Mindy Kaling's coming-of-age comedy at Netflix has settled on a title, and it's also signed a sports icon to narrate the show.

00:01Mindy Kaling's coming-of-age sitcom at Netflix finally has a name and added a new
00:06star to the project. The comedy called Never Have I Ever stars newcomer
00:10Mitreya Ramakrishnan, who plays Devi, a first-generation Indian-American girl,
00:14and is inspired by Kaling's own experiences growing up. In addition to revealing the
00:18sitcom's title, Kaling also signed on tennis icon John McEnroe to serve as the narrator
00:23for the series. McEnroe announced the exciting news on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers.
00:28So all of a sudden, I get this call and eventually meet Mindy and say, would you like to be the
00:34narrator of the series? I say, are you kidding me?
00:36According to the sports legend, Kaling's parents were a big reason why she wanted him on board
00:40for the project.
00:41But her parents were big tennis fans growing up in India, and so they used to watch me play
00:47way back when.
00:48In the show, McEnroe will add a sentimental touch as he's Devi's late father's idol. Kaling
00:53co-created the series with Mindy Project writer and producer Lang Fisher, and the duo will also
00:58executive produce and serve as showrunners.
01:00Never Have I Ever has a 10-episode order and is such a premiere in 2020.
