The Immigration Department detained 69 foreign nationals, most of them working as guest relations officers (GRO), in an 'Ops Gegar' raid at an entertainment outlet along Jalan Imbi early Thursday morning (April 9).

Its deputy director-general (Operations), Datuk Lokman Effendi Ramli, said 198 individuals were screened, with those detained mainly from Thailand, Vietnam and China.

00:43Between January and April 7, 106 similar raids nationwide screened over 1,800 people and
00:51detained 670 foreign nationals, mostly from Thailand, China and Vietnam.
00:57The detainees in the latest raid were sent to the Semenya Immigration Depot for further
