00:00GP SX-1 category, race number two!
00:10And it looks like it's going to be Tixie on the 911 getting a tremendous start and jumping out in front of everybody!
00:20Wow, Cooper Webb!
00:23Yeah, Cooper gets by and gets out front, and now Cooper doing what Cooper does, and that's pull away!
00:32Yeah, and he's so smart, so crafty, his ability to nail that start, and not only the start, but the first corner, then aggression right off the top.
00:41I asked Jace, can he do it from out there? Well, he just answered, he can, and now he gets the lead in World Supercross!
00:47Savace is already around Tixie as well, he's up to second, here comes Anderson on the 21, and now Ombre makes the move to take over third,
00:56and Tixie is dropping the anchor on that 911 and falling quickly back through the field.
01:02And we are about to see a display from Eli Tomac and Ken Roxton, who are both outside of the top five, battling with riders that they're not typically around.
01:11This is going to be a very important first two laps for the number one of the 94.
01:15Here comes Tomac from eighth, he's got Devin Simonson in there with him, as they're working through the field.
01:23And there's Roxen back in the middle.
01:27And the crowd is cheering, I believe Hayden Deegan and Jason Anderson.
01:31Here it is right here, there's Deegan and there's Anderson, Deegan on the blue bike, Anderson on the yellow.
01:37And I think the introduction has been made. The crowd went crazy, Deegan goes by, as we watch Tomac and Roxen.
01:47Looking for the Stark off the side, Vince Grease off the side of the track.
01:51Ralph, we are getting some action early in these races, in the front, in the middle.
01:56Roxen all the way back in 11th, trying to fight his way through.
02:00Meanwhile, Cooper Webb, two seconds up on Joey Savace in the lead.
02:05Here's Roxen around to the outside, cuts to the inside, and he picks off two or three right there in one corner.
02:12This track is racing so awesome right now.
02:16It's drop, oh, Christian Craig.
02:18Craig goes down on the 28, back up and going, but he's going to lose a spot or two.
02:24He's back at 11th right now.
02:26And you know what? If you're Ryan Grease, good on you, man.
02:32Get up front with these guys.
02:34It's not often you get Eli Tomac and Jason Anderson.
02:37This is a great opportunity for him to make a name for himself just in the battle alone.
02:41Tomac to the inside on Grease, gets around the 200.
02:43He'll move up a spot that puts him to fifth.
02:47Grease is not done.
02:48He's going to battle with him.
02:50But as they come over the finish line jump, it's a couple of bike lengths now between Tomac and Grease.
02:55As they exit off the corner.
03:01Here's Anderson still chasing Deegan.
03:03That's a fight for third.
03:05It's Webb, Savace, Deegan, and Anderson.
03:08And Webb is up 3.7.
03:11I'll tell you, there is no mind like Cooper Webb's.
03:14His ability to learn and adjust in between races, execute his start and be gone.
03:19That's just special.
03:20And how about Hayden Deegan now making his way up to Joey Savace.
03:23And I'll tell you what, he is running from the 21 of Jason Anderson.
03:27There was contact made.
03:29And this 450 debut has gotten a little spicier here at race number two.
03:33Savace, that bike dancing around on him.
03:36Deegan gets across the whoops beautifully.
03:38Carries a tremendous amount of speed through that corner.
03:41And Hayden Deegan closes in on Joey Savace.
03:46Man, that rear end really kicking out on the 38 Yamaha.
03:50Deegan is charging.
03:53I like the way he rides the bike.
03:55You know, Ralph, there's this discussion about having to modernize around the 450 and make changes.
04:00He will over time, but he's not going to change who he is.
04:03He comes from that Carmichael, Tomac vein where he rides with everything he's got.
04:08He will become a better version of this, but he ain't going to change.
04:12He has caught Savace and the race is on for second here.
04:16An SX1 race number two.
04:20Hayden Deegan making his final Supercross appearance for 2025 and 2026 on a 450.
04:28He'll go back to a 250 for the AMA championship.
04:31Deegan going for second.
04:33Over the finish line, jump bar to bar.
04:35He cuts inside.
04:36Down low.
04:37He's got him.
04:38Hayden Deegan takes second and looks over to Savace and says, better get used to me, pal.
04:43Here I come.
04:44For a 19-year-old to have that kind of race craft.
04:47He had a big mistake there and Savace goes right back five.
04:51Deegan back to the inside.
04:53Cuts down low.
04:55Big hand.
04:55He's back out in front.
04:57Wow, man.
04:59Wow, man.
05:0019 years old, making mistakes.
05:02That's okay.
05:03So aggressive.
05:04Oh, and right into the face of that rhythm jump.
05:08And look at Anderson now coming up to battle on the Suzuki.
05:12Three riders fighting it out.
05:13Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda battling here with the KTM of the champ, Eli Tomac getting into the mix.
05:20What a great lesson for Hayden Deegan to fight with these tremendous racers and be in front of the pack.
05:27He's got to stop looking back, though.
05:29Yeah, that'll be learned over time.
05:31He'll have to stop looking back.
05:32But right now, I think he's just making sure he doesn't get blasted because he's playing with the big boys.
05:37He's playing rough.
05:38Oh, no.
05:39He goes down.
05:41He tucked the front and goes down in the corner.
05:45What a shame.
05:46And, Daniel, I've got to believe some of that is because he was looking too much back.
05:51Yeah.
05:51And you're not focusing so much on what's in front of you.
05:55100%.
05:55But he is here to learn.
05:57Brian said it.
05:58We're here to learn so many lessons.
06:00Go back and just review those couple laps.
06:03There are so many lessons in that.
06:05I love what I see.
06:07It was so, so good.
06:10Oh, Tomek with a huge mistake.
06:13Don't worry about it, Hayden.
06:14Even the best in the world will do it.
06:15That's right.
06:16The legends make mistakes, too, Mitch.
06:18What a fun race.
06:20And Roxen got around Tomek, who has another bobble right there.
06:24Savace is up in front of those two.
06:26He's in third.
06:27And it's Roxen and Tomek rounding out the top five.
06:30And Brees, he finally gets him back.
06:32After all of that, he gets to pass Eli Tomek.
06:35Wow.
06:35And we are on the final lap.
06:37What a night of racing here at the Australian GP.
06:41And Tomek is still struggling with the backside of that Red Bull KTM.
06:45Meanwhile, this guy out front, Cooper Webb, on a wild card appearance here tonight, having a tremendous run at the Australian GP race number two.
06:55He has no clue what is going on behind him.
06:59And let me tell you, he does not care.
07:01He didn't want anything to do with that.
07:02And that all goes back to that execution.
07:04This man is so smart, so calculated.
07:08Oh.
07:09There you go.
07:10There's a three, a three, and a two.
07:12So, he found it, Ralph.
07:13You asked.
07:13There it is.
07:14Cooper Webb.
07:15Sheckered flag lighting the candles here at the Australian GP with a victory in race number two for SX1.
07:23Anderson, a superb ride to second.
07:26Oh, and down goes.
07:28Is that Craig?
07:28Yeah.
07:29Craig goes down.
07:31Unfortunately, he had a top five finish.
07:33That goes out the window.
07:35Wow.
07:36What a race here in race number two.
07:39Anderson, Savace, Roxanne, and Breeze to round out the top five in this one.
07:46That's it.
