00:00Monday night football. Good game here tonight. If you think you may have a little bit of fireworks,
00:04Joe, 46 and a half total, a seven and a half point spread as the favorite towards New England
00:08because all they do is win, win, win. Good teams win, great teams cover. That hook is looming
00:13large at some outlets here. So Joe, take a look at Monday night football, the Giants and the
00:18Patriots. What's your spread line? Well, I mean, what else do the Patriots have to do, right?
00:23They're running a nine game winning streak. They're seven and two against the number during
00:27that streak. However, that offensive line, namely left tackle, will gamble out with an injury,
00:33which is in a great matchup now against a very aggressive Giants defensive front that we have
00:40seen win in the trenches against two AFC North teams, Donnie, and gave them all they could handle
00:46here. Jackson Dart is the wild card. He is back in under center, it looks like. But what are we going
00:52to get from him? How many design runs are there going to be? It feels like this game is going to
00:58be a heck of a lot closer than the market thinks it is. I wouldn't be shocked, Donnie, if the hook
01:03is gone and maybe we are under a touchdown by the time he gets the kickoff. I got to tell you,
01:08because this game could scramble some brains out there because what we were seeing from the
01:12Giants offense there under Jameis Winston is not what you're going to see from Jackson Dart.
01:16Understand this, Jameis has been around the block. He knows his time is now and he was slinging that
01:21thing all over the place. Jackson Dart, still a rookie quarterback coming back after an extended
01:26layoff. We'll see what he has for that game. Sunday NFL action bleeds into Monday night football
01:32action. I'm Donnie Wrightside. He's Joe and here we welcome in Tom Vecchio, our friend here on the
01:37Sports Grid Network to talk about some of those action that happened yesterday and into today,
01:41Tom, and just when we think we've seen it all. Man, oh man, the Rams are the best team in the NFL.
01:46Oh, are they really? Panthers said, you know what? We'll take this game and show you what's up.
01:5031-28, Tom. Entertaining game. Goes way over the total. A lot of yardage on each side. But have
01:56a Carolina in that bounce back effort in the rain down in Charlotte yesterday.
02:00You know, great win for the Panthers. Like you said, they're coming off a terrible game. I
02:04do feel at a certain point, it's just not going to be enough for the Panthers. I don't think they're
02:09in a spot to win a division. They're not good enough to win a wild card. They still have to play the
02:13Bucs twice to close out the season. At best, they split one of those. And the Bucs still have the
02:18division lead as of now. I think they take the division, the Bucs that is. The Rams, I still
02:23think they're the best team in the NFL. It's not by miles ahead, though. They certainly have their
02:28faults as every team does. Yeah, good stuff. Yeah, we were just laughing though, Todd. The AFC North is
02:34so bad that even Cincinnati now is 9-1 to win it. Pittsburgh loses to Buffalo yesterday. Is it a
02:42coin flip division? I think it has to be considering that the Ravens and the Bengals still have to play
02:48one more time. So it's not like the Ravens can like weather the storm and say like, oh,
02:52like we can sustain this loss. We can sustain another loss. Like they have to win all their
02:56games. They also have to win against the Bengals at Bengals. Now I know, you know, as we always say
03:01like, oh, you know, competitive teams in the division, they'll probably end up splitting when
03:04it's all said and done. But like, we can't trust the Ravens to do anything on offense. Like
03:07everyone's saying that Lamar just doesn't look fully hit. Like something's wrong with the
03:11Ravens offense this year. So nothing set in stone, which is good because it's entertaining.
03:16But man, like we want to see some team like grab the reins and take charge.
03:21I'll tell you who's grabbing the reins, Tom, and taking charge yesterday. It was the Buffalo Bills.
03:25They ran 51 times for 249 yards on that Steelers team, which also had the Buffalo Bills down both of
03:33their tackles. I watched that game extensively and we talked yesterday. I didn't know how Pittsburgh
03:37really was going to score. That game should stay under. And it did. But I look at that Pittsburgh
03:41offense. It's the same thing I see. You have an aging quarterback with a broken wrist, no wide
03:47receivers to speak about a DK Metcalf. So you just blanket cover him and nobody can get open.
03:51The Pittsburgh Steelers are broken at six and six here. Where do they go from here?
03:57You know, frankly, I think they need a reset. They need an injection of just raw talent onto the
04:03offensive side of the ball. DK is great. That's awesome. I think, I think the dynamic of Warren
04:08and game on the backfield is actually really solid, but you need some explosiveness. Like you need
04:13strong receivers that can get separation and get open on their own and a quarterback can get them
04:18the ball. Look to your point, you know, just DK and then Calvin Austin and Darnell Washington and
04:25John Smith, like those guys go on at the needle and they're not an issue for defenses when it's all
04:30said and done. Like they just need strong receivers that are extremely fast and a quarterback that can
04:35get them the ball. Yeah. Easier said than done there. What are we thinking here tonight, Tom?
