00:07Hi, Glamour. It's Pat McGrath.

00:09And I'm here to look at some of the recreations of my iconic looks.

00:14I'm so excited.

00:20So we're going to start with the Taylor Swift Bejeweled video.

00:23It was the beginning of the tease of the showgirl,

00:25and I actually was in it.

00:26This was a fun week.

00:29We had beautiful.

00:31She's got all the colors.

00:32The look according to mother.

00:34Oh, look at me in my outfit.

00:36And extreme black to build structure and create definition.

00:40And she's doing such a good job.

00:41Look at the structure using the perma gel.

00:44She's taken that pencil.

00:45She's using her cotton, but she started with the blue.

00:48She's doing every single step.

00:50According to Vogue, they sampled every eyeshadow, liner, shape,

00:55and experimented with 30 different looks until they made the whole room shimmer.

01:00Look, Victoria is doing so well.

01:02To do that eye, she's exactly got it right.

01:05Starting with the pencil, getting that cotton bud, using it to perfect.

01:09And then she goes in with her pigment.

01:11Then she adds her shimmer.

01:12She's wearing nocturnal navy from the Celestial Nirvana palette on the outer corner of the cow.

01:18Amazing.

01:19Aquarian dream and bronze infatuation on the center of the lid.

01:23Look, I'm shocked because I'm just enjoying it.

01:26I'm just smiling, watching.

01:27It's so amazing to see how quickly Victoria and all the fans pick up on absolutely exactly which shade.

01:37She's got the electric bloom.

01:40Yep.

01:43And she looks so fierce going out in her jewels.

01:50I had worked with Taylor a long, long, long time ago when she had gone to the Met.

01:54A beautiful bias cut dress.

01:56We did the red lip way back then.

01:58I went to the Met afterwards.

01:59I ran in through the doors.

02:01Grace Coddington came up to me.

02:02She said, there's a new model in the room.

02:04And I said, who?

02:05She goes, there's someone I don't know.

02:06We're tall.

02:07And I was like, I think you, that's Taylor Swift.

02:10We just did a bias cut red lip.

02:12Yes.

02:12She was like, oh my goodness.

02:14That was, that made me laugh.

02:15And from then on, that beautiful red liquid lip has been seen on.

02:19And liquidless legendary matte lipstick in Elson 4 looked absolutely stunning.

02:25And I mean, once you wear it, you can't stop and you know, it doesn't move.

02:28It's incredible.

02:29All our reds are legendary as you all know.

02:32It's kiss proof.

02:33Let's just say.

02:39I can't wait to see.

02:41Oh, the lovely May.

02:42I've seen this look actually, and I love it.

02:44I love all the blending of the colors and the lips.

02:49And she's doing the airbrush mask, which of course, I'm so glad we developed one that you

02:54could just put on yourself, you know, directly with that glass skin 001.

02:59I mean, we mixed three masks to make the one that we wanted.

03:02Then we put a certain percentage of water, et cetera, et cetera.

03:04It was a lot.

03:05It was almost like a science lab getting that right.

03:08But watching May, it's amazing to see May use that whole airbrush process and do it exactly right.

03:15May did beautiful work as she always does.

03:18I just love seeing the skills of everybody.

03:21It is so genius.

03:23So this is another Maze of Margiela.

03:26All right.

03:27So let's see.

03:28Victoria DaVette.

03:29Here she goes.

03:31Oh, look at her.

03:32Yes.

03:33She's doing it so amazingly.

03:34And she went with the yellow cheeks and she's using Mothership 5, one of my favorite motherships.

03:39She's making her mask.

03:41I can't believe.

03:42Is she actually spritzing that on with a little spray bottle, if I had known?

03:47Team, did you see that?

03:49Did you see that?

03:50This is major.

03:51And she's got her fan, she fans in between, and then she's got perfect glass.

03:55We have to test this.

03:57We love you, Victoria.

03:58You smacked it.

03:59I think the show was end of January.

04:02I'll never forget when I saw the briefing and John had given us the porcelain doll and

04:07said, you know, I'd love a modern version of that.

04:09And I, of course, nothing but panicked and then realized we had to move into the future.

04:14And I really think this was the first time a human being really beat AI.

04:18It looked like living, true AI skin.

04:22I remember we all started at 8 in the morning and we struggled to make the time.

04:27Altogether, I have to say, we did about 300 looks.

04:30And I do remember kind of like when you leave a show, as a team, you're happy.

04:35As a team, we're enthralled.

04:38Always.

04:39Over the moon.

04:40And then waking up the next morning and seeing kids reenact the walk and the look and then

04:46the makeup and everybody wanting to know what the makeup was.

04:50And I was thinking to myself, it's important for the clothes and the show to live.

