00:01Were you surprised the way the Giants blew out the Dallas Cowboys?
00:06And what shocked me, Jacob, was how they dominated them
00:10at both sides of the football.
00:12And this is even without Dexter Lawrence on that defensive side
00:15of the football for the Giants.
00:17I mean, were you surprised the way they handled them up front?
00:21I was, Sills.
00:22I was expecting that the Cowboys' offense, at the very least,
00:25would look good in this game.
00:27But Dak Prescott just did not look comfortable at all.
00:31And I don't know if there was an issue.
00:32They're missing their star left guard, Tyler Smith.
00:35So I don't know if Dak Prescott wasn't confident in the protection
00:38he was getting up the middle or if he just was having trouble,
00:41you know, getting the ball and finding his open weapons.
00:44But it just felt like the Giants had a leg up on the Cowboys the whole game.
00:47I think defensively, obviously, we're kind of expecting the Cowboys' defense
00:52to be better than it was last year.
00:53It's a low bar to clear.
00:55Week one was very discouraging.
00:56They blew a lot of coverages against Isaiah Likely.
00:59There was a sequence where the Giants ran a swing pass to the running back
01:04three times in four plays.
01:05The Cowboys never adjusted to it, and Devin Singletary was able to get
01:09a touchdown off it.
01:10So there is a lot to clean up on that side of the ball.
01:12Again, new defensive coordinator, Christian Parker.
01:15It's going to take him time to get that scheme installed
01:18and get people comfortable with it.
01:19But certainly a discouraging performance from the Cowboys.
01:22And I would say the most discouraging part is just the offense
01:24just looking completely out of sorts.
01:27They're going to have to bounce back quickly against the Commanders
01:29because if they don't beat the Commanders, Sills, their schedule gets really tough.
01:34And they could all of a sudden be really far behind the eight ball
01:36in a season where they're supposed to be contenders.
01:39Boy, I was just going to go there.
01:40This is almost like, and it feels like almost a must-win situation for the Cowboys.
01:46You can't fall 0-2 in the NFC East right out of the gate, right?
01:50Right.
01:51I think there's a weird level of desperation for Dallas at this early stage
01:55in the season.
01:55So it could be rough for them if they go behind the Commanders early.