04:41As the, the Patriots at home, some issues on that offensive line, nine game winning streak. I mean,
04:49there's nothing not to like, but are things going to come to a head here tonight or are they going to
04:55run away with this game? You know, I, I like the Pats to win. I think that's like the easiest way to put,
05:00I think everyone's going to be on the same boards. I do like them to cover. And that's a, that's the big
05:03point. Like seven and a half is a tough number. Just knowing, you know, especially for the Giants at
05:08this point, their propensity to go for two, I think will be increased as the season goes on just because
05:13they have nothing to lose. Like why not try and go out there and just cause an upside, you know,
05:16make a little noise, whatever you want to call it, whatever cliche word. So I don't like the Pats to cover
05:20at seven and a half. I think that's a bit much the 46 and a half. You know, I'm, I'm a little bit
05:24leaning towards the over, which is not something I always say for primetime games. You know, it's going to be super cold
05:29there. It's not, there's going to be no weather, but it's going to be very, very cold. So I'm looking
05:32at some props. If we want to get into that now, specifically, let's start off with Theo Johnson
05:36for the Giants. I like him over 32 and a half receiving yards. We look at the game specifically
05:41since Jackson Dart has taken over at quarterback and he has at least four targets in every single
05:45game. Now he hasn't gotten to the yardage in every single game. He has been there in the recent
05:49games when James Winston was started starting, which is good to see that they're utilizing him in the
05:53offense, but the Pats, they actually allowed the seventh most, seventh most receiving yards to opposing
05:58tight ends. They're actually deficient in that area. And I think the Giants want to go out there
06:02and make a little noise and put up some yards and put up some points, especially with Jackson Dart
06:06being back. I think they need to keep them safe tonight, right? Like don't drop back 50 times and
06:11have him throw the ball deep and expose these hits. So Theo Johnson, get the ball out quickly to him.
06:18If we look at this game too, Tom, because the one thing that is going to change is Jamie Swinson was out
06:22there and you know, he's Mr. Yolo. You only live once. Just get this ball out here. I'm going to throw it.
06:27I'm going to let you guys make some plays. And they were doing that. I don't know if we're
06:30necessarily going to see that tonight with Jackson Dart, a quarterback. He's right around that 200
06:34yards marker here for his passing prop. But Wandale Robinson really saw an increase in yards under
06:40Jameis Winston. He's listed high for the game at 59 and a half. Sometimes it's hard to extrapolate.
06:46So yeah, he should dominate. He's having some really good, you know, games, but Jameis isn't there.
06:50How do we play Wandale tonight? You know, I think it's easy to trust him. If you are looking for
06:56like, I don't want to say like a, just a, the public play, but I think that's what it
07:00is ultimately. Like if you just want to go there, cause you don't have a lean on the
07:03game overall, you don't want to play a side. You're not sold on the props. You're worried
07:06about the, you know, pass offensive line to Joe's comment. Like it's going to be an
07:10issue. Like, yeah, it's like, yeah. Then it's like Steph Diggs. Do we trust him? No. Hunter
07:13Henry. If you just want, I would say an easy thing that you're trying to get to the
07:16window. I think Wandale is the answer. There's again, there's not a whole lot of talent
07:19on the giants outside of Wandale and Theo Johnson. They have a, some, you know, Tyron
07:24Tracy, they have some good players, but if the giants are going to be playing in a
07:28passing game script, Wandale Robinson should be seeing a lion's share of the
07:32targets just because there's not a whole lot of players to take away targets from
07:36him. Like there's no target competition outside of Theo Johnson, at least in my
07:39estimation, Slayton's not a big issue for me.
07:43Tough time. I'm looking at this total too at 46, 46 and a half. It hasn't moved a whole
07:49lot here, uh, the whole week. And I'm trying to figure out, does that mean that
07:53are we expecting fewer points here? Are we expecting more points? I mean, it's not
07:59like the giants weren't averaging 24, 25 points a game with Jackson dart on the
08:04center. So is, are we getting points in this one? You think? Yeah, I would lean
08:09over in this one. I don't think it flies over. I don't think we're getting a game
08:12in the sixties, but you know, an upper eighties, you know, ending around 28 or
08:16student 28, uh, 28 to 10 or somewhere around that, uh, 28 to 20, not 20 to 10,
08:2128 to 20, 48 is what I'm trying to say. That kind of key number. I think that is
08:24more realistic, not in the upper sixties or upper fifties. That's where I'm
08:28going. I also want to mention Trey beyond Henderson, over 82 and a half
08:31rushing and receiving combined, despite the offensive line issues. You know, I
08:34think it's easier to run block than is the past block when you're dealing with
08:37backup linemen. And even though Ramondre Stevenson is back, we should be seeing
08:41him take the lead tonight. It should be fun to watch it play out up there in
08:44Foxborough, one of the hottest teams in the NFL, the England Patriots. Can they
08:47continue the streak? Tommy, thanks for rising and grinding with us. We'll talk
08:50to you soon. We'll be right back. Oh, it's a Monday and it's December right
08:54here on the early line sports grid network, Donnie right side and Joe
08:59Ranieri, New York giants, New England Patriots tonight, seven and a half at most of
09:04the marketplace is going to be shopping around today as a favorite from New
09:07England and a total of 46 and a half darts going to be quarterback tonight.
