00:10I'm expecting a bounce-back to an extent, Dan,
00:13but I'm not sure that they're going to be returning to form
00:16as the team to beat in the AFC.
00:18I just look at this roster.
00:19I have concerns about the offensive line, the right tackle position.
00:23We don't really know who's going to end up there.
00:26Jalen Moore is the veteran option, but there's been some buzz
00:28about undrafted rookie Khalil Benson maybe taking on that role.
00:32And, you know, it just worries me that you might have Patrick Mahomes
00:35coming off of a significant knee injury
00:37and not having the best protection in front of him.
00:40So, you know, from that perspective, I'm a little bit worried about the team.
00:43I think the signing of Kenneth Walker III was really smart of them
00:47because early in the season, they can really lean on him
00:50to carry the offense, not put too much pressure on Mahomes
00:53as he gets his legs under him.
00:54So I think there's a path for this team to be successful,
00:57but they just don't have as much depth as they did at their peak.
01:02You know, you look at your receiving core,
01:03Rashi Rice is there, very good player, but can he stay on the field?
01:07Xavier Worthy, we haven't seen the best out of him yet.
01:09Travis Kelsey, twilight of his career at this point.
01:12Is Patrick Mahomes coming off this injury going to be able to elevate these guys
01:16and have someone he can consistently rely on?
01:19That's the questions that I have about this team.
01:21I think Steve Spagnuolo will get the most out of that defense.
01:24I think they'll be competitive.
01:26I think they'll be within the division race,
01:27but it also wouldn't surprise me if they're kind of hanging around 500,
01:31like we've seen a lot early in the season and need a late season run
01:34to kind of get back into either the division race or the wildcard race.
01:39So I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that these Chiefs
01:42are going to be a true contender.
01:44I think that they're definitely going to be in the playoff mix,
01:47but there's enough holes to keep them away from getting another shot
01:50at the Lombardi Trophy, even despite the greatness of Mahomes and Andy Reid.
01:53And I'm afraid.
