A week after Armie Hammer’s exit from the Lionsgate romantic action comedy, Josh Duhamel has been chosen as his replacement.

00:00After Armie Hammer dropped out of the Lionsgate film Shotgun Wedding,

00:03Josh Duhamel is in talks to replace him.

00:06Duhamel has been chosen to star opposite Jennifer Lopez in the romantic action comedy.

00:10The actor, who appeared in the Transformers movies,

00:13is now in negotiations for the film that tells the story of a couple

00:16that gathers their families for a destination wedding

00:18and the entire party ends up taken hostage.

00:21Hammer and Lopez had been attached to the project since fall 2020

00:24when it was announced at the American film market.

00:27The two were headed for a shoot in the Dominican Republic

00:29when salacious DMs allegedly attributed to Hammer surfaced on social media.

00:34Hammer announced in a statement last week,

00:36I'm not responding to these bullshit claims,

00:38but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me,

00:41I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months

00:44to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.

00:47Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I'm grateful to them for that.

00:50A search began immediately for Hammer's replacement

00:52with Duhamel's name surfacing early on.

00:55Lopez is said to have had a say in the process.

00:57If a deal makes, shooting on Shotgun Wedding will likely keep its February start date.
