00:3014th interception of the year for Geno Smith.
00:34Tied for the most in the NFL with Tua Tungabailoa, who had one earlier today.
00:38Let's put a cap on this whole thing.
00:41Jason, that was a drill that we work on in practice almost every day that came to life on the field called tip drill.
00:47Thornton did, I mean, Jackson did an exceptional job finding the ball, tipping it up, and then Jefferson possessing it.
00:52Herbert throwing deep and incomplete looking for Keenan Allen.
00:56It was Eric Stokes who had the coverage for Las Vegas.
01:01This Raiders defense throughout the course of this season, I think they feel as though they played better than maybe their record has indicated in some of their numbers.
01:12They've been put in some rough situations with turnovers from the offensive side, and we call that sudden change for a defense where, for them, Blue Kelly just comes away with an incredible interception.
01:22And a few plays later, you're back on the field, which are back up against the goal line.
01:27This is where they have to force the offense to kick three.
01:30Haven't heard Vlad McConkie at all in this game so far.
01:33Haven't really gotten to him, number 15.
01:35Doesn't have a catch.
01:36Herbert on third down over the middle.
01:38Well, Keenan Allen is going to be very close to a first down.
01:44Once again, it's amazing that he can find separation on third down when the whole building knows they want to go there.
01:51Andrew, I don't even know if he found separation.
01:53He just found the ball.
01:54That was a crowd of people that ball went into.
01:57And there's such confidence that Keenan Allen will come out with it that Justin Herbert will throw it in there in a spot he wouldn't throw it for a normal receiver.
02:04It is fourth and inches, and L.A. will line up to go for it.
02:09And normally this is sneak territory, but you can't go under center with injury to Herbert.
02:17Vidal.
02:18He is stuffed.
02:20Devin White in the backfield.
02:24And Charles, you made a great point.
02:27Normally you'd have Herbert under center.
02:29Can't do it right now with his finger.
02:32And it's costly for Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers.
02:427-0.
02:43L.A. still in front.
02:45It's the second time today they come up empty in the red zone.
02:50As Devin White made a big play in Las Vegas, takes over at its own 18-yard line.
02:56This Las Vegas offense has got to help their defense with a little bit of a drive.
03:01And at worst, flipped, flipping field position.
03:03They fake the pitch.
03:04Pressure coming.
03:05Geno throws.
03:06Completes it to Tucker.
03:08He's wrecked up by Elijah Molden.
03:10Good pressure as Geno Smith slowly jogs back to the Las Vegas shuttle.
03:18Jason and Andrew, the Las Vegas defense is on the bench right now.
03:22Just getting a fantastic stop on a sudden change.
03:25And all they're thinking is, please, offense.
03:28A couple of first downs.
03:30Try and at least flip field position and get us out from being under siege.
03:35Because right now they are overachieving on the defensive side.
03:39They could use a little bit of a break here.
03:41Time of possession, 18 minutes for L.A. to 5 minutes for Las Vegas.
03:48Here's Gentry.
03:49And Gentry with some nifty moves.
03:52And that extra effort gets him a couple more yards.
03:56A 5-yard gain before Dante Jackson brings him down.
03:59And you can see the difference between college and the NFL.
04:03Because at Boise State, when he goes out the back door like this,
04:07it's 60, 70 yards.
04:08Later, we're looking at him.
04:10Here, someone shows up with a good run fit
04:12and attacks him near the line of scrimmage.
04:15What looked like was going to be a huge play
04:17turned into a third down attempt by the Raiders.
04:20Jesse Minter, the defensive coordinator.
04:23And there's Greg Olson, who's calling the plays for the Raiders today.
04:26Third down and two.
04:29Smith, and he's got the first down.
04:34That's Jack Besch, the second-round pick out of TCU
04:38with just his ninth catch of the year, a gain of 16.
04:43And Greg Olson talked about him getting a few more opportunities.
04:46He's right here in the slot, runs a slant route right across the middle
04:50in front of Gene Olson.
04:51It gives that separation and a softer coverage
04:54and picks up the first down.
04:56And for nothing else, it just gives that Las Vegas defense
04:59a couple of extra minutes on the bench as Gentry with another nice move
05:03and then pushed out of bounds right near the marker by Tony Jefferson.
