00:00...маржин of error that we covered in the first half.
00:03And then Brian Flores in this defense got the turnover.
00:06They didn't get anything to show for it.
00:08But I'll tell you, they've continued to give Sam Darnold
00:10in this Seattle offense fits.
00:14Yeah, and it is going to be the Seattle offense
00:17to have it to begin the second half.
00:19And Shahid will take a knee.
00:21And the number's not pretty for either one of these offenses
00:25with those defenses like you're talking about making life tough.
00:28Particularly for the Vikings after they had four yards
00:32in the second half last week in Green Bay.
00:3548 yards in the first half this week.
00:37So over the last game total of action, the last four quarters,
00:4152 yards total.
00:43And this is for an organization known for its offense.
00:47Known for what Kevin O'Connell does with a high-flying group.
00:50It is just unrecognizable.
00:55Seahawks, 30 points per game.
00:57That's good for third in the NFL.
00:59They managed just two field goals in the first half.
01:03Kenneth Walker had a heavy dose early on.
01:05And kind of a quiet second quarter.
01:07Has him in the first play here.
01:08And has a hole.
01:09Look out!
01:10He got tripped up or else it was goodbye.
01:13Harrison Smith saves a touchdown.
01:15But it's a 24-yard run for Kenneth Walker.
01:19Well, it's their first explosive play out of 12 personnel.
01:22Two tight ends.
01:24This time it's just a little toss zone action to Kenneth Walker.
01:27And if Harrison Smith doesn't grab his right arm,
01:30watch Smith just grab Kenneth Walker's right arm when he dives.
01:34He doesn't pull him down by his wrist.
01:37That's a touchdown.
01:38Instead, it's a 24-yard gain.
01:40His eighth run this year of at least 20 yards.
01:42That's top five in the NFL.
01:44Walker again from the 44.
01:50Hit at the line.
01:51Blake Cashman the tackle.
01:52And we go down to the field and check in with Pam.
01:55Hey there, Joe.
01:56Kevin O'Connell told me at the half,
01:57we just got to keep playing.
01:59He felt like Max Grosmer.
02:01He came out and he was playing way too fast.
02:03Felt like he had to settle him down some.
02:06Defensively couldn't be happier.
02:08Overall, just keep stacking up positive things.
02:11For the Seahawks, to my question, Mike McDonald told me that
02:15in terms of just getting them and keeping them off balance offensively,
02:20especially Bromsmer, he said just keep them having to pass the ball.
02:26Defensively, or I should say offensively,
02:28to rest for Sam Darnold most of the game,
02:30McDonald said it is a protection thing, not a Sam thing.
02:34There's time right here.
02:35Whips it outside to Kenneth Walker.
02:36Made a nifty one-handed catch, but there was no room.
02:39Van Ginkle and Rodgers both waiting on him.
02:42Three and ten.
02:44We talked about how the decision of Brian Flores
02:48and how he's going to continue to match this Seattle offense.
02:51They've been historically explosive.
02:52The passing game out of those big personnel groupings.
02:56He almost exclusively, nine out of the ten snaps in the first half
03:00that Seattle came out with multiple tight ends on the field.
03:04Brian Flores stayed base.
03:06He didn't give up one explosive play.
03:08That was the first one on the run play here to start the second half.
03:12So a little bit of a different approach than what we've seen the last couple weeks.
03:15Hard count got him to move.
03:16It's a free play for Darnold.
03:18Looks to take advantage with Smith and Jigba.
03:20It's out of bounds and incomplete.
03:22They'll have a more manageable third down here.
03:24Looks like Jonathan Allen was the man that was pulled off sides.
03:26Seattle with his 13-0 lead, even though Smith and Jigba has been targeted just one time.
03:37Does not have a catch.
03:39We play third down.
03:42Seattle just a little more than two yards per play.
03:45Seattle's offense had given up a total of 11 sacks in 11 games coming in.
03:59Four in the first half of the Minnesota defense, and they got that takeaway they've been searching for.
04:04Couldn't turn it into points, though.
04:06Third and three after the penalty.
04:08Minnesota rushes only four this time.
04:18Walker's open out of the backfield.
04:19Got away from Metellus to get a first down.
04:22Kenneth Walker with five yards on third and three.
04:31So why is it such a big deal how teams defend them?
04:34All right, so this is Seattle all season long.
04:37Out of 12 personnel.
04:39So, yes, in nickel, so with five defensive backs, you're going to give up more.
04:45So 12 personnel, remember, two tight ends.
04:47When you keep five defensive backs on the field, so nickel defense,
04:51you're going to give up a little bit more in the run game.
04:54But when teams have played them base, they've given up 10 yards more per pass.
04:58Walker on the toss.
05:00Wow.
05:00Lowers the shoulder, delivers the boom to Rodgers.
05:03He's a big, strong man, and he showed it right there.
05:08I mean, that was physical.
05:10You talk about being physical on the sideline.
05:14That's teach tape right there.
05:16He's A. Rodgers, number two, coming from his cornerback spot.
05:20Kenneth Walker just ran him over.
05:22Now Rodgers, he's coming off the field.
05:24He needs a minute to either get himself checked out
05:29or just kind of catch his bearings a little bit.
05:31Consider if this football thing's still for him.
05:34He's like, I just want to go out there and guard somebody on the perimeter.
05:37Can't they throw the ball a little bit more?
05:39Split Walker out here and give it right back to him.
05:41That was tipped at the line of scrimmage, as many of these passes have been.
05:45Part of the reason that Darnold is at just 50% today.
05:48On the year, his top five in the NFL, completing 70% of his throws.
05:52Rodgers, Rodgers, back in after one playoff.
05:57Minnesota defenders continue to do a great job at the line of scrimmage,
06:01understanding if you're not going to get to the quarterback,
06:03which they've done a fair share in the first half,
06:05they've gotten their hands on so many balls, deflected,
06:09forced a lot of incompletions right at the line of scrimmage.
06:13Another good game for Dallas Turner.
06:14He's got two sacks.
06:15He's forced two fumbles.
06:16He tipped the ball right there, third and six.
06:19First drive of the second half, and another free play coming here.
06:24Gernard came flying off sides, and they'll blow it dead.
06:26He is unimpeded to the quarterback.
06:30And this is going to make it third down and about one.
06:33So back-to-back times now.
06:35Minnesota has forced third and pass.
06:38And the first half, it looked like Gernard jumped the snap.
06:49He ran right by Abe Lucas to force that Wilson sack.
06:53Now, Seattle said, all right, we're not going to let this guy just continue to time us up.
06:57We're going to go on a hard count.
06:58And like we're saying, it's now twice in a row.
07:02Third and pass has turned into third and medium.
07:03In this case, third and short.
07:07And they're going to get the barnyard formation or show it.
07:11Motion out of it.
07:12Darnold comes under center.
07:13They're oohing and ahing, saying something a little bit different off of this.
07:17Bootleg.
07:17Darnold in trouble.
07:19Hit again and incomplete.
07:21Josh Metellus all over the place for Minnesota.
