Transcript
00:00Chrissy Teigen is speaking out after facing accusations of cyberbullying.
00:04Back in May, Courtney Stodden, who became a tabloid target in 2011,
00:09when at 16 they married 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison,
00:12called out people in the industry for harassing them on and off social media when they were a teenager.
00:17One of those people being Teigen.
00:20After Stodden's claims, resurfaced tweets written by Teigen led to her publicly apologizing on Twitter.
00:25Following her admission, Teigen remained silent on social media until now.
00:30In a Monday blog post shared on Medium, she wrote,
00:32Not a day, not a single moment has passed where I haven't felt the crushing weight of regret
00:36for the things I've said in the past.
00:38Of her awful tweets resurfacing, Teigen admitted,
00:41As I look at them and understand the hurt they caused, I have to stop and wonder, how could I have done that?
00:46She continued to denounce her actions, writing,
00:49There is simply no excuse for my past horrible tweets.
00:52My targets didn't deserve them. No one does.
00:55Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support.
00:58Not my meanness masquerading as a kind of casual, edgy humor.
01:02I was a troll, full stop, and I am so sorry.
01:05Teigen also noted that she is no longer the person who wrote those horrible things.
01:09I grew up, got therapy, got married, had kids, got more therapy, experienced loss and pain,
01:15got more therapy and experienced more life, and got more therapy.
01:19She also expressed her hope that everyone going forward can have patience and tolerance.
01:24I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes
01:28and be given the opportunity to seek self-improvement and change.
01:31Following Teigen's apology, fashion designer and former Project Runway contestant Michael Costello
01:36took to Instagram to detail how Teigen and her stylist Monica Rose
01:40attempted to blacklist him from the fashion industry after allegedly calling him a racist,
01:45following a, quote, photoshopped comment, which he writes,
01:47had, quote, been proven to be false by Instagram and since taken down.
01:51He says because of the incident, he still feels traumatized, depressed, and has thoughts of suicide.
01:57Teigen has yet to respond to Costello's claims.
