Other high-profile omissions from this morning's nominations include no best director nominations for 'Green Book's' Peter Farrelly and 'Black Panther's' Ryan Coogler.

00:00Bradley Cooper may have received an Oscar nom for Best Actor in A Star Is Born,
00:09but he wasn't recognized by the Academy for directing the movie.
00:12That's just one of this year's surprising snubs. Here's who else didn't make the list.
00:16Other high-profile hopefuls left out of the Best Director category include
00:20Green Book's Peter Farrelly and Black Panther's Ryan Coogler.
00:30As well as Barry Jenkins for directing If Beale Street Could Talk and Paul Schrader for First Reformed.
00:35The Academy also failed to nominate any women for Best Director.
00:38In the performance categories, First Reformed's Ethan Hawke and Black Klansman star John David Washington
00:44both didn't receive Best Actor noms, while Claire Foy for First Man, Margot Robbie for Mary Queen of Scots,
00:50and Emily Blunt for A Quiet Place were all left out of the Best Supporting Actress category.
00:55Blunt also failed to receive a Best Actress nom for Mary Poppins Returns.
00:59Nothing's gone forever, only out of place.

01:09Beautiful Boy, Crazy Rich Asians, Been His Back, Boy Erased, Eighth Grade, The Rider,
01:15Sorry to Bother You, and Widows.