05:06This is why you stay with running the football.
05:10You can't be discouraged by some one-yard or negative runs.
05:15You've got to stay with it.
05:16And watch a look at the pull here.
05:18And you end up getting capped with the center out in front.
05:21But what a nifty move in the backfield by Gentry.
05:24And then he runs through a little more traffic as well for a nice pickup.
05:28Sets him up at second and very short.
05:30Four minutes to go in the first half.
05:41Back to Gentry.
05:42He's got the first down.
05:44Sneaking through to the 44-yard line.
05:47Let's go back to New York.
05:51NFL Today update.
05:52Here's Adam Schein.
05:53Andrew.
05:54All right, Adam, thank you.
05:55We talked about the offensive lines here in this game.
05:58But the Bills, without both of their starting tackles today,
06:01in Deion Dawkins and Spencer Brown.
06:04Wait, wait, wait, wait.
06:05Back to Gentry.
06:10And it was Justin E. Boydby making the initial contact.
06:15And then Denzel Perriman finishing him off.
06:18We talked before the ball game about what's going to be the philosophy going forward
06:22with Greg Olson now calling plays.
06:24And with all of his experience with Pete Carroll,
06:26you knew that running the football would be a priority.
06:29It looks like they're locked in pretty well now.
06:31And they're getting some help from this offensive line
06:34that's had its share of struggles throughout the year.
06:3740 yards on this drive.
06:39Vegas had 17 total on their first three drives.
06:43Geno to the outside.
06:44Incomplete, but a flag is down.
06:46Intended for Trey Tucker.
06:52Going to be holding on Elijah Molden,
06:54covering Tucker in the slot right there.
06:56Pass interference.
07:02Defense number two.
07:03The ball is placed at the spot of the foul.
07:05With an automatic close down.
07:07Molden was called for pass interference in the end zone
07:10in the last game against Jacksonville.
07:12And he gets called for another one here today.
07:16See the right hand on the shoulder pass.
07:19Tried to impede him as he made his speed cut out away from him.
07:23And when this drive started,
07:25all we wanted to see out of Vegas
07:26and all they wanted,
07:27a couple of first downs,
07:28get some rest for defense.
07:30Now that they're in the high red zone,
07:32they've got to think bigger.
07:33For a team only average of about 15 points a game,
07:36you've got to find a way to get to the end zone.
07:39I'd take a shot at the end zone.
07:43Geno looking to take that shot.
07:45Bowers is down there at the five.
07:47Good call, Jason McCourty.
07:49It's first and goal for Vegas.
07:51A 24-yard gain.
07:54And what we've seen so far
07:55is Brock Bowers lined up in that tight end position.
07:58We said it earlier,
07:58not out as wide as much.
08:01And he's been able to make them pay
08:02down the field on opportunities.
08:05This is a good catch.
08:06DB's hand is right in the pocket.
08:08That's Cam Hart right there.
08:09And Brock Bowers is still able to come away with the catch.
08:13That's a wide receiver one
08:14that is in a tight end's body right there.
08:18Geno Smith, 3-for-3 on this drive for 43 yards.
08:27And we've hit the two-minute warning.
08:30It'll be first and goal when we come back on CBS.
08:347-0 Los Angeles in front.
08:40Coming up, Verizon Halftime Report.
08:41Our crew back in New York
08:43has scores and highlights coming up
08:45on the Verizon Halftime Report.
08:48Vegas offensive line has done a good job on this drive.
08:51Alex Capa at center.
08:53Antonio Mafia at right guard today.
08:55He was elevated off the practice squad yesterday
08:58and gets the start.
08:59Gentry.
09:01Stopped for a loss.
09:08And Los Angeles has called timeout
09:12with 1.53 to go.
09:14There's just nothing but,
09:18what do they call these jerseys, Andrew?
09:21Superchargers.
09:22There's a lot of superchargers in the area on that one.
09:25And not a lot of white shirts out there escorting him.
09:28Once he got out of the backfield
09:30and looked for help, there was none.
09:33Chargers had him outflanked
09:35and ended up making a play for Jesse Minter,
09:37their defensive coordinator.
