00:00A total of 201 men were detained during a joint enforcement operation at a wellness center along Jalan Rajalaut, Kuala Lumpur,
00:08after authorities suspected the premises was being used for illicit activities.
00:13Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief, Deputy Commissioner Datuk Mohamed Azani Omar, said the raid took place around 8 p.m. on Friday.
00:22The men, aged between 19 and 60, included 17 civil servants, among them a surgeon, a deputy public prosecutor, a teacher, and several enforcement officers.
00:34The raid followed two weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering.
00:39Investigations revealed that immoral activities were allegedly taking place on the premises involving male patrons.
00:46The two-story center, operating under the guise of a health and wellness facility with a gym, sauna, spa, and swimming pool,
00:55reportedly catered specifically to men and has been in operation for the past eight months.
01:01Customers were charged a 10 ringgit lifetime registration fee and 35 ringgit per visit,
01:06and the center was believed to have been promoted via social media to connect patrons.
01:11Among those detained were locals, as well as individuals from South Korea, Indonesia, Germany, and China.
01:20Police are investigating the case under Section 377B of the Penal Code for offenses related to unnatural sexual acts.
01:29Meanwhile, Jawi detained 80 Muslim men under Section 29 of the Sharia Criminal Offenses,
01:35Federal Territories Act 1997 for indecent behavior in a public place.
01:41All detainees have been taken to Dongwangi Police Headquarters for further action.