07:24And it's fourth down and one.
07:28Instead of going for it, the field goal team comes out.
07:32More conservative game managing from Mike McDonald.
07:36Yeah.
07:37Kind of figured once you go third and short play action, you're telling yourself,
07:41all right, we got fourth down if we fail.
07:44So, think about the final minute 50 of the first half.
07:48And now how the first part of the third quarter has started.
07:51And see if he makes this field goal.
07:54If he does, it's only six total points.
07:56It's not an easy one.
07:57It's 54.
07:58But he's got enough.
08:00As steady as they come.
08:03Jason Myers, instead of going for it on fourth down and one,
08:05they kick the field goal.
08:06And yeah, it gets you six points out of those two drives.
08:09And so, the rookie who already had a tall ask today.
08:13A tall hill to climb down 16-0.
08:20He's just been really distant lately.
08:23Quarter of this game, two targets apiece.
08:26Jefferson and Smith and Jigba.
08:27No catches for the guy that has led the NFL in receiving the last five years of Jefferson.
08:32And the guy leading the league this year in Smith and Jigba.
08:35Jason Myers has been all the offense.
08:37Three field goals.
08:39A 16-0 lead.
08:41And the Vikings did get it for the first time in this half.
08:45Miles Price.
08:48To the 33.
08:50So, we're talking about the conservative play calling from Mike McDonald.
08:54Play calling, game management here.
08:56Settling for the two field goals.
08:57But they just don't feel like Minnesota is a threat.
09:00But it's clear.
09:01I think if they felt this was a different offense, this was a different game, I think he would
09:06have approached the end of the first and the start of the second halves a little bit
09:10differently.
09:10I think he looks at a 16-point lead.
09:13His defense at home against this Vikings young quarterback.
09:16And he, it might as well be 40.
09:19Right?
09:19It just, it feels like 16 points.
09:21I don't know how they score 16 points at this point.
09:24Aaron Jones.
09:26Hit in the backfield and dropped by Ernest Jones.
09:29Had the pick six in the first half.
09:31Got a tackle for loss right here.
09:33Different quarterback, but same story today.
09:35J.J. McCarthy out with a concussion.
09:38Brosmer getting his first career start.
09:39He's been sacked a couple of times.
09:42Kevin O'Connell told Pam Oliver at halftime the game.
09:44Just moving too fast for him.
09:45Playing too fast.
09:469 out of 15 with that critical pick.
09:50And, again, for as bad as things have looked, that critical pick, it was the only touchdown
09:56of the entire game.
09:57So, with that being said, just find a way to get some positive completions here.
10:02Don't go in a shell and turn this thing into a run fest.
10:06Keep the Seattle defense honest.
10:09Floats one for Hawkinson, and the first big play in the pass game for the Vikings today.
10:14T.J. Hawkinson down the chute for 33.
10:19The loudest cheerleader over there for the Vikings, McCarthy.
10:22Nick Emanwari, the young rookie, who I really like.
10:26I think he's got a really bright future.
10:28Kind of a hybrid type player.
10:30Working on Hawkinson, and good recognition and timing from Brosmer there.
10:35Getting the ball out of his hand up and down before the safety can get out of the middle of the field.
10:40Hawkinson been his favorite target today, and there is J.J. McCarthy rooting on his buddy Brosmer.
10:46Blitz is coming.
10:54They run into it, and boy, they pay the price.
10:57Drake Thomas, who's come out of nowhere this year, to not just take over a starting job, but to be really, really good.
11:04Yeah, I think, you know, we talk about all the star players, the names, right?
11:08The Demarcus Lawrences and the Witherspoons, but Drake Thomas, I mean, guys that no one really had heard of.
11:15Special teams, reserve type players, and that's what's remarkable about the job that Mike McDonald's done with his defense.
11:22It's, yeah, Leonard Williams, we know he's a great player.
11:25It's been for a long time.
11:26And he's getting so much out of guys before the season who are not household names.
11:32Well, that's seven starters missed time with an injury.
11:35There's only two teams in the league that have had more.
11:37Again, over the middle.
11:38Too tall for Jefferson and off of the hands of Joe.
11:41Joe, third and 14.
11:45Goes back to what you were talking about earlier, John Schneider, the way that he's put this together, his 16th season run in the show.
11:51It's not just been the draft, but it's been the depth.
11:53It's been the undrafted guys that he's brought in, like Okada, like Drake Thomas, both turning into starters.
12:00Right now, Kevin O'Connell's got to be in his ear, saying, check down, get the ball, move it forward.
12:06Either give us an opportunity at fourth down, or attempt a long field goal.
12:10No sacks, just get a completion.
12:13On third and 14.
12:16He's got time.
12:16He does check it down.
12:17Jones.
12:19Hit from behind.
12:21Ball is out.
12:21Lawrence forces another turnover.
12:24Okada's on top of it.
12:27Demarcus Lawrence.
12:29Tank in his 12th year.
12:32There were questions about how much was left in the tank.
12:41Him coming over from Dallas.
12:43He missed most of last year with a broken foot.
12:46He has looked rejuvenated.
12:47He has looked as dominant as ever.
12:50Demarcus Lawrence and the Seahawks defense take a bow.
12:547-yard line.
12:59Walker's got it with flags flying all over the place.
13:07They're going to get Seattle here for an illegal shift.
13:10I don't think they came set.
13:12Illegal shift.
13:13Offense.
13:14Number 10 did it get reset before the snap.
13:17The 5-yard penalty.
13:18So first down.
13:19Go back to the takeaway, though.
13:20Alright, so if you're a young defensive player
13:23and you want to look at what high-level NFL football looks like,
13:28take a look here at Demarcus Lawrence.
13:29So Aaron Jones, the running back, who ends up catching the ball.
13:32He chips him.
13:33He is 10 yards away from the ball on the ground.
13:38He could have easily stood up and just watched the play
13:40and said, alright, field goal unit, come on.
13:42Not only does he make the play from behind,
13:44he forces the takeaway.
13:47I mean, it's just impressive effort, relentlessness.
13:50I mean, at this stage in his career, he's remarkable.
13:53First down and long.
13:54Screen for Barner.
13:55The tight end has some room.
13:56A.J. Barner to the 45.
14:00We asked Mike McDonald about Demarcus Lawrence,
14:02and he said he might be the best practice player
14:04that he's ever been around.
14:06And he said he's a football savant,
14:07and you admire him from afar.
14:09A decade with the Cowboys,
14:10but he said being around him,
14:12it now all makes total sense.
14:13Yeah, you want to be a great team.
14:15Your best players have to be your best practice guys.
14:18They set the culture.
14:19They set the attitude and expectation.
14:21You're a young D lineman,
14:22and you watch Demarcus Lawrence on a Wednesday
14:24when he's sore and he's tired,
14:26and he's going a million miles an hour.
14:28How do you not do the same?
14:29And on offense, Jackson Smith and Jigba,
14:31albeit younger,
14:32he sets the tone for Seattle on the other side.
14:36Walker slipped the tackle.
14:38Got a first down.