09:38It would be interesting there, Jason,
09:42if I'm the Raiders,
09:43can I flip formation
09:45and get Bowers one-on-one on the backside?
09:49You know, give me a shot with him
09:51because he is nifty enough
09:53and agile enough
09:54to run any wide receiver route you want by himself.
09:58I just want to get him away from some of that traffic
10:00and make it a one-on-one play.
10:08Los Angeles now out of timeouts.
10:10It's second and goal.
10:13Going with him in a bunch.
10:18And Pete Carroll is on the field
10:21and he calls timeout.
10:23Play clock was winding down.
10:28Minerace, you come out of a timeout
10:29and your play clock winds down on you.
10:33It's one of those mysteries in sports
10:35how those things kind of happen
10:36as you come out of it,
10:37and you already got it going.
10:38And Gino,
10:40almost like he thought
10:41that there was no clock
10:43that we're going to start on the snap.
10:45And I wonder how much of that
10:47just the communication,
10:48Greg Olsen taking over
10:49as offensive coordinator.
10:51There are reports about Chip Kelly
10:53and the communication
10:54and all of those things.
10:55So when you're kind of new,
10:56this week, Greg Olsen,
10:58they're getting used to his voice
10:59being at the top of the room
11:01and the lead of the room
11:02of that communication playing and play out.
11:04Second and goal.
11:09Gino ends a wide open touchdown.
11:12That's Bowers.
11:14His fourth touchdown of the season.
11:18And Gino Smith pumps his fist.
11:20A great drive by Las Vegas.
11:21So they found a way to clear space.
11:28It wasn't just getting him by himself.
11:30And it started with the motion
11:31of one receiver all the way out.
11:34Watch.
11:35So right here,
11:36we're going to get motion
11:36to get him out away from Bowers.
11:39And then that allows Bowers,
11:40well, the motion had already happened
11:42to the top side.
11:43And then Bowers just comes underneath.
11:44They created a one-on-one
11:47by the motion
11:48and the routes
11:49of the complimentary receivers.
11:51Well-well-designed
11:52and well-called, Greg Olsen.
11:56Extra point by Daniel Carlson
11:59is good.
12:00Bowers now with three catches.
12:0257 yards and the touchdown.
12:05Vegas right down the field.
12:07And we are all tied at SoFi.
12:09Bowers with the touchdown,
12:17which continues a remarkable streak.
12:20Every touchdown the Raiders
12:21have scored this year
12:22has been by a player
12:2424 years old or younger.
12:26The only team to go an entire season
12:29with every single touchdown
12:31they scored by a player
12:3224 or younger
12:34in 1934,
12:36Chicago Carpos.
12:39Here's Darius Davis
12:42on the return
12:43across the 30
12:44and out of bounds
12:45at the 35-yard line
12:46with 142 to go.
12:48A return of 31 yards
12:50as we go back
12:51to the touchdown.
12:52Look at what they did.
12:54They just took Tyler Locke
12:55and he ran a short route
12:56underneath.
12:57They had motioned
12:57Trey Tucker
12:58out farther to the sideline
13:00to pull defenders with him.
13:02And that allowed
13:03Brock Bowers
13:03to find that open space
13:05essentially
13:05in a one-on-one route
13:06underneath.
13:07Well done, Greg Olsen.
13:10Take over his play caller
13:11and it's some extra juice.
13:13And I think that the Chargers
13:14squandered the juice
13:15of Herbert coming back
13:16into the game
13:17with the interception
13:18down on the goal line.
13:21Herbert's out there
13:22in trouble.
13:23He sacks.
13:23And it's Max Crosby
13:27with his seventh sack
13:29of the year.
13:30A loss of six
13:31on the play.
13:33If I'm the Chargers
13:33I think I might want
13:34to just get out of here
13:35for the half, guys.
13:37I'm not getting my
13:37quarterback hit anymore.
13:38Go back in and regroup.
13:40Because Matt Crosby
13:41what did he tell us?
13:43We got to get takeaways, guys.
13:44He's coming for the football.
13:45And now some movement
13:47up front
13:47by the Chargers
13:49offensive line.
13:57Third and final team
13:58timeout
13:59North Vegas.
