Transcript
00:00So if you're having trouble keeping up with the latest on President Donald Trump's
00:03formal impeachment inquiry, have no fear because you can now stay up to date in
00:07podcast form.
00:09The New York Times is launching a new podcast to keep listeners updated on Trump's
00:13House impeachment inquiry called The Latest that will debut Wednesday evening,
00:17the same day that Congress begins its public impeachment hearings.
00:21The podcast will draw from the reporting coming out of the newspaper's Washington
00:24bureau with congressional editor Julie Davis as well as the paper's political
00:28reporters and White House correspondent lending their expertise to the show.
00:31Theo Balcombe, executive producer of their other podcast The Daily says,
00:35"...as we were thinking through how best to cover everything that will happen with
00:38the public hearings, we realized it would make a lot of sense to have a special show
00:42devoted solely to documenting this moment." New episodes, which will range in length from
00:46five to ten minutes, will be released every evening after the public hearings have wrapped.
00:50The latest is among several podcasts launched by The Times, along with The Daily and
