00:01The World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur was transformed into a haven for book lovers as thousands of visitors flocked to
00:07the 43rd Kuala Lumpur International Book Festival.
00:10From avid readers and educators to students and families, visitors arrived with different interests but a shared passion for books.
00:17For many, the festival offered a chance to meet their favorite local authors, discover new titles and support book launches.
00:24So I actually found this event through Instagram but ultimately I was invited here by a friend personally.
00:30I saw a few comics downstairs and a few biographies that caught my eye but definitely I'm more of a
00:36fantasy lover.
00:37Since you're a fantasy lover, is there a specific book that you're a huge fan of?
00:41Definitely a Drazen Kingdom from Bella Chu. She recently released a second book so I'm really excited to get my
00:47hands on it.
00:48I read it about last year. So when I got it, I absolutely fell in love with the characters, her
00:55writing style and how she basically stood on her principles.
01:00For others, the festival was an opportunity to reconnect with reading after spending years away from books.
01:05It's the first time I came to PBLKL. It started from reading books and everything. I really excited about novel
01:13from the first time.
01:14It's just because it's been long since I didn't read it and then it's been back to PBLKL.
01:18So I was like looking back for books that I really wanted from the first time.
01:23And then I saw some books that were published and everything. I really excited about it.
01:28Meanwhile, some visitors were on a different mission altogether, collecting stamps from participating booths across the festival grounds.
01:34Everyone come maybe for buy a book, family time, but I found this.
01:40Banyak. You can go from any booth and get their stamps. Some booth have their exclusive stamps.
01:49So you need to buy something. So you can get their stamps. But others are free!
01:56But this one is so cute because you can get the free sticker.
01:59Beyond celebrating literature, KLIBF also supports Malaysia's Dekat Membaca Kebangsaan Initiative,
02:06which aims to cultivate a stronger reading culture nationwide.
02:10The festival runs until June 7th, featuring more book launches, exhibitions, and literary programs for visitors of all ages.