14:39Kenneth Walker touched it on each of the first three plays of the game,
14:58kind of went away after that,
15:00but a heavy dose here early on in the second half.
15:04Takes the fake this time.
15:05Barner in the flat.
15:07A.J. Barner,
15:08second-year man from Michigan,
15:09is getting better and better
15:11in a bigger and bigger part of this offense.
15:13And just how about the job Clint Kubiak's doing?
15:16First half,
15:17you're having some trouble with this front.
15:19Balls are being deflected.
15:20There's a lot of bodies at the line of scrimmage.
15:23They're used to throwing the ball over your head.
15:25That ball's deflected again,
15:27even though it's completed.
15:28So now it's become play action,
15:30get layers,
15:31and then get the ball out.
15:32Screens,
15:33check downs,
15:34and get the yards after the catch.
15:36Second and short.
15:37Walker
15:38has the first down.
15:40Stopped by Eric Wilson.
15:43I mean,
15:43you mentioned it earlier,
15:44but you think about how good the Seahawks team ultimately could be.
15:47They're already in the conversation for best team in the NFL.
15:50The record would tell you that.
15:51You don't have to argue much,
15:52but
15:53that is with 20 turnovers.
15:55Only the Vikings have turned it over more.
15:57If you can get rid of those,
15:59you can't find a weakness.
16:01Yeah,
16:01and you want to get rid of them,
16:02though,
16:02without losing your aggressiveness.
16:04Without you losing what makes you you.
16:06Of course,
16:06and as an offense,
16:07when you know your defense is so good,
16:09conventional wisdom says,
16:10don't mess it up.
16:11My take is,
16:12if I know my defense is great,
16:14I'm going to take more chances on offense.
16:16Smith and Jibba,
16:17covered by Murphy.
16:19Flags fly.
16:20Looks like they're going to get Murphy here,
16:22who drove him out of bounds.
16:25And then the penalties piling up on Minnesota.
16:32Defense number seven.
16:34The five-yard penalty automatic first down.
16:36Seattle.
16:39And it's just starting to pile up here for
16:41the Vikings on defense.
16:44It's one thing trying to be physical
16:46at the line of scrimmage with Jackson Smith and Jibba.
16:49You don't want him to get speed into the coverage.
16:52He can do so much damage at that intermediate
16:54and deep layers of the defense.
16:57And just too much contact downfield
17:00with the ball in the air.
17:03Easy call.
17:05Smith and Jibba still looking for his first catch of the day.
17:07Still finding a way to make an impact, though.
17:11Automatic first down there.
17:12Ball inside the 35.
17:14Headed off to Walker.
17:21And the flag at the line of scrimmage.
17:23Walker to the 27.
17:24Sounds like it's going to be offsides on Minnesota.
17:43It'll be the fourth one lined up in the neutral zone.
17:49Offside defense number 90 lined up in the neutral zone.
17:52Five-yard penalty.
17:54Still first down.
17:55Seventh Minnesota penalty.
17:57It's checking with Pam Oliver.
17:58Yeah, Joe.
17:59Aaron Jones was in agony after that play
18:01that resulted in the fumble.
18:03But he did not and would not go into the medical tent
18:06for the longest time.
18:08It's like the athletic medical staff had to cajole him.
18:10He's finally in there.
18:11Unsure of exactly what the injury is.
18:14At this point, we will get that to you.
18:16And I will come upstairs, Joe.
18:18Okay, Pam.
18:18Right on brand there for Aaron Jones.
18:20As tough as they come.
18:21And Darnold giving time.
18:23There's Smith and Jigba with his first catch of the day.
18:25Tiptoes by Rodgers for a first down.
18:28Jackson, Smith, and Jigba.
18:30An historically good season.
18:32Already the best season in franchise history
18:34in terms of receiving yards.
18:36And could he make a run for the all-time NFL record?
18:40Which would be pretty remarkable.
18:41As we said earlier in the game,
18:43nobody runs the ball at a higher clip.
18:46Only team over half their plays are on the ground.
18:49So for him to do this with such a high target share
18:52and such a high percentage of volume of this passing game
18:55would be pretty remarkable.
18:57And remember, some of those teams Calvin Johnson was on,
18:59they're playing from behind.
19:00They're thrown for a bazillion yards, losing.
19:03To do it in this system is pretty incredible.
19:05Charbonnet on the toss.
19:06Stacked up.
19:09Van Ginkle.
19:10In there to get him.
19:12Well, one of the ways, or really the way,
19:15that you're able to be in a run-heavy offense
19:17and put up historic numbers
19:18is that he gets a higher percentage of his team's receiving yards
19:22than any player in a half century.
19:25So when they throw it, it typically is to him.
19:27Right.
19:27Everybody sitting at home is going,
19:29well, you know he's their main target.
19:31You know he's pretty much the main,
19:33you know, the only target to a degree
19:34that really generates those.
19:36So how come defenses don't stop him?
19:38And the answer is
19:39because you don't know where he's going to align.
19:40You don't know where he's going to start
19:42or stop in the formation.
19:43And it's easier said than done.
19:47Walker, keep it on the ground.
19:48There came Wilson around the edge
19:49to get him at the line of scrimmage.
19:51And it's like, where did he come from?
19:53You know, two years where he was good.
19:55But like you mentioned earlier,
19:57DK Metcalf was here.
19:58Tyler Lockett was here.
19:59He was the third guy.
20:00Yeah, and he was an interior player, right?
20:01He was the third.
20:02He was the slot.
20:03He wasn't on the field in first and second down
20:05if they weren't in 11 personnel,
20:07meaning three receivers.
20:09So DK Metcalf, he's gone.
20:12Tyler Lockett, he's gone.
20:13And then it cleared the way
20:14for him to be their true clear-cut number one receiver.
20:18And then Cooper Cupp and the rest of the group
20:20can kind of fill in.
20:22But he can line up anywhere on the field
20:24and run the entire route tree.
20:26And there's very few guys can do that.
20:28On third and ten, that's a slant to Shahid.
20:32He's got it, but it's well short of the first down.
20:34It'll be fourth down and about three.
20:36And another field goal attempt coming right here.
20:39The fans getting a little bit frustrated.
20:41Yeah, they've got the lead, but they're getting greedy.
20:43They see their Seahawks are a good team,
20:45and they want to do more than just win.
20:48Take a look here.
20:49I think he holds on.
20:53Rashid Shahid, they picked him up in a trade.
20:55Has a lot of familiarity with Clint Kubiak.
20:57They were together last year in New Orleans with the Saints.
21:00And it's like they're walking back.
21:03They might call this incomplete.
21:05They're going to say that ball hit the ground.
21:07An incomplete pass turns up fourth down from the previous spot.
21:11All right, so they're going to say...
21:12So remember, the ball is allowed to hit the ground.
21:15It just has to be secured the entire time.
21:17So it's going to be the difference of a few yards here.
21:21But to finish that point on Shahid, like, he's the downfield threat.
21:24He's the deep ball guy.
21:25So more and more receivers that they can send into the coverage layers
21:29just going to continue to free up more opportunities for Jackson Smith and Jigba.
