32in response to the current international context
14:35with the Knowledge Diplomacy Center standing out
14:38This platform aims to be a cooperation bridge
14:40with the BRICS countries
14:42and the Commonwealth Independent of States
14:44focusing on engaging new generations
14:47in building a shared future
14:49through the exchange of ideas
14:50and innovative solutions
14:52Founded in 2021
14:57the Knowledge Diplomacy Center
14:59of the Russian State University for the Humanities
15:01promotes the exchange of knowledge
15:03between Russia and allied countries
15:05and allied countries
15:06This project strengthens ties with BRICS institutions
15:09through research, media production
15:11and academic dialogue
15:13aiming to build a multipolar world
15:16Multipolarity is when there are many points of support in the world
15:21and how these are formed through knowledge
15:23The more we know about each other
15:25the more possibilities we have to support each other
15:28This is precisely what our center contributes to
15:31When we talk about knowledge diplomacy
15:33we also start from the idea that our dialogue develops
15:36not only at the level of countries or individuals
15:39but also at the level of civilization
15:41Therefore, it is necessary to study civilizations as phenomena
15:45analyze their development, study their formation
15:48and how they reach their maximum potential
15:52Its activities include research, digital platforms
15:59and the production of educational material
16:02along with consultancy and training programs
16:05on grants to strengthen academic, scientific
16:08and international dialogue development
16:10among the participating nations
16:12Last year, we conducted the largest study among young people in the BRICS countries
16:19and among the top three most sought-after areas for cooperation
16:23young people specifically pointed to educational and cultural exchanges
16:27This is because, unfortunately, we know little about each other
16:31and lack sufficient common sources of information
16:33that reflect life in the BRICS countries
16:35from the perspective of the people in those countries themselves
16:37One of its main foundations is futuristic initiatives and scientific diplomacy
16:48A particularly notable project is the School of Young Futurists
16:52which aims to align visions among emerging leaders of the BRICS countries
16:56This program culminates in the signing of a youth charter
17:00that sets out cooperation principles for the next five years
17:04focused on equitable dialogue
17:06The need for futurists, both trained specialists
17:11and those responsible for the image of the future
17:13is becoming increasingly evident
17:15Today, we are addressing the issue of how to view our common future
17:19with everyone in a technological way
17:21we are at a certain peak
17:23shaped by information technologies, supercomputers, and analysis models
17:28The Knowledge Diplomacy Center, as an innovative model in international relations
17:38shifts the focus of action from foreign ministries to laboratories, classrooms, and debates among young people
17:45It weaves relationships between civil societies
17:48through the practice and actions of those seeking to define, from diversity
17:52the parameters of the future of our world
17:55based on integrity, respect, and joint work
17:59We have a second short break coming up now

20:18constitute interference in the country's internal affairs and a violation of its sovereignty
20:24He pointed to the recently published US national security strategy as evidence that Washington seeks to elevate its global status

20:54And in other news, Ireland launched airstrikes along its disputed border with Cambodia on Monday
21:00Reigniting hostilities as both nations accused the other of initiating the latest round of violence
21:07The clashes mark a sharp escalation in tensions that have lingered since the two Southeast Asian neighbors signed a truce in October
21:16The fragile ceasefire has been under strain in recent weeks
21:20particularly after Thai troops were injured by landmines last month
21:25Despite commitments to cooperate on clearing the mines, Bangkok and Phampen continue to trade blame for violations
21:34tracing fears of renewed conflict
21:37Trump, who in November claimed credit for halting a war between the two countries
21:42now faces the prospect of his peace deal unraveling as border violence intensifies
