00:01Still?
00:02Am I still the host?
00:03I'm still the host!
00:07That's what the host, yes, still the host, said to open Wednesday's Late Show with Stephen
00:11Colbert.
00:12This, of course, came after the hashtag FireColbert was trending online following his Monday show.
00:18During the monologue, Colbert unleashed a string of jokes aimed at Trump after the president
00:23made comments about the fake media in his interview with CBS's John Dickerson.
00:27Walking out of the interview after calling Dickerson's show Deface the Nation.
00:32Colbert's comments sparked the hashtag, which called for CBS to dump the late-night host
00:36and encouraged advertisers to boycott his show.
00:39Trump supporters called out one of Colbert's jokes, in particular, as offensive and possibly homophobic.
00:45In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin's holster.
00:49Yeah, the hashtag gained momentum online with conservatives taking issue with his remarks
00:53and fans coming to his defense.
00:55Fox News' Sean Hannity even weighed in on the campaign, tweeting that he is against all boycotts
01:00but does believe that Colbert was wrong in his attacks.
01:03He's a horrible human being.
01:04But if you don't like him, change the channel, he tweeted.
01:07And if you didn't change the channel, you got to see Colbert fire back at all the fire Colberters Wednesday night.
01:13If you saw my monologue Monday, you know I was a little upset at Donald Trump for insulting a friend of mine,
01:18Colbert said, referring to Dickerson.
01:20I don't regret that.
01:21He, I believe, can take care of himself.
01:24I have jokes.
01:25He has the launch codes.
01:27So it's a fair fight.
01:28Colbert quipped.
01:29He did go on to say, however,
01:31So while I would do it again, I would change a few words that were cruder than they needed to be.
01:38And he continued with a special message for Americans and the president himself.
01:42Life is short and anyone who expresses their love for another person in their own way is to me an American hero.
01:49I think we can all agree on that.
01:50I hope even the president and I can agree on that.
01:53Nothing else but that.
01:55So what's your take on hashtag fire Colbert and the host response?
01:58Let me know in the comments, guys.
