Albert Tei says he had good sleep at night, graft case transferred to KL court

Embattled businessman Albert Tei joked that he had a good sleep in his own bed at night until he had problems waking up on Friday (Dec 5) morning to attend his graft case.   Tei, who was also charged on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur with similar charges, pleaded not guilty at the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Friday to a charge of giving a bribe of RM64,924 to former senior political secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin at a bank on Nov 28, 2023 and Sept 23 last year.  The court allowed the adoption of the KL court's bail terms and conditions, and ordered that the case be transferred to that court to be tried jointly. 00:00My client, Mr. Albert Tate, was charged in court today under Section 17B of the SPRM Act, where he pleaded not guilty.

00:12And the bail is the same bail as was given for yesterday's charge in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court.

00:20And based on an application by the DPP, the matter has now been transferred to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court,

00:27where the matter has been fixed for case management on the 8th of January 2026,

00:34where the four charges yesterday and the charge today, a total of five charges,

00:40all five charges will be heard together in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at the coming hearing day. That's all.

00:49Sir, did you plan to move it to High Court for the first year with the Cuala Lumpur Sessions Court?

00:57Right now, we do not have instructions from our client yet. As you know, my client has a large legal team.

01:03The legal team will be discussing, we will be having a meeting with our client.
