00:00Emmy winner Kate McKinnon is set to star in a new TV series based on the podcast Joe Exotic.

00:10The studio is teaming up with podcast publisher Wondery to adapt the podcast Joe Exotic for
00:15television and has tapped the Saturday Night Live actress to star. A network is not yet attached.
00:20Joe Exotic revolves around what happens when big cat enthusiast Carole Baskin, who will be played
00:24by McKinnon, learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe Exotic is breeding and using his big cats
00:29for profit and she sets up to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry.
00:35Baskin has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing
00:38to expose her hypocrisy. The results prove deadly. In addition to starring, McKinnon will also
00:43executive produce. A writer for the potential series has not yet been determined as the project
00:48is still in the early stages of development. This would be the fourth podcast Universal Content
00:52Productions has adapted for TV, joining Peacock's Dr. Death, Bravo-turned-USA Network's Dirty John
00:58and Amazon's Homecoming.
