00:00Straight off the plane from London shooting Star Wars Starfighter, right?
00:03Yeah, I got to LA. I wrapped my shoot day on Star Wars Starfighter yesterday afternoon in London.
00:11Got on the plane, landed here around midnight last night, because no way was I going to miss this.
00:18How is it going so far?
00:19It's going kind of dreamily. Like, it's really, really hard. The complexity of a Star Wars movie is unique.
00:26But, I mean, I've got my 10-year-old self with me every day.
00:32It is, you think you know what it's going to be like.
00:37And I spoke to J.J. in advance and Favreau, and, you know, it's a small group.
00:42It's a select group of directors who have had that experience, but it's deeply challenging.
00:47But, man, is it fulfilling like nothing I've ever done before.
00:51We're here for the premiere of Stranger Things.
00:53Why was it important for people to be able to see the finale in movie theaters?
00:57Well, really, there's sort of the selfish answer and then the audience real answer.
01:03The selfish answer is the Duffers are movie nerds.
01:06When I first met them 11 years ago, that was clear.
01:10They grew up revering movies.
01:12And so we've always viewed Stranger Things as an 8-hour, 9-hour movie.
01:16And so with this finale, which is so cinematic, is so profoundly emotional, it felt like the right moment to fulfill their dream of having a cinematic experience for audiences, literally.
01:32But the storytelling of that last episode in this season deserves the biggest screen you can get.
01:38So if you can't see it in theaters, buy a bigger TV and a better sound system for your home.
01:43And finally, on a production note, news of a complaint between two stars on this show broke this week.
01:48How do you handle something like that on set and make sure everyone feels safe and respected?
01:52Well, you just answered the question.
01:54I mean, at the end of the day, that's the job.
01:56You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe.
02:01And so we did everything to build that environment.
02:06And we're proud of the fact that we did so.
02:08And, you know, I've read a bunch of stories, and they range from wildly inaccurate to, you know, there's so much noise around it.
02:16But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family.
02:21And so we treat each other with respect.
02:23And that's always been bedrock.
