Comedian Dave Chappelle, who famously said Trump should be given a chance last November while hosting 'SNL,' addressed his previous comments with 'Late Show' host Stephen Colbert.
Transcript
00:00Dave Chappelle dropped by CBS' Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and the two comedians
00:10discussed the comment Chappelle made last November about then-president-elect Donald
00:15Trump.
00:16While hosting NBC's Saturday Night Live, he had concluded his opening monologue this way.
00:20The comic later admitted he regretted the comment.
00:28When asked whether now, nearly seven months into Trump's presidency, he had changed his
00:31mind.
00:32Chappelle responded,
00:33Listen man, in the last six months, I think we're all getting an education about the presidency.
00:38I don't know if I've ever heard in just popular discourse people discussing ethics this much.
00:43He's putting all this stuff on the forefront.
00:45Chappelle went on to compare the most recent election night to years past.
00:49I feel like many white Americans finally got to see what an election night looks like for
00:53many black Americans every cycle.
00:56He then compared Trump to former President Barack Obama, saying,
00:59Donald Trump's the other foot.
01:01Good foot, bad foot.
01:02He's a polarizing dude.
01:04He's like a bad DJ at a good party.