14:00Oh, wow.
14:00So the Raiders
14:02call a timeout first.
14:05And we'll be back
14:06in 30 seconds
14:07after this.
14:14Both teams are out of timeouts.
14:161-19 now on the clock
14:18and it's second down
14:19in 16.
14:23Herbert remains
14:24in the shotgun.
14:25Herbert over the middle.
14:30Gadsden could not hold on.
14:32And then took a big shot
14:33by Devin White.
14:35That stops the clock.
14:37And it's third down and long.
14:39Devin White has certainly
14:40made his presence felt
14:41with his Raiders team
14:42this year, Jason.
14:43Yeah, he's been all over
14:44the field.
14:45He's always been a fast
14:46and athletic linebacker.
14:47We saw the success
14:48he had in Tampa Bay
14:49and now he's been able
14:50to come here
14:51become one of the leaders
14:52on this defense
14:53and become kind of
14:54a tackling machine.
14:55and here for the Chargers.
14:56I would expect him
14:57to hand this ball off
14:58to keep the clock running
15:00and try to take it down
15:01as much as possible.
15:03Herbert started
15:04seven out of seven
15:05since then
15:06with the injury.
15:07He's got one for four.
15:09Throwing on third down
15:10and he's got a completion
15:12short of a first down.
15:14That's Ladd McConkie's
15:15first catch today.
15:17And it's fourth down
15:18and a long one.
15:23I'm getting rid of this thing, man.
15:24Where's my punt team?
15:26Yeah, they're coming
15:26out there now.
15:31Remember, as a player,
15:31you'd always hear
15:32as you were getting
15:33in the second
15:33and third down
15:34and long,
15:35punt team, get ready
15:36on the sideline.
15:37Right now,
15:38Jim Harbaugh's like,
15:38punt team, go.
15:40We are not taking
15:40any chances.
15:41This side of the field,
15:43this late in the half,
15:44get rid of that thing.
15:45First punt today
15:48for J.K. Scott
15:50and Alex Bachman
15:51is back deep
15:52awaiting the punt
15:53at his own 10.
15:56Scott booms one.
15:58Bachman watches it
15:59go over his head
16:00into the end zone
16:01for a touchback.
16:02So with 20 seconds left,
16:04Las Vegas will get the ball
16:06at the 20.
16:07And we're back
16:08in 30 seconds.
16:13Coming up,
16:13Verizon Halftime Report,
16:15J.B., Nate, Matt Ryan,
16:16Coach Cowher,
16:17all the scores
16:17and highlights
16:18coming up
16:18on the Verizon Halftime Report.
16:21Looks like the Raiders
16:22will just take a knee
16:23and go into the locker room
16:25tied at 7.
16:28That last drive
16:30for Las Vegas,
16:319 plays, 82 yards.
16:34Their first three drives,
16:359 plays, 17 yards.
16:37And Pete Carroll's
16:38with A.J. Ross.
16:39Coach, your defense
16:40had two big red zone stops.
16:41Your offense had
16:42a great scoring drive
16:43just before the half.
16:45How do you build on that
16:46and extend time of possession
16:47here in a second?
16:47Well, really,
16:48our defense all year long
16:49has answered
16:49situations like that.
16:51It's a beautiful job
16:52of turning the ball over
16:52and then the sudden change
16:53when we stopped
16:54going fourth down.
16:54Those are huge stops,
16:55but we have been doing that.
16:57So it's kind of
16:57what we expect.
16:58It was great to see us
16:59get the ball down the field
16:59in that situation.
17:00I thought Gino did a good job
17:01and the pass pro
17:02was there for us.
17:02Thank you, Coach.
17:03Appreciate it.
17:04All right, A.J.,
17:05that's the end
17:05of the first half
17:06with the score tied
17:07at seven.
17:07Halftime next
17:08after these first half
17:09highlights from Verizon
17:10and a word
17:12from your local station.
17:15Los Angeles
17:16about to start
17:17the second half.
17:18Raiders and Chargers
17:19tied at seven.
17:21And hi again, everyone,
17:22with Jason McCourty
17:23and Charles Davis.
17:25I'm Andrew Catalan.