21:35Speaking of opportunities, a bunch of them for Jason Myers.
21:39Came into the game already leading the NFL in made field goals,
21:42and he's looking for his fourth make today.
21:48Despite the offense not scoring a touchdown,
21:51it's a 19-0 lead for Seattle.
21:58It's a two-match up in the Big Ten title game.
22:01Heisman hopefuls going head-to-head.
22:03Julian Sane, top-ranked Ohio State,
22:05dispatched Michigan yesterday.
22:07Fernando Mendoza, number two, Indiana.
22:10Coverage starts at 6.30 Eastern on Fox next Saturday.
22:15This is Big Ten country here.
22:18As hard as that is to believe.
22:19Yeah.
22:20Washington and Oregon playing not too far from here yesterday.
22:24The Ducks taking down the Huskies.
22:29Seahawks 19-0 over the Vikings.
22:31Try to get to 9-3, which would match them with the Rams and the Bears
22:35for the top records in the NFC.
22:37Price on the return.
22:41Price bottled up at the 32.
22:43We promised you more on Aaron Jones.
22:45Pam, you've got the latest.
22:47Yes, Aaron Jones.
22:48He just emerged from the medical tent.
22:50The Vikings tell me that he has a shoulder injury.
22:53His return is questionable.
22:54When he came out, he threw his gloves down onto the bench.
22:57He's just now putting on a helmet, but he is listed as questionable.
23:02So, Vikings offense already without their top two offensive linemen left side of the line.
23:06Derisaw out today.
23:07Jackson out today.
23:09Jefferson hasn't done anything.
23:11Jones is hurt.
23:12Addison's dropped a couple balls.
23:14That's the support Max Brosmer's getting in his first career start.
23:17Hands it off to Jordan Mason for a few.
23:26Yeah, it's time for a game break.
23:27Hello, Carissa Thompson.
23:28Hello, Joe.
23:29Chargers still in the mix for that AFC West and holding on to that wild card spot.
23:33First drive, second half.
23:34Kamani Vidal races to the end zone.
23:3659-yard score.
23:38Chargers lead 14-7 over the Raiders.
23:41Joe.
23:43All right, Carissa Brosmer back across his body for Hawkinson, who got planted.
23:47By Jones.
23:49Third down.
23:51Yeah, at some point, think if I'm Kevin O'Connell, I'm taking number 18, Justin Jefferson.
23:57I'm going to line him to pick a side.
24:00Left, right, it doesn't matter.
24:01And I'm telling the play is everybody block and just throw the ball to Justin Jefferson.
24:07And the worst case that can happen is it's incomplete.
24:09You punt.
24:10At some point, you've got to offload this offense to your best players and say,
24:16if we're going to go down, let's go down with our best guys at least being the intent of the play.
24:22He's the motion man here to the top of the screen.
24:24Brosmer has Hawkinson again for a first down.
24:28As you saw, he's never had a game in his six years in the NFL where he hasn't had a catch for the first three quarters.
24:33A frustrating year has continued today.
24:37And there was hope for him and I think for the whole team that it would be different today,
24:40that Brosmer would be a spark that they had been lacking with J.J. McCarthy learning on the job as well.
24:46And the frustrations mounting.
24:47Yeah, we asked Kevin O'Connell about it.
24:49He says he is absolutely the beacon of positivity that he looks to be.
24:54But he's also, and this is the underrated part, one of the most competitive people he's ever met.
24:59And so you know how difficult this year has been on number 18.
25:03Brosmer finds Jefferson and his first catch goes for a loss of a few.
25:08And he gets thrown down at the end of the play by Eamon Worry.
25:11Eamon Worry, that'll make it a first down.
25:14Unnecessary right there after a loss of four.
25:21Eamon Worry just getting carried away there.
25:25You gotta stop for a loss.
25:28Do a great job reading.
25:29They're trying to get a little bubble pump to Hawkinson.
25:32And they don't bite on it.
25:34So he's got no choice but to check it down.
25:36And after the play, personal foul on this very roughness defense.
25:4115-yard penalty for the catch spot.
25:43First down.
25:46Number three.
25:48So Jefferson finally gets his hands on the ball.
25:50He lost yards.
25:51But with a penalty, it becomes a first down.
25:55Justin was saying, I want to get back.
25:56He said, don't get me wrong, still love football.
25:58But I want to get back to that feeling like I'm a kid out there playing the game.
26:02And, I mean, shoot, that's going to be hard to do when you're having the kind of season they're having.
26:07Especially when you're accustomed to being a top-five passing offense.
26:09We showed that graphic in the first quarter.
26:12This has been a pass-heavy and very successful passing team under Kevin O'Connell.
26:17And now it's the complete opposite.
26:20Rosemar lets it rip.
26:21Too tall and picked off by Kobe Bryant.
26:25Wounded nailer.
26:26Sailed it to Bryant.
26:28Third turnover for the Vikings.
26:30Third pick this season for the former Cincinnati Bearcat.
26:43Kobe Bryant, the interception.
26:45All Seattle today.
26:47You all tucked in?
26:54Yeah.
26:54Okay.
26:55In the great green room, there was...
26:58Seahawks with the lead and with the ball again.
27:01Defense again.
27:02Helping overcome things for the Seahawks on a day where the offense has not found the end zone.
27:07Kenneth Walker on the pitch for the head of steam to the 25.
27:10And back to the interception.
27:11Yeah, so, again, you're losing.
27:13You're down three scores.
27:14You're trying to force it.
27:16But just watch the depth from the linebackers, Thomas and Jones.
27:21This ball just can't be thrown.
27:23You're not...
27:24With the depth of Ernest Jones, you're never going to get the ball up and down.
27:27Just check it down.
27:28He's got Hawkinson.
27:29He's got Mason underneath.
27:31Just let them catch and run.
27:33But, again, it's easier said than done.
27:35These are the first live bullets he's ever faced, let alone against this defense, this speed, on the road.
27:42It's a lot of hard lessons being learned here by the young quarterback.
27:46In the hands of Smith and Jigba.
27:48Runs by Rogers.
27:49Makes a move on Smith.
27:51And rumbles to the 43.
27:53Van Ginkle tracks him down.
27:5518 yards for Smith and Jigba.
27:58And that'll bring this third quarter to a close.
28:00All Seahawks on the verge of moving to 9-3.
28:08And handing the Vikings a fourth consecutive defeat.
28:17On to the fourth quarter we go at Lumen Field in Seattle on a crisp finish to November.
28:23Temperature down in the low 40s this weekend.
28:27Seahawks have it.
28:28It's Zach Charbonnet.
28:29Yeah, and it's Eric Wilson who's had a heck of a game.
28:32Punch into the ball and settling for another tackle for loss.
28:35Eric Wilson, the veteran linebacker.
28:37Who's been a star of the show on this Minnesota defense.
28:41Which has carried its end of the bargain.
28:44But the offense, more frustrations today.
28:47Justin Jefferson, just the one catch.
28:50And no points.
