00:00Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you very much, America. We did it!
00:06Saturday Night Live struck gold this week, airing their latest episode the very same day that the
00:11results of the 2020 presidential election were called. Earlier in the day on November 7th,
00:16Joe Biden was elected as the 46th President of the United States, and the SNL Cold Open of course
00:21tackled the whole affair with Jim Carrey in his reoccurring role as the former vice president
00:26turned now president-elect. There are situations in life, and this is one of them,
00:33where there must be a winner and... hey loser. Beck Bennett played Wolf Blitzer and Alex Moffat
00:42played John King in a CNN spoof of Biden declaring victory. How are you, John? Oh, I'm great, Wolf,
00:48thanks. You know, my fingers are nubs, but I think that's normal. Maya Rudolph appeared in her role
00:52as Kamala Harris, who will be breaking records as the first female, first black, and first South
00:57Asian vice president in U.S. history. And if any of that terrifies you, well, I don't give a font.
01:04Alec Baldwin inevitably showed up as Donald Trump, whose re-election campaign sadly failed.
01:09Show them the map, Kaylee. See? So much red, so much red.
01:13Uh, sorry, this is the COVID map. Okay, the map's not important, okay? Put the map away.
01:18The politics-heavy episode was hosted by Dave Chappelle, who kicked off the night by talking
01:22about life before the pandemic. It's a mass shooting every week. Anyone remember that?
01:27Thank God for COVID. Something had to lock these murderous whites up, keep them in the house.
01:33Chappelle also couldn't resist taking a few shots at Trump's COVID-19 response and diagnosis.
01:38Called the coronavirus the Kung Flu. I said, you racist, hilarious son of a b***h.
01:48As far as the night went, some sketches ignored current events altogether, including one centered
01:53on Super Mario Brothers and another sketch that spoofed a local news program about a freak hailstorm
01:58that turned into a local love story. Right, well, at that point, you know, the rain had started and
02:03the water level was rising in the street. And I remember turning the gene and saying,
02:08Gene, we kissed.
02:11However, other sketches were more topical. One compared Trump leaving the White House
02:15to the infamous O.J. Simpson car chase.
02:17Oh, Lisa, I'm sorry to interrupt, but there's some breaking news. It seems the president suddenly
02:22left the White House and is on the highway. Let's go to that footage right now live.
02:28And another sketch found Alec Baldwin appearing as a boss firing Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben,
02:33played by Maya Rudolph and Kenan Thompson.
02:35I'm sorry, but it's just not working out. We have to let you go.
02:38Weekend Update was unsurprisingly centered on election results, which dominated the news
02:48cycle this week.
02:49And I know this isn't really the same as defeating the Nazis, but it did end with a fascist leader
02:53hiding in a bunker.
02:55Kate McKinnon also dropped by the desk as Rudy Giuliani with a reference to the fact that the
03:00Trump press conference on Saturday was held at Four Seasons Total Landscaping, a local landscaping
03:05business, rather than an actual Four Seasons hotel.
03:08I'm glad I made it to the show on time because first I went to 30 Rocks. That's a granite quarry
03:15in New Rochelle. What a nice.
03:18All right, for more on everything that went down on this week's post-election SNL, head

03:25Bye.
