00:00The popular G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes is getting his own movie.
00:11Paramount Pictures has put a G.I. Joe spin-off movie featuring the commando into development,
00:15and Evan Speleotopoulos, the writer of Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman Winner's War,
00:20is in talks to write the script. Brian Goldner is among those producing the feature based on
00:24the Hasbro toy line. Snake Eyes is the silent ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s
00:29as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics' relaunch of the toy line called G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero.
00:35The character, dressed in all black, never revealed his face, and never spoke.
00:39This made him stand apart from the rest of the military anti-terrorist group, and he quickly
00:43established himself as the most popular. Snake Eyes had a special relationship with Scarlet,
00:48for a while the team's only female member, and sometimes carried out solo missions with his pet wolf, Timber.
00:54His archenemy is Storm Shadow, a ninja who is also his blood brother.
00:57Paramount has made two G.I. Joe movies, 2009's G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra and 2013's G.I. Joe
01:04Retaliation. Acrobatic actor Ray Park played Snake Eyes in both movies.
01:15The studio and Hasbro have been looking to reboot the franchise, and in the last few years have
01:19assembled writers' rooms to generate movie ideas. As for Speleotopoulos, the writer got his start in animation,
01:25and earlier this week he also made headlines when he came on board to write the sequel to
