00:00there's a part of me that really roots for Marcus Freeman.
00:03I think he's one of the hottest coaches in one of the most endearing coaches
00:08to want to play for.
00:09I think he's one of the hottest candidates maybe for the National Football
00:12League.
00:13I was surprised that the Steelers didn't hire him.
00:16Boy, I'll tell you what,
00:17who would have ever thought he was an upgrade for Brian Kelly to elevate that
00:22program.
00:22Have you been surprised with what he's done there in South bed?
00:26Big time.
00:27I think the biggest surprise for me is the way you couch that, Dan,
00:31which is, you know,
00:33you either love Notre Dame or you hate Notre Dame.
00:36And then a lot of people hate Notre Dame, right?
00:38They have their own TV deal.
00:40They've never joined a conference.
00:42They've remained independent.
00:44You know, they're sort of that outlier in that regard.
00:47So a lot of people do not have love for Notre Dame.
00:50The interesting thing for me,
00:51the upset is Marcus Freeman has made Notre Dame more palatable to the masses on a
00:59national scheme.
01:00He's a great guy.
01:01He's a great coach.
01:03Have had an opportunity to sit down,
01:05meet with him,
01:06talk with him.
01:07He's a very genuine individual.
01:10And by the way,
01:12that team is going to be a locomotive this year.
01:15I mean,
01:16the schedule sets up very well.
01:18They opened this weekend in Lambeau against Wisconsin,
01:21by the way,
01:23defense is phenomenal.
01:24Best secondary in the country.
01:26One of the best quarterbacks in the country and CJ car,
01:29Lloyd car,
01:30former Michigan head head coach's grandson.
01:34They have a little bit of a B in their bonnet after last year.
01:38I absolutely thought Miami should have been in the playoff instead of Notre
01:41Dame,
01:42but you know,
01:42Marcus is going to be using that all season long as a motivator.
01:46So ND is going to be hot all season.
01:49And I would be surprised to be honest that they lose a regular season game
01:52this year.
01:53So that November 7th game you think is going to be for a lot against Miami.
01:57I mean,
01:58Miami scheduled to a little bit formidable,
02:01but I think by the time they get there,
02:03both teams could be undefeated going into that November 7th football game.
02:08You think that determines really who could be the front runner to win the
02:11national championship this year?
02:13I mean,
02:13I know that Oregon is in that conversation as well.
02:16Ohio state always in it,
02:17but rich,
02:18I mean,
02:18that's going to be a pretty big time game on November 7th.
02:21Huge.
02:22I hope everyone's healthy.
02:23I hope CJ's healthy.
02:25I hope Darren,
02:25big fan of Darian Mensah,
02:27by the way,
02:27the quarterback from Duke.
02:29I think he's an NFL quarterback,
02:30great pickup,
02:31cerebral,
02:32accurate in his passes,
02:34did more with less at Duke.
02:35He's going to obviously have a lot more talent on the outside.
02:39Malachi,
02:40Tony,
02:40let's give some love to Mario Cristobal.
02:43I mean,
02:43people were piling dirt on him in the early going at Miami,
02:46some questionable calls,
02:48the loss against Georgia tech.
02:51Mario's a terrific recruiter,
02:53really started to turn the corner last year.
02:55This could be his coming out.
02:56I mean,
02:57this could be a national championship season in Miami.
02:59Amy.
