00:00Coming off that national championship run, 10-2 to back that.

00:05Coach, your program's getting a lot of hate from a lot of people out there

00:09who don't think you guys should be in the playoffs.

00:11So kind of state your case why Notre Dame football belongs back

00:15into the college football playoffs this year.

00:17Yeah, trust me, I'm passionate about our program.

00:20I'm not too opinionated about other programs.

00:23But, you know, you look at the totality of our season, right,

00:26and we're 10-2, we lost two games by a combined four points.

00:32And you look at the 10 wins and say, okay, double-digit victories.

00:40I don't know if there's another 10-2 team that can say those two losses came

00:45to two of the top teams in the country that we lost by three points and one point.

00:51And where we are now as a football program is as strong as we've been all season.

00:58And that's why, for me, this program truly deserves an opportunity

01:04in the college football playoffs because they've earned it.

01:06But not only because they've earned it, but because we are one of the best teams,

01:1012 teams, 10 teams in the country, and we should be in that playoff

01:15and getting a chance to compete against the other best.

01:17And that's what college football fans want to see.

01:19They want to see the best, right?

01:21And I truly believe we're one of those.
