00:00Those kids need to organize because this is the moment, because this is exactly what happened in the civil rights movement.
00:07In her latest appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show Thursday, Oprah Winfrey opened up about her hefty donation to the March for Our Lives movement
00:15and responded to President Donald Trump's hate tweet against her.
00:18Following the tragic deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida, Winfrey announced that she would be following George and Amal Clooney,
00:24Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg, and Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw by making a $500,000 donation to support the March for Our Lives demonstration,
00:33in which students will take to the streets of Washington, D.C. to demand that their lives and safety become a priority
00:39and that gun violence and mass shootings cease to exist. Winfrey tweeted,
00:43Winfrey continued to praise the young students while sitting down with DeGeneres, saying,
01:02Winfrey also took a moment to respond to Trump's hate tweet, following her report about America's political divide during his presidency
01:11on Sunday's episode of 60 Minutes. Trump tweeted,
01:14Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes.
01:21The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others.
01:28Winfrey told DeGeneres that this was her reaction.
01:31I don't like giving negativity power, so I just thought, what?
01:35Winfrey said that she then went back and re-watched every tape to see if she felt like it was slanted or something.
01:40It was slanted or biased. She admitted that she felt there was something missing from the conversation.
01:45She told DeGeneres that they only used the Democratic side in response to her question,
01:49do you care what other people think about America? Winfrey told the talk show host,
01:53I remembered the guy Matt had said no. We're the only people that are worried what other countries are thinking of us.
01:59And I said, I think you should go back and put that in because it makes it more balanced.
02:03So I was working very hard to do the opposite of what I was hate tweeted about, so it's okay.
02:08And later on in the show, Winfrey surprised comedian and super fan Tiffany Haddish,
02:12who revealed that she used to write fan letters to Winfrey.
02:15Oprah, why didn't you write back?
02:17I didn't write back!
02:19Haddish also showed off her culinary skills to Winfrey and taught her how to make her signature joyful greens.
02:24And Winfrey's A Wrinkle in Time co-star Reese Witherspoon even made a special appearance,
02:29where she and DeGeneres went head-to-head to see who knows Winfrey better.
