Transcript
00:00Come before the storm! How is all this not the storm?
00:06Jon Stewart is back!
00:08The former Daily Show host returned to CBS' Late Show with Stephen Colbert
00:12Monday night to discuss President Donald Trump's recent tweets that criticized
00:16unfunny late-night hosts for being anti-Trump and not offering equal time.
00:21The president's exact words?
00:23Late-night hosts are dealing with the Democrats with their very unfunny
00:26and repetitive material, always anti-Trump.
00:29Should we get equal time?
00:30No.
00:31That's not how this works.
00:34You're the president. We make fun of you.
00:36He continued by saying,
00:37I will now be joined by another host, licensed in unfunny,
00:41and that host will offer balance to whatever I say about the president.
00:44He then brought Stewart to the stage.
00:46Host!
00:51Colbert said that Stewart would be the balance, whereas he himself would provide
00:55the counterbalance with his usual unfair slamming of the president.
00:59Colbert began by joking,
01:00Donald Trump thinks we should give equal time on a comedy show even though the election is over.
01:06Kind of like if the Big Bang Theory was immediately followed by the creationist Bazinga Funtime Hour,
01:11starring Jesus and his roommate a T-Rex. Look out for the spin-off, Young Jesus.
01:16It was then Stewart's turn to be positive, but he remained silent before asking for more time.
01:21Eventually, he landed on this.
01:23Donald Trump is not a cannibal.
01:31Colbert turned the discussion to the allegations against Secretary of State Rex Tillerson,
01:35who reportedly called Trump a moron.
01:38Not only is that an insult, he gave away Trump's secret service code name, Colbert said.
01:43Stewart rebutted with,
01:44Given the choice between having hot lava poured into my pee hole and Donald Trump being president,
01:49I choose love, Stewart began with Colbert interjecting,
01:52Positive, John. The latter, Stewart corrected.
01:56Colbert then showed a clip where the president is heard asking whether military leaders
02:00and their spouses, posing for a White House photo op, knew what the photograph represented
02:05and telling them that they would find out if this is the calm before the storm.
02:09Stewart found himself unable to say anything positive and asked what kind of sociopath
02:14would use that terminology when people are literally cleaning up storms,
02:19before handing the mic back to Colbert.
02:21Later in the show, Colbert played a video recorded by Stewart thanking the president
02:25for the honor of being in the Trump Attacked Me on Twitter Hall of Fame.
02:29Pretending to choke back tears, Stewart began,
02:31When I was a little boy, I used to dream at night.
02:34All the teachers would tell me,
02:36You could be whatever you want.
02:37And I said,
02:38I'd like to be someone that the president called a pussy on Twitter at 2.30 in the morning.
02:42I can remember my teacher saying,
02:44Yeah, right, like that would happen.
02:46Guess what?
02:47Yeah.
