Transcript
00:00It was so great talking to you at the Junket over the weekend.
00:02Did you get to enjoy Disneyland at all and ride any rides?
00:04I did. My mother and I went around and we walked.
00:08There's a Tagalog word for it, paschal.
00:10We don't have an English equivalent.
00:12It kind of like means sauntering and window shopping.
00:15So we paschal throughout the whole thing.
00:18We got some food. We bought some Disney.
00:21It was just wonderful. We took lots of pictures. It's magic.
00:25What has it been like having your mom here?
00:26Do you usually get to bring her along for things like this?
00:28I did for the 21 premiere.
00:32For the other ones, sometimes I invite her.
00:34For crazy, stupid love, she passed.
00:37For this, I was like, you have to come to this.
00:39It's just joy. She's the best wingman slash star to be around.
00:44You know that.
00:46We got to hang out.
00:48One last quick question.
00:49You voiced disgust in this movie. You took over for Mindy Kaling.
00:52How much do you try to replicate what she did versus make it your own?
00:56You know, when I auditioned for it, I thought about the character at this age.
01:01You know, 13 is where you're most in touch with disgust.
01:05That's not good enough. I'm not wearing that.
01:07What is that on the floor? I'm not eating that that smells.
01:10Like, that's a teenager to me.
01:11So when I auditioned for the job, I said to Kelsey, actually, disgust, if the new emotions didn't come in, disgust would run the show.
01:19Because she's like, high school is where you judge everything.
01:22Like, I'm the boss.
01:24So that's how I tuned into it.
