Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who are already working on the live-action remake of 'Aladdin,' are producing what will be a live-action/CG hybrid.

00:10The movie is about to be the latest Disney animated film to get the live-action remake treatment.

00:16The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned that the remake of the 2002 animated film

00:20is intended to be a live-action CG hybrid. It's still unclear if the project is intended

00:25for theatrical release or for Disney's streaming service that launches in 2019.

00:30The remake will be produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Rideback,

00:34who are also working on the high-profile live-action remake of Aladdin.

00:38Disney has hired up-and-comer Mike Van Waze to write the script.

00:41Now, as I'm sure you remember, the Hawaii-centric story Follow the Bond formed between a lonely

00:46human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction.

00:53Pursuing aliens and the love of a family also figure into the story.
