00:00Star Wars Galaxy's Edge finally opened at Walt Disney World Resort on Thursday,
00:09and no surprise, the galaxy far, far away land quickly reached capacity.
00:13Shortly after the attraction was fully open to the public, Disney World was forced to enact
00:17the boarding pass system, or a virtual queue, according to the park's official app.
00:21That meant guests could not just enter the land, they had to wait until it was their group's turn.
00:25At 10.30 a.m. Eastern Time, the app said the foremost group would not be allowed in
00:29until the afternoon. And according to the app, The Ride, Millennium Falcon,
00:33Smuggler's Run had a three-hour wait at that time.
00:37This scenario mirrors exactly what happened when Galaxy's Edge fully opened to the public
00:40at Disneyland back in July. The land was so popular that the boarding pass system was needed
00:45within an hour and used for a good chunk of that day.
00:48The Star Wars land in Anaheim had a soft opening May 31st when a reservation was required
00:52to get into the 14-acre area that features Smuggler's Run and a number of shops and restaurants,
00:57all on the theme of a galaxy far, far away.
00:59For the moment, the land of both parks only has one ride.
01:02A second ride called Star Wars Rise of the Resistance will open at Disney World in December
01:06and at Disneyland in January.