09:11Not Jamies Winston. If we take a look at Drake May, it's been nothing short of
09:15spectacular this year and the run that New England is on looking to close the
09:18door and possibly the number one overall seed in the AFC cold conditions
09:23tonight, Joe and Foxborough 29 degrees. As we start no precipitation and light
09:28winds perfect for the month of December. So let's start here. The Giants, one thing
09:33we know about them. They love that lead in the fourth quarter. They just can't
09:36stand actually winning football games here. It's incredible to watch you play
09:40out. Do they stay within the seven and a half tonight with dark coming back?
09:45I believe they can. And I, and I believe they have shown you the last couple of
09:51weeks, how, you know, how competitive they can actually be here. I mean, ask
09:55Detroit, ask Green Bay who got dominated in the trenches. I mean, those are two
10:00very good defensive teams, certainly up front and the Giants offensive line. I mean,
10:06they manhandle them. I mean, Giants are running well. They're pass blocking. I mean,
10:11Jameis Winston wasn't sacked until the final play in overtime of that game against
10:16Detroit, Donnie. And that offensive line is very underrated with how good they have
10:22been. And I think they'll continue to do that with Jackson Dart under center. And
10:27yeah, I mean, listen, there is question marks. I think New England is overrated. I think they're
10:32overvalued. I think missing two of your starting offensive linemen could be a problem with that
10:39defense. And don't forget, Giants fired their defensive coordinator after that Detroit game.
10:43And as crazy as that may sound, you know, guys like Brian Burns, right? We've seen them
10:50not be happy with what's going on defensively with the play calling and everything else throughout the
10:56season. So that might re-energize this defense here a little bit, who just unfortunately hasn't made
11:02enough plays down the stretch to win these last couple of games. But are they going to get blown
11:07out by more than a touchdown? I don't see that happening here. It's an interesting one, because
11:13again, if it was Jameis Winston, I think everybody just would be piling on right to the Giants going,
11:17like, you know, he's going to throw it around. And even if they're down, he has a chance to bring
11:20them back. Even if they have limited weapons, he was sensational quarterback. But now it's Jackson
11:25Dart. What's the narrative coming in on this game as well? Because he's going to start tonight,
11:30no longer Jameis Winston. The thing that we think got Brian Dable fired was, okay,
11:35you're a good offensive coordinator, but you're going to kill our franchise quarterback. That
11:38can't happen. So, you know, they're talking about Jackson Dart. Hey, you know what? Maybe not as many
11:43called runs for you. Don't try to run players over as you're going out of bounds. But here's my
11:47question to you, Joe, which I might struggle with a little bit. You can't take that player out of the
11:53game. If that's the type of quarterback he is in the pocket breaks down, it's not going to throw it
11:57away. He's going to try to make a play. 29 and a half is the rushing prop for Jackson Dart tonight
12:03versus the New England Patriots. I know we're probably not getting three design runs, which
12:08could pick up an extra 12 or 13 yards, but he is going to scramble, Joe. If I gave you a free
12:13wager tonight on Jackson Dart's rushing prop, does he get 30 yards or stay under 30 yards tonight?
12:20Well, I would not. I wouldn't sweat out an under with him because listen, you don't need to design
12:26runs for him. Like his mobility alone will give him an opportunity to pick up free yardage there
12:34and opportunity to get some yards there. You know, he is who he is, right? So you're not going to be
12:40able to contain him. But I do think even the you're not bubble wrapping him, Donnie, right? Otherwise,
12:45why are you playing him? You're you know, should he have 25 design runs in the game? No, he should
12:51not. But at the same time, you know, his ability and his elusiveness and athleticism and he's got
12:57some legs. So he will take advantage of it. I would much rather be on the over than the under in that
13:03spot, because I don't think you're starting him if you're just planning on making him a pocket passer.
13:08That's not who he is. Hunter Henry, 38 and a half receiving yards. If we're looking at the receiving
13:13market, Stefan digs 47 and a half. Then that guy up top, there is Wondell Robinson, 59 and a half.
