00:00Actor Paul Sorvino has died. He was 83.
00:03The star known for his role in the 1990 film Goodfellas died Monday of natural causes.
00:08Sorvino was a father of three, including to Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino.
00:13She wrote on Twitter,
00:14My father, the great Paul Sorvino, has passed.
00:16My heart is rent asunder.
00:18A life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over.
00:21He was the most wonderful father.
00:23I love him so much.
00:25I'm sending you love in the stars, Dad, as you ascend.
00:27In 1973, the Brooklyn native received a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award
00:32for his performance in the original Broadway production of that championship season.
00:37He reprised the role for a 1982 film,
00:39then played the coach in a 1990 Showtime telefilm for which he also made his directorial debut.
00:45During his career that spanned half a century,
00:47Sorvino appeared in such films as 1974's The Gambler,
00:511978's The Brinks Job,
00:531980's Cruising,
00:541981's Reds,
00:561991's The Rocketeer,
00:581995's Nixon,
01:001996's Romeo and Juliet,
01:02and 2020's Most Guys Are Losers.
