00:00I'm Sir John, celebrity makeup artist and creative director of MetaCube.

00:07Today we're going to get ready for the Women in Entertainment Gala.

00:10It's an AM situation, but we still want to be a bit pulled up and slightly formal.

00:14I have some really cool options I want to take you guys through.

00:16I think you're going to like it.

00:20I love the fact that we are celebrating and honoring the women,

00:23all the intersections that they come in because of their strength,

00:26their instincts, and because of the fact that women naturally know how to lead.

00:30I would literally clear my schedule in a heartbeat to make it happen.

00:35As makeup artists or beauty professionals, it is our job to be an energy destination.

00:39I always have to hang up anything I'm going through or anything that's happening at the door.

00:43It's necessary for you to go in knowing that my energy is going to impact this space in a major way,

00:49and this is going to be my calling card.

00:51It is our job to make sure that the person who's on the red carpet, on the runways,

00:55feels 10 toes down emotionally.

00:57Part of that is the prep work for a big day.

01:04When I was in Seoul in January, I wanted to find out who was the best of the best,

01:07and MetaCube just happened to be that girl.

01:10So honestly, I wanted to bring some of that back, bring some of the knowledge back.

01:13I loved how everything was about realigning or making yourself refresh or renew daily.

01:19My three favorite go-to's to get myself ready, what happened to be my MetaCube Booster Pro.

01:25It's going to snatch my face. It makes me feel firm.

01:27I'm loving salmon sperm extract as an ingredient.

01:31It absorbs really well. It makes me feel a little bit firmer and brighter.

01:33And then last but not least, a little bit of tequila for the win.

01:37Aretha always says, rock steady.

01:47You want to be rock steady and you don't need permission to be yourself,

01:50but sometimes we need a reminder.

01:52That's why it's really great to have amazing teams or people around you who don't always just say yes,

01:56who actually are a really great mirror so you can inventory yourself through them

02:00as people who are helping you get to the finish line.

02:02What does the finish line look like?

02:04The finish line looks like a beautiful photo. It looks like harmony in terms of hair and makeup and styling.

02:09Beauty is a feeling. When you leave a room, your presence should be left on it.

02:13You know, when I think about someone, I don't think about necessarily how they look.

02:16But how do they make us feel?

02:17I want you to feel something and fuck everybody else.