04:55And then I would, you know, maybe a few months later, say, actually, here it is.

05:01Here's what the makeup is.

05:02And then for something to go viral for like three months and more.

05:05What a joy.

05:06So much fun.

05:07We had a lot of fun.

05:08Right, team?

05:09Did we have a lot of fun?

05:10Yes.

05:11It was genius.

05:12We have Naomi Campbell at the VMAs in 2016.

05:15Ooh, what a night.

05:17Let's have a look.

05:18So she's putting on a red lip.

05:20She's already got her fierce base on.

05:22Getting that precision done.

05:24Liquid lipstick first and then apply the glitter while the liquid lipstick is still wet.

05:29Okay, I love that.

05:30So she's going into a liquid lipstick.

05:32And of course, we had the kit, which I will show you.

05:35Here she is.

05:36This is the kit.

05:37She's pressing on the way that we taught everybody.

05:40She's doing really well.

05:41I love this look.

05:42Oh my gosh.

05:43It was so amazing to turn, you know, to turn your makeup into jewelry.

05:48The glitter was actually from eBay.

05:50Kind of looks like the one that she was wearing.

05:53We did have a very extra special glitter that even in daylight, it would flash fireworks of sparkle.

06:01Before it dried, just literally patted the glitter onto my lips.

06:05She did such a good job.

06:08I love it.

06:09Guessing, knowing to press the glitter in really fast.

06:12Get all your layers on.

06:13Amazing.

06:14Oh my goodness.

06:15She did such a good job.

06:17She looks incredible.

06:19And considering that she didn't have the kit, wow, what an amazing job.

06:24But I'll never forget, on the red carpet, Naomi's mouth just flashed, flashed, like there was electrical sparks flying.

06:32So I hope Jenny had that kind of a night, too.

06:35If I remember rightly, this night for Lust 004, we had just done the press event for Lust 004.

06:42Then we ran to Naomi's apartment and we put that lip on and it was just, it was electrifying.

06:49I'll never forget, as she entered the red carpet, I remember the compere saying, that's Naomi Campbell wearing Lust 004.

06:57That was the announce that we all screamed, we had so much fun.

07:01I have no idea how many times I've done Naomi's makeup and I have no idea how many times my incredible team have done Naomi's makeup.

07:08But as I said, it's always like a family reunion, family gathering, lots of fun.

07:14So I have to tell this story about how I met Naomi Campbell for the first time.

07:18I had a job near Oxford Circus in London and every time the magazines were released, you'd go into the train station and go and pick up your magazines.

07:27And I literally would have posted on a calendar the dates of every magazine coming out.

07:32It was the time of the month.

07:33I ran to the tube station for my lunch hour and all of the magazines were gone and it was just out.

07:40And I said to the guy, where are the magazines?

07:42He said, oh, a young girl just bought them and took them all.

07:45She went that way.

07:46So I ran after her, run up the stairs and I see a young lady holding a pile of magazines on the shoulder.

07:52And it's Naomi Campbell as a little boo-boo.

07:54And I said, can I have one?

07:57She went, no, I'm in it.

07:59And I was like, what?

08:01I said, I need one of those magazines.

08:03I have the money right here.

08:04Can I just have one?

08:05She had a stash.

08:06She was like, no.

08:07She was like, I'm in it.

08:08And walked off and I was like, in it?

08:10Because so is so good.

08:12And then when I finally got the magazine and there she was inside the magazine, one of

08:17her early shoots.

08:18What a small world.

08:19The next look is Dior for winter 2003.

08:24Let's see what happens.

08:26Oh, amazing.

08:27It's always lovely when you see the pale base go on and it goes on so smoothly because it

08:33really reminds me of being at the shows and that was something that we always had to make

08:38sure was perfect.

08:39I love that she just put on our glass skin.

08:42That's amazing because I do remember in that show, we kind of developed some rubber makeup

08:50eyeshadows and it's just so fantastic to see kind of the world go full circle and see Tyra

08:56using our glass skin mask on top of the look, which is so magical.

09:01I'm obsessed.

09:03So Dior for winter 2003, if I remember, John wanted kind of like an 80s club scene mixed

09:10with 20s, a real modern hybrid and we went for it.

09:15I love using non-traditional materials.

09:17We made these rubber kind of face masks, eyeshadows that were hand cut and blended and layered

09:26with glue and lashes and believe it or not, that rubber, they were actually party balloons

09:32that we cut up, if I remember rightly, all different color balloons and it just looks

09:36so exquisite and kind of manga, but with an edge.

09:40I always just love that from 2003 to today, everybody just still loves these looks.

09:47And that the kids are still creating them and I, I never get sick of watching them and

09:51I want to see more of them.

