Ayo Edebiri tells THR how she channeled her character Envy at the 'Inside Out 2' premiere in Los Angeles. Plus, she teases that she directed an episode of 'The Bear' this upcoming season.

00:00You voice envy in this movie, and I feel like especially for teenagers today,

00:04it can be really easy to get caught up in that on social media.

00:07How did you think about that when voicing the role?

00:09And also for you, how do you deal with that and not comparing yourself and being envious?

00:13Is that something you feel like you're good at managing?

00:14Yeah, I mean, my mom was always good at helping me break down those feelings when I was a kid.

00:20I remember her just being like, why is it that you're envious?

00:23Like, what is it that you actually want?

00:25And I think when I was thinking about this character, I was kind of thinking about that

00:29and, like, I think a lot of that root emotion is actually, like, adoration, you know?

00:35And so trying to come from, like, that place of positivity a little bit

00:38to kind of spin maybe the idea of the character on its head, kind of where I started.

00:42Definitely, and speaking of emotions, The Bear is a very emotional show.

00:46What are some emotions you can maybe tease that Sydney is going to feel in Season 3?

00:50A lot.

00:53June 27th, yeah.

00:55Anything you can say you're excited for people to see or you have to keep it all under wraps?

00:57I'm excited for people to see the episode that I directed that's coming out, yeah.
