00:20the midst of an election process marked by a strong foreign intrusion.
00:24Venezuelan Executive Vice President JosĂ© RodrĂguez condemns blockade of the country's airspace
00:33by the U.S. and announces the activation of a repatriation plan for Venezuelan citizens
00:38in the United States.
00:43And the Israeli army violated the ceasefire in Gaza and escalated its military operations
00:47in the West Bank.
00:54Hello, welcome to From the South.
00:55I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Adelso Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:59We begin with the news.
01:15In Honduras more than 6.5 million citizens are called to the polls in this Sunday's general
01:20elections.
01:21Some delegations of sabotage are marked by the interference of U.S. President Donald Trump.
01:25The National Electrical Council ordered a special deployment of law enforcement agencies to
01:29ensure a peaceful environment, a measure supported by international observers.
01:33There are more than 18,000 polling stations throughout the country on a day that will decide not only
01:38the presidency but also the renewal of Congress and municipal governments.
01:43According to the latest polls, three of the five presidential candidates are practically tied
01:48in vordering tensions.
02:18As we were saying, Honduran is ready for the upcoming elections this Sunday, November 30th.
02:31Let's take a look at the presidential candidates.
02:34We begin with Rixi Moncada.
02:36Godoy is the candidate for Liberty and Free Foundation Party and represents continuity
02:40of the current government's progressive agenda.
02:42A lawyer, former judge, and the first woman to serve as Honduras' minister of national defense.
02:48Moncada has held key roles.
02:50She was key to the post-2009 resistance against the U.S.-backed coup that ousted President
02:56Manuel Zelaya and later helped found the Libre Party.
02:59She was appointed defense minister by President Xiomara Castro amid perceived threats to national sovereignty.
03:11We move on with the candidate for the national party, Nasri Juan Asfura.
03:16He is a wealthy construction tycoon and former mayor of Tegucigalpa and the candidate of Honduras' traditional right-wing establishment.
03:24Notably, he has been publicly endorsed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who declared Asfura the candidate Washington would support
03:32and on whom future U.S. aid allegedly depends.
03:36Asfura's 2021 presidential run ended in defeat, but his return is seen as an attempt to reinstall the political forces linked to former President Juan Orlando Hernández,
03:46now serving a U.S. prison sentence for drug trafficking and weapons smuggling.
03:50It was named in the Pandora Papers for offshore holdings and face corruption allegations.
03:59And finally, we have the candidate for the Liberal Party, Salvador Alejandro Nasralla.
04:05He is a former TV host and engineer and presents a more unpredictable variable.
04:09Originally running as an anti-establishment figure, Nasralla joined Libre's 2021 ticket as first presidential designate
04:16after dropping his own candidacy, only to later break with Castro's government.
04:21U.S. President Donald Trump recently accused him of pretending to be anti-communist just to split Asfura's vote.
04:29His current campaign attempts to position him as a sentry's alternative through his shifting alliances
04:34have raised questions about his consistency.
04:39Now we have our short break coming up.

14:38In France, thousands of people gathered in Paris in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip,
14:43more than a month after the ceasefire was declared.
14:46Under heavy police presence, the demonstration in Paris denounced a genocide in Gaza,
14:50demanding Palestinian self-determination and recognition as an independent state.
14:55In this context, participants urged the French government to stop supplying weapons to Israel
14:59and to go beyond formal condemnations.
15:02Demonstrators also called for real peace and the implementation of international communal court orders,
15:07emphasizing the importance of unity among French solidarity groups to enhance their influence.
15:11And Palestine's ambassador to Cuba, Amar Sorba, urged the international community on Sunday
15:27to promote the cessation of Israel's attacks on Gaza and the end of the occupation of its country.
15:32The inalienable right of the Palestinian people to choose their own path must be respected.
15:37Sorba started during a meeting with members of the International Democratic Federation of Women.
15:41The ambassador also denounced Israeli forces have killed more than 60,000 Palestinians in the last two years,
15:47most of them women and children.
15:49Furthermore, she reported that during the same period, more than 160,000 have been injured,
15:55thousands have been arrested and millions are living in famine.
15:58As of today, more than 90% of the Gaza Strip is destroyed, as are several camps in the West Bank.
16:04In the northwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo,
16:14at least 20 people died and several remained missing after a boat capsized on Lake Maindombe.
16:19According to recent testimonies, the boat, which was traveling from the town of Kiri to Kinshasa,

16:39has stated that the government has not yet issued an official figure for the number of victims or survivors,
16:44as it is waiting for details from the rescue teams.

16:53with a shortage of life jackets.

17:53In a modest workshop in Poland, glass artisans create luxury Christmas bubbles
18:10that are building a global reputation and are sold in high-end stores.
18:15These bubbles come in a variety of shapes and integrate designs.
18:19The ornaments are all handmade at Glitter Lab's modest workshop,
18:23from the blowing of the glass to the decoration.
18:26The owner of Glitter Lab, Barbara Mostovska,
18:30says these are ornaments they hope their customers have in their homes year-round
18:35and not just displayed on the Christmas tree,
18:37as they like to think of their products as simple home decorations.
18:41Each piece of glassware is made entirely by hand in small series ranging from more than 300 copies.
18:59People increasingly value handmade craftsmanship.
19:03In an age when you can buy anything, anywhere, for next to nothing,
19:07something made from scratch here in a European country
19:12with honest work and thoughtfulness is truly valued by customers.
19:19So knowing how much it costs to produce is one thing.
19:24But on the other hand, customers also see enormous value in it,
19:30especially in the fact that these bubbles are made in Poland.
19:34Poland itself has a very strong brand in this market.
19:41It's like collecting completely different things.
19:43Stamps, coins.
19:45It's the same thing with these bubbles.
19:48And I think that's the point.
19:50The desire to own something unique.
19:52If it's handmade, the price automatically goes up.
19:55And here, all of our bubbles are handmade.
19:58So each bubble is unique.