09:54Schiaparelli's Spring Summer 2024, the bedazzled ear.

09:59We love Aditya.

10:00Let's go.

10:04I love, so he's done the silver, yes.

10:07Start placing the crystals all around the edge.

10:09That was so fantastic because you had the alien gelic spar skin, kind of, it was the beginnings

10:14of secretly the glass skin spray on the cheekbones with highlighter and then here we go with the

10:22bedazzled ear.

10:23He did such a gorgeous number.

10:24And I love that he added the beautiful orange flame stones and the jeweled earring.

10:31Oh, that's so fantastic.

10:33Definitely, I love that he's got the theatrical silver on the ear first, crystallizing and then

10:39going into the look.

10:41Such a fierce look.

10:42Everybody can wear this.

10:43The bedazzled ear part two with Hayley.

10:47Love it.

10:48I love, she's getting the ear done.

10:51Fantastic.

10:53That's so beautiful.

10:55I love that Hayley did her own personal take on that ear and it looks absolutely fantastic

11:03and stunning and I do love that she added the eyes as well on top of that with those beautiful

11:09lashes.

11:10She better go.

11:11That's so gorgeous.

11:12If I remember rightly, at the Schiaparelli show, it was all about Elsa Schiaparelli being

11:18obsessed with the cosmos, otherworldly.

11:20We always do this incredible alien gelic skin with highlighted cheekbones.

11:26You know, you can really see the quality of the skin.

11:29I think we'd done a lot of tests with a lot of different eye jewels again and then Daniel

11:34was like, I think it's just the ear for this.

11:37So then we went into that beautiful ear and it was fantastic.

11:41I mean, a day at a fashion show, I mean, you've already gone through your days of testing,

11:45hours of testing and usually by the time the day of the show, we know what we're doing

11:50and the only kind of, our only enemy is time.

11:54But as I say, my team is a very well-oiled machine at the best.

11:57It's kind of a good day.

11:58Show day is a good day.

12:00We know we've got this once it comes to show day.

12:03Chapel Rhone Met Gala 2025.

12:06Oh, this is such a, so this is amazing look.

12:09Team Pat McGrath, killing it.

12:11Let's go.

12:12Oh, and she served with Sublime Perfection Foundation.

12:15Our concealer.

12:16Look at the flawlessness.

12:18Yes.

12:19Go, kitty.

12:21Bust it out.

12:22The new mothership, turning it out.

12:27She's so fierce.

12:29Busting out the green.

12:31Oh, making arches, doing her own thing.

12:35I love, and then she's putting the purple on the lid.

12:39Because I had done complete silver for this, but she's giving it versions.

12:45Love it.

12:46The wings, no problem.

12:48So made.

12:51Yes, she's doing the curls underneath.

12:57I love it.

12:59Amazing.

13:00I love this version.

13:01I love this variation.

13:03It was so much fun working with Chapel.

13:05Another incredible human that can sit in the seat for the hours that it takes without even a worry.

13:14So at peace, enjoying all the process.

13:17She just loved playing with the glitters and the whole look.

13:20We did a few Zooms with Chapel and her team.

13:22And she was like, just do whatever you want.

13:24Really go there, out there.

13:25We did quite a few looks.

13:27And in the end, this is the look that she loved.

13:30And she was right.

13:31We were kind of playing with like the 70s, disco, glam rock, braveness, crystals and stones.

13:40I love Kitty's version using the green, using our mothership.

13:43It's really, really divine.

13:45And I love the shapes that she built.

13:47And yeah, that was fantastic.

13:50The Met Day, I kind of do about 40 pushups in the morning.

13:53Triple espresso.

13:54And then once we start heading uptown and you start to feel the traffic and you start to stress.

13:59Always taking the back entrance of the hotel because if you go into the front, you'll be waiting at the elevator for like the whole day.

14:05So we've got all the secrets.

14:07I am going from room to room to room checking and monitoring all of the looks.

14:11You know, for instance, we had Tyler, we had Doja, we had Lewis Hamilton, we had Alex Consani, we did Amelia.

14:18There were so many.

14:18I think in the end we had 15.

14:20But we have it down to military excellence.

14:23And then I had to get myself ready.

14:25It's a lot of fun.

14:25It's a great night and a great day.

14:29So lovely to watch all of these videos today.

14:33And we find a lot of my team members on social media.

14:37Almost every week we reach out to new young artists and bring them aboard.

14:41We love to pull in new talent, nurture new talent.

14:45We are always building the team.

14:47And we will be doing a global contest to find the next makeup artist for Pat McGrath Labs and for my team.

14:54So everyone get ready because I know how busy you all are on social media and I watch every single look.