17:26We'll hear from A.J. Ross
17:27in a moment.
17:28The Raiders offense
17:29finally got going
17:31late in that second quarter
17:32and a big reason why,
17:33the play of Brock Bowers.
17:35Certainly.
17:35And they complemented
17:36what the defense gave them
17:38with the fourth down stop,
17:39the interception,
17:40and then they gained momentum.
17:42And look,
17:43like any play caller
17:44who's good,
17:45you know who your playmakers are
17:47and you find ways
17:48to get them to football.
17:49Brock Bowers is as good
17:51a playmaker
17:51in the tight end position
17:52as there is in the league.
17:53Find him.
17:54And then what a well-schemed,
17:56well-designed,
17:56well-executed play
17:58to create space
17:59for Brock Bowers
18:00to work unencumbered
18:01into the end zone.
18:02Gino Smith
18:03with a laser shot.
18:05And guess what, folks?
18:06We're tied
18:07despite the fact
18:08the Chargers controlled
18:09most of the first half.
18:11A moment ago,
18:12A.J. with Jim Harbaugh.
18:15Coach,
18:15no one is questioning
18:16Justin Herbert's toughness
18:17still playing
18:18with that left-hand injury.
18:19What more might you need
18:20to see from a protection standpoint
18:21to help him out
18:22here in a second?
18:23Oh, we're, uh,
18:24everybody,
18:25all 30 minutes now.
18:26We're going to play
18:27as hard as they can,
18:27as fast as they can,
18:28as long as they can,
18:29and, uh,
18:31just playing ball.
18:32The Raiders
18:33kind of got into rhythm
18:34there,
18:34tying up the game
18:35before the half.
18:35What are the keys
18:36to stopping them
18:37here in a second?
18:38Yeah, just playing our game.
18:39Be us.
18:40Uh,
18:41feel good about our,
18:42uh,
18:42feel good about our guys,
18:43how they're going to play
18:44this second half.
18:45Thank you, Coach.
18:46Appreciate it.
18:49All right,
18:50there's Jim Harbaugh
18:51and Justin Herbert
18:52will get the football
18:53to begin this second half.
18:55And, Jason,
18:56what, if anything,
18:57has to change
18:58for the Chargers here
18:59knowing the injury
19:00that Herbert's playing through?
19:01Well, it's going to be
19:02interesting in this second half
19:03to see what he can
19:04and what he can't do.
19:05In that first half,
19:06they had a short yardage situation.
19:09Fourth and one,
19:09he didn't get under center.
19:11We saw him hand the ball off
19:12with his right hand
19:13opposed to his left hand
19:14on one play.
19:15It's going to be,
19:15we're going to have to see
19:16the limitations he has
19:17at the quarterback position.
19:20Underway in this second half,
19:22this is Davis
19:22on the return.
19:25Davis turns it upfield
19:26at the 30
19:27and he's down
19:28at the 34-yard line.
19:31So, Herbert,
19:32as we just showed you,
19:339 of 12 for 96 yards
19:35and after that opening drive
19:38touchdown,
19:38it's been pretty quiet
19:39for L.A. on offense.
19:42Ever since Bill Walsh
19:43came into the league
19:44and talked about
19:45scripting plays
19:46and that became
19:46what is in vogue,
19:48Kyle Shanahan
19:49re-scripts it
19:50the half of the 49ers.
19:51I think this half
19:52was very simply
19:53Greg Roman
19:54to Justin Herbert.
19:56What do you believe
19:57you can execute?
19:58And we have to fashion
19:59an offense based on
20:00what you believe
20:01you feel confident
20:02in being able to do
20:03and that's where
20:04they'll go from.
20:08Play action on first down
20:09and Herbert's looking
20:10deep down the field
20:11for Harris
20:12and it's incomplete.
20:14It was Porter,
20:15the rookie
20:16out of Iowa State
20:17who had the coverage.
20:18I feel like this Raiders
20:21team
20:22with the way things
20:23went in the first half
20:24the Chargers
20:26going up and down
20:26the field on them.
20:28Don't have a lot
20:28to show for it.
20:29You would think
20:30that they would have
20:30had more scores
20:31but Pat Graham's defense
20:33got a fourth down
20:34stop.
