00:00Under the Conservatives, the bus fare cap was due to expire in its entirety just a couple of
00:07months after the general election. I didn't think that was the right thing. So we have kept the
00:11fare cap. That continues until at least March 2027, and that is fully funded by this government,
00:18including with the higher costs of bus travel for the operators at the moment, given everything
00:25that's happening with the costs of diesel. So that is fully funded. It will remain in place until at
00:30least March 2027, and along with the freezing prescription charges, the freezing rail fares,
00:36the money off energy bills, and today's announcement that in August this summer,
00:41children aged between 5 and 15 will be able to travel for free at any time on the buses.
