Transcript
00:00Hey everyone, you're watching InStudio and today we have the most special guest.
00:08Dan, can you tell us who we have today and thanks for coming in.
00:11Yeah, these are the guests of honor. They're all adoptable puppies from Paw Works
00:15and they're here representing Puppy Bowl. They're Puppy Bowl ambassadors.
00:18Now what can viewers expect from the Puppy Bowl this year?
00:21Yeah, it's our biggest year ever. It's our 15th anniversary, Puppy Bowl 15,
00:25and we're going to have 93 adoptable dogs from all over the country.
00:29International too, we have a dog from Costa Rica from an animal sanctuary down there.
00:33And I can tell you that it is a huge show where they all get adopted by the end.
00:39For those who don't know Puppy Bowl, it's a miniaturized football game played on a field.
00:43We do try to keep score, Lord help us.
00:45And we try to make the penalties, keep them to a minimum.
00:49But everything seems to work out by the end and it's a lot of fun.
00:53That's so great. Now for viewers watching, how can they get involved with the shelters?
00:56Because these are all rescues.
00:57They're all rescues. These guys are from Paw Works here in L.A.
01:00And we've worked with 50 different shelters in this year's Puppy Bowl.
01:03Again, from all over.
01:04So the way to get involved is when you see, when you tune into Puppy Bowl
01:07or you can go online and go to see the starting lineup,
01:09it'll tell you the name of the dog, their breed or mixed breed,
01:11and then the shelter that they represent.
01:13So if you see the Puppy Bowl and you fall in love with the dog,
01:15like you might fall in love with one of these guys,
01:17and you call up the shelter and they're already adopted,
01:19chances are there's other equally adorable dogs there as well.
01:22That's so great.
01:23Okay, what are the team names and who are these players?
01:25So five years ago, Puppy Bowl XI, we decided to start keeping score, as I said,
01:29and we divided them into teams Ruff and Fluff.
01:32These two teams come out of the tunnel ready to roll.
01:38Team Ruff's Violet Vanderpump seems prepared for anything
01:42as she stays loose on the far side of the field.
01:44So the history is that the first two years Team Ruff, true to its name, won.
01:49Killed them.
01:50Team Fluff, considered the Pretty Boys the last two years, they've been winning.
01:54In fact, last year the score was very close.
01:56It was 52 to 47 in honor of Fluff.
01:58So this year, year five, both teams are two, right?
02:03So we're going to see, it's true bragging rights to see who's going to win.
02:06Okay.
02:07And what are these guys' names?
02:09Right.
02:10Hamilton, this is Hercules, and that's Harry Pupper.
02:14Okay.
02:16Working with Animal Planet, what kind of has been your favorite memory
02:20from the Puppy Bowl over the years?
02:22Maybe from last year?
02:23We've had puppies score touchdowns in the most interesting ways,
02:26by, like, leaping over dogs.
02:28Clara is mic'd up, and you can hear that intensity on the field.
02:33Team Ruff's Emmett sees an opportunity.
02:36He takes the toy to the 20.
02:38Duke's left and tiptoes down the sideline.
02:40Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl?
02:42Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl?
02:44Okay.
02:45Good prediction.
02:46Who's the MVP?
02:48I don't know.
02:51He's got some thoughts.
02:55It's the cutest.
02:56Where can viewers watch the Puppy Bowl?
02:58Absolutely.
02:59Sunday, February 3rd on Animal Planet, 3 p.m. Eastern.
03:01Out here, it's 12 p.m. Pacific.
03:03So, have all of the dogs historically been adopted from the puppy?
03:07Every year, have they been adopted?
03:08All of them?
03:09We have 100% adoption rate.
03:10We also have the Dog Bowl, which airs the night before for adult dogs,
03:13which often languish in shelters and don't get adopted as quickly as puppies.
03:16So, we want to highlight them.
03:17We have special needs dogs as well that often have a harder time getting adopted.
03:20Gotcha.
03:21So, we're highlighting as many different types of dogs as possible,
03:22and yes, they all get adopted by the time we air.
03:24Amazing.
03:25And how many of these guys are still up for grabs?
03:27Three out of the six, I believe, are up for adoption from Paw Works.
03:30All right.
03:31So, go online and check them out.
03:33Yeah, they're all siblings.
03:34Pretty amazing.
03:35Oh, no.
03:36Okay.
03:37Well, thank you so much for coming.
03:38Thanks, guys.
03:39We're going to play with them right now.
03:41I'm just going to take them all.
03:43Yeah.
03:44Let's keep them.
03:45You got some ringers here.
03:47Good job.