28:52So now the last two games for the Vikings.
28:54No touchdowns.
28:56Total of two field goals.
28:5773, beg your pardon, 83 total yards today after they had four in the second half against Green Bay.
29:11Walker motions out.
29:12Second and 14.
29:13And Darnold has to kill it.
29:15Pressured by Jonathan Allen.
29:17Another game break.
29:18Hello again, Carissa.
29:19Hello again, Joe.
29:20So, Bills barely hanging on to that playoff spot right now.
29:23Trailing 7-3 third quarter.
29:25Joey Bosa.
29:26Huge sack fumble on Aaron Rodgers.
29:28Christian Benford scoops it up and scores.
29:31Aaron Rodgers would lead the game.
29:33As you can see there, all banged up.
29:34Mason Rudolph in at quarterback right now for Pittsburgh.
29:37Bills lead 10-7, Joe.
29:38We're headed to Buffalo next week.
29:41Bills and Bengals.
29:43Allen and Burrow.
29:44Who would have thought?
29:45A couple weeks since he came back.
29:47He had a good week in his return.
29:49And Buffalo's still not quite sure what they want to be.
29:52But they seem to kind of hold serve.
29:55And that's going to be a fun one up in Buffalo.
29:57Here's Shahid handed off to him.
29:59Trying to get him involved any way they can.
30:01And he gets a solid game.
30:02But well shy of a first down.
30:04I don't know who's good in the AFC.
30:07Like who wants it?
30:08It's up for grabs.
30:09I mean, if you would have told everyone to start the season.
30:12That the New England Patriots would be back.
30:14They say, what is this, 2005?
30:16Right?
30:17Tom Brady ain't walking through that door.
30:19Denver.
30:20I mean the Chargers.
30:21They look like they're going to be in the mix.
30:23I mean that.
30:23Colts.
30:25Indianapolis.
30:25And again, a lot of Indy connections for Vikings fans.
30:29We talked about Daniel Jones.
30:31Tried to re-sign him in Minnesota.
30:33He chooses to go compete for a job with Anthony Richardson.
30:36Wins it.
30:36They're having a great year.
30:37They lost again today though.
30:39The Texans are starting to look like a problem.
30:41How good is that defense?
30:42Yeah.
30:43Therein lies the problem.
30:45Plunt bounces under the cover man right there.
30:48Nehemiah Pritchett into the end zone for a touchback.
30:51Take a break.
30:52Back in a moment.
30:53The Apple A-19 Pro Chip is vapor-cooled because...
31:03John Robinson had a big day but a losing effort against the Jets.
31:07The Jaguars roll over the Titans.
31:09Kobe Myers had a big day.
31:11Early on fourth quarter.
31:13Vikings looking for their first points of the day.
31:16That is C.J. Hamm with a rare touch.
31:19So C.J. Hamm has as many catches.
31:23I beg your pardon, Xavier Scott has as many catches as Justin Jefferson in this game.
31:28Second and six.
31:33They got four right there.
31:41Another pick for Ernest Jones.
31:43Broken up by Jobe.
31:45And then Ernest Jones got his second pick of the day.
31:49His fifth of the year.
31:53It's the third interception thrown by Brosmer.
31:55And it's a four-turnover day for the offense that turns it over more than any other on the year.
32:03Oh, Seattle having a good time on this holiday weekend.
32:07Seahawks fans are.
32:15The franchise is going to be the quarterback.
32:17He's the face.
32:18And he has suffered from what they've had at quarterback this year.
32:22Been a lonely year for him.
32:23Yeah, he's done an amazing job at keeping a brave face on, supporting the quarterbacks that have been in there.
32:29But I've got to figure that frustration has an end point.
32:33That patience has an end point.
32:35Charbonnet scoots through inside the 25.
32:39Again, these are just such great examples.
32:41The game is over.
32:43It's easy to just jog around.
32:44We showed you Demarcus Lawrence and the effort that he played with.
32:48When this ball is thrown, look how far Ernest Jones is away.
32:51But when you run to the ball and you play with great effort through, good things happen.
32:56I mean, he can stand there, watch the ball.
32:58It gets knocked down and falls incomplete.
33:00And you go and you give your guy a high five and you go to the next down.
33:04Run to the ball.
33:05Play with great effort.
33:06Good things happen when you do.
33:08And there's been a million examples today for Seattle of them doing just that.
33:12Eight yards on first down on second and two.
33:15Charbonnet again.
33:16He got tackled by a blitzing Murphy from his corner spot.
33:20Injury report down to Pan.
33:22Yeah, Joe.
33:22Now the Vikings have lost their center.
33:24Ryan Kelly has a hip injury.
33:27He will not play anymore today because of this.
33:29Holy cow.
33:30So already down the left tackle, down the left guard.
33:32Now down Kelly who's missed a lot of this season with concussion issues.
33:36Kevin O'Connell must feel like he's in the twilight zone.
33:39I mean, the success, think about this, since 2022, only two teams,
33:44only two coaches have won more games than Kevin O'Connell, the Lions, and the Eagles.
33:50I mean, they're accustomed to winning.
33:51They're accustomed to playing good offense.
33:53And this has been a nightmare.
33:55Charbonnet stopped short.
33:58Defenses continue to play well for the Vikes.
34:01Levi Drake Rodriguez, second year man at a Texas A&M Commerce.
34:06Yeah, and it's fourth and short.
34:09Crowd saying, come on, can we get at least one touchdown out of you guys today?
34:12Just go for it once.
34:14And I do think for as much as this game is in hand, right, they could kick 100 field goals.
34:19They don't even need to score a point.
34:21I do think at some point, though, to build a little confidence for your offense,
34:26for as good as the defense has been, finish a drive, convert in the red zone,
34:32disregard the scoreboard, go finish with a touchdown.
34:36I feel like even though the game is well out of hand, there is some value to that.
34:41And this is not unique today.
34:42They go for it on fourth down less than anybody.
34:45Have not gone for it on fourth down today.
34:47First time out.
34:48Just made 30 seconds time out.
34:49Mike McDonald taking over for Pete Carroll, 14 years as the head coach.
34:56It was one of those reigns that it felt like it's never going to end.
34:59And when it started to look like it would, oh boy, trouble.
35:02But McDonald's come in, and after starting four and five with that shadow looming over him,
35:07he's won 14 of his last 20 games, and he and the Seahawks have a lot to be thankful for.
35:12Sam Darnold, a huge part of this season they're having.
35:14Signing that contract.
35:16Clint Kubiak pairing it with a new O.C., one of the top offenses in the NFL.
35:21We saw Demarcus Lawrence, everything he's done today.
35:24What a season he's had.
35:25Hitting in free agency there as well.
35:27Jackson Smith and Jigba, his breakout season.
35:30Might have heard the roar of the crowd there a second ago.
35:32Well, that was because Mike McDonald changed his mind.
35:35He'll send the offense out there for their first fourth down attempt today.
35:38Yeah, we're sitting, we're, our booth is right behind the Seahawks' sideline.
