00:00So you might have been reading about all the speculation. We thought today would be a good day
00:04to hear it from the horse's mouth. Hello, horses.
00:06It's official. Big changes are coming to CBS News. The news organization unveiled a new
00:11weekday anchor lineup, naming Nora O'Donnell anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening
00:17News, and Gail King, Anthony Mason, and Tony DeCupol co-hosts of CBS This Morning.
00:22The new morning team takes over May 20, while the CBS Evening News with Nora O'Donnell will
00:26debut this summer in New York, before moving to its new permanent home in Washington, D.C.
00:31O'Donnell had this to say about her new job during Monday's CBS This Morning.
00:35I think about the legacy. I think about the history of CBS News, and it's incredibly humbling
00:40to accept this position, and so I'm going to give this everything I've got.
00:45Now, moving the evening news to Washington, D.C. is a bold and expensive move that executives
00:49hope will boost the broadcast and infuse it with a renewed sense of urgency, as well as
00:54give the show a leg up in access to top lawmakers. It's also where O'Donnell, a married mom of
00:58three, was based prior to joining CBS This Morning in 2012. And while working in New York,
01:03she has been shuttling back to Washington on weekends. For more on this story and to watch
01:07the full televised announcement, head to THR.com. Until next time, for The Hollywood Reporter News,
01:12I'm Tiffany Taylor.