20:35They got a takeaway
20:36hit the goal line
20:37and right now
20:38the team that is
20:39on his toes
20:40doing the most
20:41punching like a boxer
20:42are the Las Vegas Raiders
20:43right now.
20:44You can see the bounce
20:45in their step,
20:46the extra confidence
20:47they're playing with.
20:49Herbert
20:49and he's got a completion
20:51and that's McConkie
20:53with his second catch
20:54still going.
20:54Now wrestled down
20:55by Jeremy Chin.
20:57It'll bring up
20:58third down and two.
20:59Charles,
21:00you talk about the Raiders.
21:01They have lost
21:02nine straight games
21:03against divisional opponents.
21:05That's the longest
21:06active streak
21:07and their second
21:09longest streak
21:09in franchise history.
21:11And talking to some
21:12of the coaches
21:12before the game
21:13that was one thing
21:14they said.
21:14They want to win a game
21:15for the players.
21:16A lot of these coaches
21:17have been across the league
21:18for a while.
21:19The players they believe
21:20have worked their butts off
21:21and deserve a win.
21:24Here's Vidal
21:25on third down
21:26and he turns it upfield
21:27for a first down.
21:28Still going.
21:29Kamani Vidal
21:30down the sideline
21:31and he has a touchdown.
21:35A 59-yard score!
21:41A career-long run
21:44for Kamani Vidal
21:46and the Chargers
21:47regain the lead.
21:53Take a look
21:54right there
21:54at 68.
21:57Gets the kickout block
21:58on Porter
21:58and Vidal
21:59makes an excellent cut
22:01before the inside pursuit
22:03can get to him.
22:05And then
22:06he hits the home run.
22:09The great nephew
22:09of Hank Aaron
22:10does exactly
22:12like Uncle Hank
22:13would have done
22:14put one over the fence.
22:15What he has done
22:16in the absence
22:17of Omari and Hampton
22:18is a big part
22:19of the Chargers
22:20storyline this season.
22:23Extra point
22:23by Cameron Dicker
22:24is good
22:25and less than a minute
22:27into the second half
22:29Chargers are smiling again.
22:31They lead by seven.
22:33Camani Vidal
22:44with his third
22:45rushing touchdown
22:46of the season.
22:48Doing it in place
22:50of that man
22:50Omari and Hampton
22:51who's hopeful
22:52to be back next Monday
22:54against Philadelphia
22:55as Dicker
22:56kicks it off.
22:57And this is
22:58Laubi on the return.
22:59Nope.
22:59He'll take a knee.
23:00Let's take a look
23:02at some of the early
23:03headlines from the
23:04one o'clock games
23:05in the NFL
23:07and what a win
23:08for the Texans.
23:09They're fourth in a row.
23:10They beat the Colts.
23:12The Jaguars now
23:13because of that
23:14move into first place
23:15in the AFC South
23:16and out here in L.A.
23:18the Rams
23:18not able to get it done
23:20on the road
23:21in Carolina
23:22losing to the Panthers
23:2349ers
23:24over the Browns.
23:26And you take a look
23:27at the updated AFC
23:28playoff picture
23:28with Jacksonville
23:29now taking over
23:30the division lead.
23:32They're in the
23:32three spot
23:33in the AFC.
23:35Just imagine
23:35if Trevor Lawrence
23:36is able to elevate
23:37his play.
23:39Jacksonville feel
23:40real good about
23:41what they've got.
23:42Geno Smith takes
23:43the check down.
23:43Gentie with a stiff arm
23:45and down the sideline
23:46and then knocked down
23:47hard
23:47by Cam Hart.
23:50A seven-yard
23:51pickup for Gentie.
23:53We watched him
23:53in pregame, Jason
23:55warming up
23:56and moving around
23:56and just shorts
23:57and a shirt.
23:58I think we both
24:00had the same reaction
24:01didn't we?
24:02Don't want to tackle
24:02that guy.
24:04That's a daggone short.
24:06That is a human rock
24:08right there.
24:11Quick injury update
24:12for Las Vegas.
24:13Jack Besch
24:14has a chest injury
24:15and his return
24:16is questionable.
24:17and his return
24:21is a real
24:22goal.