35:43And you can see Mike McDonald, he was talking to his coaches and Kubiak saying,
35:47kind of feel like we should go for it.
35:49Took the timeout, reconsidered.
35:51He'll go for it, the throw for it with A.J. Barner and convert.
35:56On fourth and one, Barner gets two.
35:58Remember, when games get tight, as this season wraps up,
36:03they're going to have a big contest at the end of the season here against the Rams.
36:06Likely could determine the winner and who gets home field.
36:10And a lot of playoff implications there as the NFC West comes into picture.
36:14But you get into the playoffs, field goals are going to get you beat.
36:19We've seen that time and time again.
36:21Developing that mentality, that fourth and short, third and short,
36:24those are critical moments for the offense, especially with how good this Seattle defense is.
36:30Give the offense the opportunity to convert.
36:34Charbonnet on first and ten.
36:36Knives his way through for a solid gain and another game break with Carissa Thompson.
36:41Thank you so much, Joe.
36:42We're checking in on the AFC for you here.
36:43Justin Herbert, third down, finds Ladd McConkie for the seven-yard strike.
36:47Chargers lead 21-7 over the Raiders.
36:50Meanwhile, Buffalo with a 10-7 lead over the Steelers, fourth and one.
36:55Josh Allen scrambles, finds Keon Coleman for the touchdown to extend their lead.
36:5916-7 Aaron Rodgers back in the game for Pittsburgh.
37:02Joe?
37:04Sean McDermott saying we don't want a field goal right here.
37:06Doesn't help us a lot.
37:07Going for it.
37:08And Josh Allen making a play.
37:1117-7 bills ahead of the Steelers.
37:1418-0 here in Seattle.
37:15Second and six for the Seahawks.
37:17Charbonnet again.
37:18Over the left side.
37:20Breaks the tackle.
37:21Gallup's free.
37:22Touchdown.
37:23First one of the day for the Seahawks offense.
37:28I can tell you what.
37:31Kubiak and Sam Darnold and this entire offense, they're going to walk in the locker room after
37:36this game and say, we feel a little bit better.
37:39And I know it's one drive of a runaway, but watch Caller Up and Barner here on the outside.
37:45They've had a lot of success today running the ball behind multiple tight end formations.
37:52Extending the surface of the offensive line.
37:54Guard, tackle, tight end, tight end.
37:57Run to that four-man side.
37:58They've had a lot of success.
37:59And they finally get their first touchdown.
38:02And that's why Caller Up's on the field.
38:04He didn't have a ball thrown to them all year, but he's 6'6", 270 pounds.
38:08One of the best blocking tight ends in the league.
38:11Blocked everybody on that play.
38:13Charbonnet's got his eighth touchdown.
38:19Staycations are way better than vacations.
38:20You don't go anywhere.
38:21We stay in a fancy hotel and we never leave.
38:23If you get...
38:24...for the foul there.
38:24So the kick's going to come from the 50.
38:26And we've seen teams, when they've kicked from the 50, intentionally kick it out of bounds.
38:30Because the rule is not that you get the ball to the 40 when the ball goes out of bounds.
38:34The rule is that you get it 25 yards from where it was kicked.
38:37So they're saying, hey, we'll intentionally boot it out of bounds and give the ball to the team at the 25-yard line.
38:42All Seahawks in this game.
38:4426 to nothing.
38:46As the offense finds the end zone for the first time.
38:51There's a little wobbler that'll do exactly what they wanted.
38:54Out of bounds, ball to the 25.
38:58We're talking about how wide open the AFC is.
39:01It's the Patriots with 10 wins leading everybody across the NFL.
39:05Who saw that coming?
39:06You got the Broncos 9-2.
39:08I mean, anybody's guess is as good as anybody else's who's going to come out of this group.
39:13And the advantage when you get to the playoffs.
39:15You know, is there one team in the AFC that you say, hey, we don't want to see them.
39:20We don't know if we can beat them.
39:21It feels like all those teams, for the most part, are all kind of in the same bucket.
39:28Pretty interesting.
39:29How about the Ravens at 6-6?
39:33Could they still sneak up on some people?
39:35I mean, they lost the other night by turning the ball over a million times.
39:38Yeah, think of Lamar Jackson.
39:39He's got to get gold.
39:41He's got to get back to the Lamar MVP-type player that we've seen since he's come back from injury.
39:48That just offense doesn't look the same.
39:52Good run right here for Jordan Mason.
39:54Spills forward for a first down.
39:55You know, for these Vikings handed over to Brozmer today, the hope was that they'd get a spark.
40:02And you look at where they're at.
40:05It's looked much the same as now Mason is hurt.
40:08Again, they already lost Aaron Jones.
40:10And this is just ridiculous, these injuries.
40:12Now, if you're Kevin O'Connell, at some point you start saying, all right, whatever starters I do have left, it's 26-0.
40:19The game's been over for a while.
40:21Just to save some bodies going forward at this late stage in the season, it's always the...
40:26So he kind of took that big helmet from Taya Cotta, the safety, who was questionable himself to play today.
40:34And, you know, it's always a difficult kind of conversation.
40:38Do you keep a guy in late?
40:40You think back to early in the season with Jade Daniels.
40:42They're getting blown out, and he stays in the game, and he dislocates his elbow.
40:46He hasn't played since, so there's a fine line between calling the dogs off and saying, okay, let's live to fight another day.
40:53And also trying to put together a good drive of your young rookie first-time starting quarterback.
40:59And you don't want him out there without as many of your top guys as possible.
41:03So it's a tough situation.
41:04Good to see Mason to his feet.
41:06You know, it was easy to put this whole season on J.J. McCarthy sitting at 4-7 coming in here.
41:11But I think you've got to go back to the flawed decisions that led up to him being in this spot that clearly he wasn't quite ready for.
41:19I mean, they decided after winning 14 games with Sam Darnold to hand the keys to McCarthy to build around him.
41:25It's one thing if you're learning on the job in a rebuilding effort.
41:28But they said, we're going to win now.
41:30He's ready to win now and invested $300 million to the rest of the roster.
41:36Burzmer to the sideline.
41:37Addison, well-thrown ball and a first down.
41:40Yeah, and remember that in free agency, only the New England Patriots spent more.
41:45So you ask yourself, okay, why do you do that?
41:47Well, if you're New England, you have Drake May.
41:49We're going to be young and cheap at quarterback.
41:51We're going to get high-level MVP-type performance from our cheap rookie, you know, our cheap young quarterback in his rookie contract.
41:58Let's spend all of that residual money to build the best roster.
42:02So Minnesota took the same approach.
42:04But if you don't get the quarterback play, it doesn't matter.
42:08Xavier Scott, with the two top running backs hurt, comes in here and is stopped by Ernest Jones.
42:14So now what?
42:15Well, the question is, I think now, I think coming out of this game, Kevin O'Connell and company, they have to say, okay, would this result have been better, worse, or the same if J.J. McCarthy's behind center?
42:27And I think the safe assessment is, I don't know how much would have changed, could have been a little bit better, maybe.
42:32It's been pretty bad today.
