00:00Brian Dennehy, the burly actor known for his roles in First Blood and Cocoon, has died. He was 81.
00:06Dennehy died Wednesday in New Haven, Connecticut.
00:08His daughter revealed on social media that his death was of natural causes and not COVID-related.
00:13Dennehy had an expansive resume across film, TV, and the theater.
00:17His long list of film credits include playing Lawman in Gorky Park, Silverado, FX and FX2, The Last of the Finest,
00:25the Harrison Ford star Presumed Innocent, and First Blood, among many others.

01:11He also won both the Golden Globe and a SAG Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie in 2001.
01:17More recently, Dennehy had recurring roles as an Irish mob boss on Public Morals, a sheriff on Happen Leonard, and a KGB agent on The Blacklist.