24:22And then
24:23Gentie right up
24:24the middle
24:24and stopped
24:26short of a first
24:27down.
24:29Greg Olsen told us
24:31that there's not
24:32so much he can
24:33really change
24:34taking over
24:35as the play caller
24:36now.
24:37This is still
24:37Chip Kelly
24:38beat Carroll offense.
24:39He was just
24:40hoping to
24:41maybe get
24:41Gentie a little
24:42more involved
24:43get Bowers
24:44a little more
24:44involved
24:44and as he said
24:45try to give
24:46this team
24:47some hope
24:47some positive
24:48encouragement
24:49to try to stop
24:50this five-game
24:51losing streak.
24:52And speaking of
24:52hope
24:52there's Caleb
24:53Rodgers
24:54their third-round
24:54pick out of
24:55Texas Tech
24:55finally getting
24:57some run here
24:58at the offensive
24:58guard position
24:59for the Raiders.
25:00First time
25:01he's been
25:01in an NFL
25:02game on
25:03third down.
25:04Smith in trouble
25:05and he's sacked.
25:07Tui Pelotu
25:08in the backfield
25:09and a big play
25:10on third down.
25:13Third sack
25:14today
25:15for the
25:15Los Angeles
25:16defense.
25:18Jesse Minter
25:19just loaded up
25:20with extra people
25:21on the offensive
25:22line
25:22and brought
25:23Tui Pelotu
25:24normally
25:25he comes
25:26from the back
25:27side.
25:28That time
25:28Jason he came
25:29from the front
25:29side.
25:30When you have
25:31that good
25:31chess piece
25:32that you can
25:32use all over
25:33the board
25:33you do so
25:36and you create
25:36big plays.
25:37Gino appeared
25:38to be in a
25:38little bit
25:38of discomfort
25:39on the sideline
25:40that's the
25:4022nd time
25:42he's been hit
25:43in the last
25:44two games.
25:45A.J. Cole
25:46putting to
25:47Davis
25:48and along
25:49the sideline
25:50he's out of bounds
25:51at the 14 yard line.
25:53L.A. getting
25:54the ball back
25:54on offense
25:55they lead
25:56by seven.
26:01And now
26:02holiday highlights
26:03presented by
26:04target
26:05Kamani
26:06Vidal
26:0759 yards
26:09down the sideline
26:10and that's the
26:11difference in the
26:12ball game right now
26:13as Los Angeles
26:14has
26:14a seven point lead.
26:25Nine missed tackles
26:26forced today
26:27that's a career
26:28high
26:28for
26:29Vidal
26:30and L.A. takes
26:32over at its own
26:3314 yard line.
26:38Herbert remains
26:39in the shotgun
26:40and hands off
26:41to Vidal
26:42across the 15
26:43and out close
26:45to the 20.
26:47A.J. Ross
26:47you talked about
26:48at the top
26:49of the ball game
26:50playoff intensity
26:51one game
26:52each time
26:53the whole deal.
26:54Do you feel
26:55that intensity
26:55from the Chargers
26:56and did it pick up
26:57after the Vidal
26:58touchdown?
26:59Oh definitely
26:59that Chargers
27:00sideline was
27:01recharged
27:02after that
27:02Vidal touchdown
27:03and they also
27:04are actually
27:05acting like a team
27:06like they've been
27:06here before
27:07they've been
27:07composed
27:08even when
27:08things weren't
27:09going in their
27:10favor so to speak
27:11in the first half
27:11with those
27:12stops in the
27:13red zone
27:13so yes
27:14Vidal touchdown
27:15definitely
27:15gave them a
27:16bump in
27:17energy
27:17but they've
27:18also just
27:19stayed consistent
27:19throughout Charles.