42:34So when healthy, I do think you go back to J.J. McCarthy.
42:38If you're going to learn on the job and you're going to take your lumps, at least do it with your top 10 quarterback that you invested in and have a lot of your future tied up in.
42:46And just another snapshot of the rest of the roster around the quarterback, not helping.
42:58Part of it's been injuries, part of it's been guys you normally count on to make big plays for you, not.
43:03I also think the final piece of the Sam Darnold exit and the transition to McCarthy, if they do re-sign Sam Darnold at $30 million plus, kind of the contract he got here, every interception they're calling for McCarthy, every loss they're calling for McCarthy.
43:22I think Minnesota also recognized, is that the best way to get performance out of Sam Darnold, to have him looking over his shoulder on every pass, every play, continuing to ask the question, when do you turn the team over to J.J. McCarthy?
43:39This time he hooks up with Addison, and conversely, Darnold comes to the other end of the spectrum here, where they give him $100 million and say, you are our guy.
43:47And that's no small thing helping lead to the season he's having.
43:51Oh, the confidence that does for a quarterback, young, old, it doesn't matter, when you know you are the guy, good, bad, or indifferent, that is very powerful.
44:00Mason's back in, and a burst up the middle here, Jordan Mason, couple plays after leaving the game with an injury, chugs ahead for 24.
44:10And then a flag after the play, things getting a little bit chippy here.
44:13You have all those whistles, Bowling trying to separate the teams.
44:25Yeah, so Gray Zabel.
44:26No, I'm sorry, Blake Brendel, he came in, just kind of takes a shot.
44:34Peely.
44:36He didn't like that.
44:38He's just knocking guys off the pile.
44:40They tell linemen, so Brendel, he's just doing kind of what he's coached to do.
44:44They tell him, clean that pile up, protect the runner.
44:48Don't let defenders take their shots.
44:50Push, will foul, unnecessary roughness, offense over 64.
44:54But Billy and Thornton, he's worth in the dead ball spot.
44:56First down, Minnesota.
44:59So you get Brandel there, and he's like, geez, I just got decked by a 340-pound madman, and now we're moving back?
45:06Yeah, just to put a bow on that conversation about Sam Darnold coming here, being put in position to be the guy.
45:14That $100 million contract that was so debated, that was the largest contract that John Schneider's given to a player outside the organization in his 16 years.
45:25Said we saw what he did last year, that was half of it, but also the person we were betting on.
45:30Everybody that we talked to said you can bet on the guy to follow up what he did for most of last year.
45:36So much so that they looked past, however much it was clouded by the way last year ended.
45:43So they're now walking Josh Jobe off the field.
45:50Have to imagine it came from upstairs, get him evaluated medically.
45:55I think Jobe's the one who took the shot from Brandel, who kind of came and cleaned up that pocket.
46:01So now the training staff of Seattle is going to take a look at him.
46:05But, yeah, so to your point, when you evaluate quarterback play, it's never which quarterback over the other.
46:11It's which quarterback at what price, at what value.
46:15And Sam Darnold, the wins, the production at $30 million a year, which is give or take half the going rate for the top end of the market,
46:23is going to be a bargain over the next couple years.
46:27Mason, Mason, and is the biggest reason that they're sitting at 8-3, ready to go to 9-3.
46:37And just seeing the end of this play.
46:39Wow.
46:40Oh, man.
46:41That's brutal.
46:43I mean, that's just bad.
46:46He took a direct shot right to the face.
46:49That was the personal foul penalty they called after the long Mason run.
46:55Good move upstairs, calling down to get Josh Jobe checked out.
46:59We've got to hope he's okay.
47:03Under six to go, second and five.
47:05Vikings looking for the end zone.
47:08Instead, it's a fourth interception.
47:10Enrique Rowland has his eyes set on a big return.
47:13Breaks a tackle and takes it across the 35.
47:18Lost the football.
47:19Let's see if it changes hands again.
47:23Five Minnesota turnovers from bad to worse today, but they've got it back.
47:29Jalen Naylor, give him a lot of credit, man.
47:32You're getting blown out.
47:34Been a miserable day, and he puts an absolute lick.
47:39First off, nice play there.
47:44Overlapping there by Reek Wolland.
47:46The fumble at the end of the play recovered by Minnesota.
47:49It'll be their ball, first and ten from that spot.
47:51Watch Jalen Naylor.
47:52He comes in low, knocks that ball out, and he recovered it.
47:57So really good effort not to quit on the play.
48:01Clearly out.
48:02He forces and recovers the fumble.
48:05Brian Flores is over there saying, who's that number one?
48:07Get him on defense.
48:08Yeah, we're having a hard time separating them from the ball.
48:11We've got to put him on the other side.
48:13All right, so first down and ten, Minnesota.
48:16Have not been shut out in 18 years.
48:22Quickly into the hands of Scott.
48:27Five and a half left.
48:33Nerdist Jones down to a knee here.
48:38Holding offense over 75.
48:41Ten-yard penalty.
48:42We play first down.
48:43Brian O'Neal gets called.
48:51You know, we've touched on it a couple times today.
48:53The Seahawks obviously really, really good.
48:5626-0 today.
48:58It's going to move them to 9-3 on the year, which would be just shy of the Patriots for the most wins.
49:02It'll be tied at the top of the division, tied at the top of the conference.
49:06Are they the team to beat?
49:08I think they are.
49:08You know, I think coming into the weekend, the two clear top teams in the NFC are Seattle and the Rams.
49:15And even though the Rams won two weeks ago, I think we all walked out of the stadium saying,
49:19you know, this Seattle team, they might be the best.
49:22And now after the Rams lost today to Carolina, Seattle might stand to park.
49:27Hawkinson.
49:29Well, look, Sam Darnold threw four interceptions in that game.
49:32And if they get a long-distance field goal, they still win on the road, having turned the ball over four times.
49:38Yeah, and remember, that drive started.
49:40Now they're going to, again, they're going to take a look.
49:43I think it's Ernest Jones again.
49:45So they just, he was down on the sideline, returned for that last play.
49:49And now they're going to tend to him again.
49:51But, you know, we talk about the Jason Myers, you know, walk-off field goal that came up a little short
49:57to win the game despite the four turnovers.
50:00Remember how that drive started.
50:01Sam Darnold took the first snap of that drive on about the six-inch yard line
50:05with his feet in his own end zone after that punt by the Rams.
50:10And that thing, five more yards, ten more yards, or, God forbid, a touchback.
50:17And that field goal looks a lot different.
50:21Jones to his feet.
50:22He's had a heck of a day with two interceptions, a bunch of tackles.
50:25Rams, by the way, come here on a Thursday night, December 18th.
50:28And you're not talking just who's going to win the division.
50:31You're talking the difference probably between a one-seed and a five-seed as the Seahawks try to win the division
50:37for the first time since 2020.
50:39They've only been to the playoffs one time in the four years since.
50:42Very similar to the situation the Vikings were in last year.
50:45End of the season, they lose to Detroit.
50:49And instead of having to buy, they go lose to the Rams in the first round of the playoffs.
