00:00The investment that the government is making of £3 billion over the next three years is going to be really significant.
00:08And remember that local councils across the country have had no foresight previously of the money that they were going to get, no certainty.
00:16And so in addition to the £3 bus fare cap that this government has committed to through until March 2027,
00:23we want local authorities to be able to invest in those vitally important local services.
00:29It's up to councils to determine how they use this money.
00:33But we know that buses are incredibly important for people, you know, going about their daily business.
00:40If you haven't got a car, making that journey to work or to school, college, education, to get to your GPs, into town to do shopping,
00:48then buses are a lifeline for so many people.
00:51And that's why this government is prioritising this £3 billion of investment over the next three years to protect vital services.
00:59And keep fares affordable.