13:19We saw a lot of success under Jameis Winston, Matt Collins, Theo Johnson. We talked about there
13:24with Tom, who was on previously with us here, Darius Slayton. It's it's hard for me to get a
13:28grasp on this game to which way we're going to go, because it's throwing me a little bit off from
13:32a giant's perspective. The one thing I have liked all season long, though, has been that New England
13:35offense and the use of the tight ends. They have a running game. Now a really good quarterback
13:39who's mobile enough in the pocket with a strong arm and a plethora of fast wide receivers.
13:43So for me, if I say, you know, Hunter Henry, 38 and a half, that makes a lot of sense for
13:48me. Kayshon Booty, one of those guys that can get deep 34 and a half. You're getting a lot
13:51of discounts on some of these price points here for the wide receivers and pass catchers
13:55for New England. Well, I don't think Hunter Henry is going to have a good game. The New York
14:01Giants defense, although some issues, what they have not had an issue. They're fourth best
14:06at defending tight ends this year. That's a tough matchup for Hunter Henry. Hunter Henry plus
14:11200 for a touchdown. Maybe, maybe. We'll be right back.
14:15Did you have fun today on the early line? We certainly hope you did, because why? Joe
14:19and Erin Donnie Wright said armchair quarterback on a Monday. So much to go over. We weren't
14:23even here on Thursday or Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but enough to squeeze in all that
14:27information to get you ready for tonight's information on the Monday night football game.
14:31And more importantly, what's going to happen this week in the college football playoff?
14:35Tomorrow is a big day for the college football playoff, because why? We're going to get to
14:38see that stupid TV show that tell us everything we don't actually know, but technically knew
14:43already as the way it plays out to who's going to make the college football playoff. But that's
14:47here and they're there. What we like to do now on the part of the show is say, Joe and Donnie
14:51talked enough. Let's hear from the people. Here's our favorite public poll.
15:01If you haven't done yet, head over to X, hit the like button, hit the subscribe button,
15:06hit the follow button, whatever you want to do on X and find us at Sports Grid, because we ask
15:10questions Monday through Friday for the early line. And we want to know what you think about
15:14a certain topic or a question. Today's topic, simple. It's Monday night football. What are
15:18you betting on tonight in Giants versus the Patriots on Monday night football? Four choices
15:23over under Giants or Patriots with the spread. If we take a look now, Joe, the Giants getting the
15:28bulk right now at plus seven and a half at 40% from the public. The low man on the total poll is the
15:35over at 46%. Are we fading the public, rolling with the public? And which way did you go, Joe?
15:42Yeah, I got to tell you, the public in as far as the marketplace, you know, the
15:48the Patriots have become that trendy team right now, right, where they can do no wrong,
15:55where that's it. They're just no matter what it is, they're going to steamroll teams. And that's it.
15:59Well, and exactly steamroll Cincinnati and didn't get the cover here. But now they're home. And
16:06everyone just assumes like somehow going from Jameis Winston to Jackson Dart is a downgrade here. I mean,
16:13stop it. I think this game is is going to be sneaky. And I would not be shocked if the Giants
16:22actually pull out the upset win here just to go along and cap off a week 13 that has seen
16:29multiple outright dogs win the game and do it pretty convincingly, by the way.
16:36Yeah, we'll see how it plays out. And again, cool and crisp in New England, but no weather concerns
16:41because you're not going to have a high winds. You're not going to have precipitation. So it
16:44should be a clean slate. We'll see what Drake may does under center in this game. The one thing we
16:47like about the Giants, they can get a pass rush going. If it's not there, the New England Patriots
16:51will move the football, but also the question marks on what are we actually getting out of Jackson
16:55Dark? We loved what we saw to Jameis, but now Dark comes back in. We'll see if he runs,
16:59see how effective he is, and the way we go into that game. But now's the time, Joe,
17:02we'd like to leave the people with some cash here. Bye, bye, bye on the way.
17:13Football tonight, basketball tonight, hockey tonight. Joe Ranieri, where are we headed for
17:18our best bet for you? I'm going to go to this Monday night football game, Donnie, and I am going
17:24to take a flyer on the over 46 and a half points. And the over has actually been pretty good play here
17:32with the Giants recently, right? Six of the last eight games they have played have gone over. And
17:39like I said, the idea that going to Jackson Dart is somehow a downgrade from Jameis Winston,
17:44you're crazy. He's much more dynamic than Jameis ever was. And it's not like the team wasn't
17:50scoring points when he was in there. So I think Jackson Dart gets it going here. I think they'll
17:56score. They'll do their part, Donnie, and score enough to be able to help New England, who will
18:02also, I think, have some success in this game, putting up points at home. I don't think this is
18:09going to be a rock fight. I think we're going to get some points here. And I think 46 and a half
18:13with no weather concerns is a tad low for me. I think we're much closer to 50 than we are 45.
