Jeremy Allen White chats with THR on the red carpet premiere for 'The Bear' season 3 and praises Ayo Edebiri for her directing an episode of the show saying, "it was wonderful to witness." Plus, he shares how the anxiety levels of this season compare to the past two.

00:00So we know Io directs an episode this season. What was it like having her on that side of the camera?

00:04It was great. She was a natural. She's really confident.

00:09She's such a beautiful, intuitive performer, and I think that the same goes for her as a director.

00:18Yeah, it was wonderful to witness.

00:20Would you ever want to do that on this show, direct?

00:23I don't know. I've thought about directing a lot before.

00:26It's so weird. With acting, it's something that I feel like I really like.

00:33There's so many people that want to act. There's so many people that really want to do it, and I really want to do it,

00:39and it really feels necessary for me as a person to be able to do it, and I don't feel that way about directing,

00:44and I know how many people would just kill to have a moment to direct, and so, yeah,

00:51I mean, like, if one day the material comes along where I'm like, yeah, I feel like that's my story or a story that I have to tell,

00:57yeah, sure, maybe, but I don't know.

01:00I'm, like, sensitive to telling somebody else's story or a story that I, you know, I don't know.

01:06I feel like I'm not put on this earth to tell in some way, yeah.

01:09You've got enough to do on this show already.

01:11I've got a lot to do on this.

01:11How do you feel, like, the anxiety level of this season compares to the past two?

01:17I mean, it's all geared up.

01:19Like, we're, you know, we're running this, like, fine dining establishment this time, and we're going for a star.

01:25It's real.

01:26Karmie's out for perfection from himself, and he demands perfection from everyone around him,

01:33so the stakes are raised.

01:35It's intense.
