It was a torrid third day for the West Indies against New Zealand in the opening Test in Christchurch.

Resuming on 32 for no loss in their second innings, which was a lead of 96, skipper Tom Latham and Rachin Ravindra slammed tons to take the game away from the visitors.

The Black Caps closed on 417 for 4, which is an overall lead of 481.
