The 'Fuller House' actress drew criticism after saying her new network will “keep traditional marriage at the core” for upcoming projects.

00:00Candace Cameron Bure is addressing comments she made about quote traditional marriage after they
00:04were met with major backlash. The Fuller House star who has also become known for her work on
00:09Hallmark Channel announced earlier this year that she left Hallmark to join a new network
00:14Great American Family where she serves as chief creative officer. In an interview with the Wall
00:18Street Journal that was published Monday Bure said her new network will quote keep traditional
00:23marriage at the core for upcoming holiday projects. Bure's words came as Hallmark Channel
00:28will release its first Christmas film starring a gay couple as the movie's leads this holiday season.
00:33Her comments quickly drew criticism across social media. Following the backlash she said in a
00:38statement on Wednesday all of you who know me know beyond question that I have great love and
00:42affection for all people. It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally
00:47would want to offend and hurt anyone. She continued I had also expressed in my interview which was not
00:52included that people of all ethnicities and identities have and will continue to contribute
00:57to the network in great ways both in front of and behind the camera which I encourage and fully
