00:00Oh my gosh, you look incredible. You look like the Moon Man.
00:03Oh my god, maybe I'm going to win tonight. I am nominated. Just kidding, no I'm not.
00:07When someone wins, you get to come out.
00:09I just kind of jump into their arms, and that's always been my goal from day one.
00:14I heard you say that this is your third VMAs.
00:17My third.
00:18What's it like to be back?
00:20It feels strange that I've been here three times now.
00:24I don't feel like, I feel like I've snuck in three times, that's the truth.
00:27Except there's so much security outside that you can't really sneak in here,
00:31but I feel very honored, I feel very grateful, and excited to watch
00:35all of the incredible performances that are going to be shown tonight.
00:38Oh my god.
00:39It's going to be crazy. This is 40 years of the VMAs, can you believe?
00:44So I wanted to ask, what was one of your earliest memories of either watching
00:47or maybe your first time that you were here?
00:49Lady Gaga, Bleeding on Stage, VMA 2009, She Sings Paparazzi.
00:53One of the most iconic VMA performances of all time, I will never forget it.
00:56MTV just put it back on YouTube, and I've watched it 12 times since that day.
01:01Obsessed.
01:02Well, that's what I was going to ask.
01:03I was going to ask your most iconic MTV performance that you've seen,
01:06so you would say that one.
01:08I also wanted to say another new category is Best Trending Video.
01:11So I was wondering if you had a trending song or video for the summer
01:16that you've been loving.
01:17Well, it's very new, but tastes Sabrina Carpenter.
01:20I mean, come on.
01:21I know that's kind of end of summer moment, but it's been a Sabrina summer, let's be real.
01:26And I'm so happy for her.
01:27Are you going to her concert?
01:29Probably.
01:30Jesus.
01:31I'm sure I'll be at 12 of them or something like that.
01:34Yeah.
01:35Finally, I wanted to ask, I know you had opened up a little bit about just being vulnerable
01:39more on social media and kind of like all the haters out there.
01:42So what advice would you give for other people that are also kind of in the same boat?
01:45Like, how do you just like not let it get to you and just kind of keep pushing?
01:49Oh, baby, I let it get to me every time.
01:51My advice to you is cry about it and post your tears, but also let yourself be vulnerable.
01:56That's really the truth of all of it is I don't think trying to ignore it or pretending
02:01like it doesn't hurt you is ever really effective.
02:04And that's why I decided to be vulnerable and show people how I was feeling about all
02:08of it.
02:08And now I'm at the VMAs.
02:10So things are going okay.
02:11Shout out to the haters because they're kind of just fans, right?
02:13Yeah, they're the reason I'm here.
02:16Where am I?
02:16Where are you?
02:17But also, I am here because so many people continue to love me and show support.
02:22And that's what matters to me.