27:21A.J. Vidal
27:22now over 100 yards
27:23for the third time
27:24in his career
27:25of Herbert
27:25in trouble
27:26and he's sacked
27:26at the bottom
27:30of that pile
27:31was Malcolm
27:32Kuntz
27:33and a loss
27:34of three
27:34on the play
27:35and Jason
27:36don't you think
27:37if you're the Raiders
27:38you've talked
27:39with all that
27:39padding
27:40rake at the ball
27:41rake at the ball
27:41rake at the ball
27:42I want to see
27:43if they're really
27:43trying to attack
27:44that
27:44and you notice
27:45Herbert's
27:46keeping the
27:46off hand away
27:47and just
27:48tucking it
27:49under his right arm
27:50understanding
27:51that that hand
27:52is no use
27:52to him
27:53right now
27:54so that makes it
28:00third down
28:01and eight
28:01third time
28:02Herbert's been sacked
28:03Herbert's standing in there
28:09in trouble
28:09again
28:09and down he goes
28:11Crosby
28:12on third down
28:13he does not play
28:20like a man
28:21on a 2-9 team
28:22does he
28:22that's guaranteed
28:24that motor
28:26never stops
28:27and this was
28:29an effort
28:29by everybody
28:30on the defense
28:31look at the
28:32penetration
28:32that they're all
28:33getting
28:33forcing Justin
28:34Herbert
28:35to step
28:36all the way
28:36up in the pocket
28:37we talked about
28:38the Raiders
28:39offensive line
28:39but this
28:40Chargers
28:40offensive line
28:41has gone
28:41through a lot
28:42of different
28:42changes
28:43it's the reason
28:44Justin Herbert
28:44has been hit
28:45the most
28:45of any quarterback
28:46in the NFL
28:46this season
28:47nice assist
28:48from Waulu
28:48there
28:49number 96
28:50to force him
28:50to step up
28:51as you described
28:52Jason
28:53Boppman on the return

28:55lost his footing
28:58and he stopped

29:13an aerial coverage
29:14of today's game
29:15is provided

29:17Max Crosby

29:24seven sacks

32:00once
32:01Justin
32:02Herbert
32:02once again
32:03under
32:03pressure
32:04in the
32:05story
32:05of his
32:05season
32:0610 out
32:07of 14
32:07today
32:08for 104
32:09yards
32:09play action
32:11on first
32:11down
32:11Crosby's
32:12coming again
32:12Herbert
32:13steps up
32:13eludes
32:14the rush
32:14and he'll
32:15wisely
32:16go down
32:16before
32:17Jeremy
32:17Chin
32:17could hit
32:19him again
32:19but I
32:21think that
32:21Trey
32:22Pipkins
32:23is having
32:23a tough
32:23time
32:24with Max
32:24Crosby
32:25in this
32:25game
32:26and Crosby
32:26just pleading
32:27for a
32:27holding
32:28call
32:28watch out
32:30here
32:30and this
32:31time
32:31I think
32:32it was
32:32Matlock
32:32who ended
32:33up being
32:33it
32:33and Max
32:34Crosby
32:34had a
32:34very
32:35legitimate
32:35case
32:36that he
32:37was held
32:37on that
32:37play
32:38it's tough
32:40enough for
32:41an offensive
32:41tackle
32:42isn't it
32:42Jason
32:42when you
32:43throw a
32:43fullback
32:43out there
32:44on a
32:44pass
32:45rusher
32:45they're
32:46good
32:46blockers
32:47but being
32:47able to
32:47move
32:48their feet
32:48and stay
32:49with them
32:49it's a
32:49lot
32:49harder
32:50task
32:50Vidal
32:51running
32:52left
32:52and caught
32:53from behind
32:54by Jonah
32:55Laulu
32:55and gain
32:57of one
32:57brings up
32:58third down
32:58Crosby
33:01and Justin
33:01Herbert
33:02were having
33:02words in
33:03between
33:03this play
33:04and it
33:04was fun
33:05to talk
33:05to Max
33:05Crosby
33:06before this
33:06game
33:07and when
33:08we chatted
33:08with him
33:08he said
33:09everyone talks
33:09about his
33:10rivalry
33:10with Patrick
33:11Mahomes
33:11but Justin
33:12Herbert
33:13is right
33:13there
33:13and they've
33:14had some
33:14battles
33:14over the
33:15years
33:16and when
33:16you have
33:16a third
33:16and five
33:17situation
33:17you better
33:18believe
33:19knowing where
33:19Max
33:20Crosby
33:20is pre-snap
33:21is going
33:22to mean
33:22a ton
33:22for this
