00:00Jeff and I can't imagine what you're going through.
00:02Well, it's like if Jeff got hit by a car and died suddenly and violently.
00:08Like that.
00:10Netflix's favorite tromedy, Dead to Me, is coming back for a season two.
00:14The dark comedy from creator and showrunner Liz Feldman made the exciting announcement
00:18during their four-year consideration Emmy panel on Monday night.
00:22The first season of the Netflix streamer gave us a hot-headed widow, played by Christina
00:26Applegate, searching for the hit-and-run driver who mowed down her husband
00:29and befriending an eccentric optimist along the way, played by Linda Cardellini,
00:33who isn't quite what she seems.
00:35The role marks Applegate's first TV role in seven years and the actress previously told
00:40The Hollywood Reporter that Feldman talked her out of semi-retirement to star in the show.
00:44Applegate and Cardellini are set to return for the newly announced season two and will
00:49reprise their roles as friends turned enemies turned friends again, Jen and Judy.
00:53But given the way things ended at the end of the season one finale, and don't worry,
00:57we won't spoil it for you, it's unclear if co-star James Marsden will also return.
01:01Even though Netflix doesn't release their viewership data, Dead to Me is clearly adored
01:06by critics and audiences alike, and some even see it as a potential awards season player.
01:10The streamer currently holds an 87 percent rating from critics and an impressive 95 percent
01:16audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, so it's no surprise that it's coming back for more.