50:53Second down, 13.
50:55Brosmar gets buried.
50:59Byron Murphy, monster in his second year out of Texas.
51:07Talk about DeMarcus Lawrence.
51:08You could talk about Leonard Williams.
51:10How about the first-round pick from a year ago?
51:12His ability to generate pressure.
51:15You see him right here, number 91, just working school on the bull rush.
51:18And, man, the ascension of him.
51:21You have to just imagine what he's been able to learn from Leonard Williams.
51:27Defensive front.
51:28We sound like broken records, but they're a force against any unit,
51:33let alone a unit down three starters.
51:35Bring in pressure.
51:40Jefferson with a rear touch today.
51:42Burrows ahead to the 40.
51:45Fourth down and 18 coming up.
51:47Quickly, Carissa.
51:48Thank you so much, Joe.
51:49Buffalo in full control here.
51:51Start of the fourth quarter, Buffalo adds a third touchdown of this half.
51:53This time, Josh Allen, third and goal.
51:55Gets a little help from his friends right there.
51:57Bills up 23-7.
52:00Josh Allen now has 76 rushing touchdowns,
52:02the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in the history of the NFL.
52:06Joe?
52:08All right, Carissa.
52:10Fourth down here, 3-23 left.
52:20Blitz coming.
52:21Thomas getting there and finishing him off.
52:25Drake Thomas, the sack.
52:31Four turnovers.
52:33For the Minnesota offense.
52:35They're now a fourth sack allowed.
52:37And Chenin Uwosu is there as well.
52:40Right back after word from State Farm.
52:44Having insurance isn't the same as having State Farm.
52:48It's like needing the experience of this trainer.
52:50Good to go.
52:50But getting that trainer.
52:52Megan trainer.
52:53I'm all about that brace.
52:55About that brace.
52:56No, it's not for that.
52:59Who are you?
53:00Patrick.
53:00I play football.
53:01This is Patrick, everyone.
53:02Give it up for Patrick.
53:04He does sports.
53:06So don't settle for just any insurance when there's State Farm.
53:09Why is no one clapping?
53:10Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
53:13Losing streak is going to hit four games for the Vikings.
53:18A total of 42 points over those four games.
53:22And no touchdowns the last two weeks, barring something late here.
53:26They're going to be shut out for the first time in almost two decades.
53:31Last time they went six quarters without a point because they were shut out against Green Bay in the second half last week.
53:3891.
53:38It's going to be a difficult week in Minnesota.
53:45Kevin O'Connell.
53:46He's built up a lot of good grace.
53:48He's built up a lot of credit.
53:51Both teams now.
53:52Drew Locke, he's in at quarterback.
53:54Both teams starting to take out some of their starters.
53:56Blake Cashman on the other side.
53:58He's been taken out of the game, relieved by Ivan Pace.
54:01But Kevin O'Connell is going to have to face a lot of questions.
54:04They can't figure out the quarterback position.
54:06And really, on a larger level, just figure out how to get some element of production out of the offense.
54:13Because this defense is playing good ball.
54:15These last couple weeks, they've played winning ball.
54:18It's just, it means nothing if you're going to be just completely inept on the offensive side of the ball.
54:24Jonathan Allen with his first, or with a tackle on Miles Gaskin who gets his first carry.
54:28And like he said, they've been just playing a completely different game.
54:31Because they played with the lead as much as anybody last year.
54:34Well, they're 27th when it comes to leading the game this year.
54:38And the whole equation that Seattle's played with this year, Minnesota's lacked.
54:43Two-minute warning and a 26-0 blowout.
54:48More dejection for the Vikings.
54:50Familiar look for Kevin O'Connell and the Vikes this year.
54:53The Seahawks have cruised on the verge of their ninth win.
54:58He's struggling.
55:08On the positive side, the Seahawks on the verge of nine and three.
55:13Drew Locke into the game.
55:15Garbage time here.
55:16Tossing it to Miles Gaskin who's gone from O'Day High School to the University of Washington.
55:21And now to the Seahawks.
55:23Stopped by Levi Drake Rodriguez.
55:24Next Sunday in America's Game of the Week, Caleb Williams and the Bears story of the NFL at this point.
55:30With the best record tied with the Seahawks and the Rams.
55:33And they take on Jordan Love and the Packers coming off the big win on Thanksgiving against the Lions.
55:38Check your local listings for the game in your area.
55:41Only on Fox.
55:43At one, make sure you watch Bengals-Bills for more hard-hitting analysis.
55:46That's the game.
55:49Come on now.
55:50No, but in all seriousness, that is going to be fun.
55:53Buffalo late in the season.
55:54They're calling for a little snow.
55:56A lot of snow.
55:56I know we're a week away, but that feels fun.
55:59You're West Coast.
56:00I'm a Southern living guy now.
56:02We don't get a lot of snow.
56:03We are soft.
56:04But I know Pam Oliver, our Hall of Fame sideline reporter, is probably not as thrilled as we are up in this cozy booth.
56:10But Burrow, Josh Allen, late in the season, that's going to be a blast.
56:19Punted down there.
56:20Price will get out of the way.
56:21And it's down inside the five.
56:23It's the other element we haven't gone deep on.
56:25And no need to with 50 seconds.
56:28But they are awesome on special teams.
56:31It all plays into that margin for error.
56:34You don't have to be perfect to win.
56:37And very few times in the NFL, Joe, are you going to come out here and play your perfect game?
56:42But when you get to play all football, you get the big moments.
56:45There's no best of five.
56:47There's no best of seven.
56:48You have to find multiple avenues to win.
56:51And they can do it with defense.
56:53They can do it with an explosive passing game.
56:55They've had really good moments today running the ball.
56:57And then, to your point, you add on impactful special teams performances.
57:03And you put out that in the bucket.
57:05It's a tough beat.
57:07Sam Darnold does it against his old team today.
57:11And he said it was just another game.
57:12But he got to figure there's something a little bit extra for him.
57:16Led the Vikings to the playoffs last year.
57:18Didn't bring him back.
57:20A bit of a revenge game for him, whether he said it or not.
57:23They have another chance to do that.
57:25They take on Carolina coming up in a few weeks.
57:28One of the stops that Darnold made as he went from there.
57:33Cannot miss prospect.
57:34The top pick to the quote-unquote bust, to the journeyman, to the franchise quarterback.
57:40He's been just about everybody throughout his NFL career.
57:43Mike McDonald, in his second season as the head coach, about to get his 15th win in his last 21 games.
57:51What a job he's done in the shadow of Pete Carroll.
57:564-5 to open his career.
57:58Steady as can be since.
58:0115-6.
58:02Here's what's coming up.
58:03Struggling Falcons team is next.
58:06And then it's tough.
58:07The Colts are really good.
58:08The Rams come in with a key game on a Thursday night in mid-December.
58:12And they wrap up with the Panthers and the 49ers.
58:1626-0.
58:17The final score.
58:18Right back to wrap things up after this break.
58:22Right now, during the Ram Black Friday sales event, purchase and get up to 0%...
