00:00Bazaar. Yeah, it wasn't a bad bazaar. It was a wonderful bazaar, but my God, it's just stepping out of time.
00:14I was excited. I also felt surreal, because like, how did we get back here?
00:24It's really hard to time anything, because they'll laugh at anything.
00:28They'll laugh in the middle of a joke. And, you know, forget about kissing.
00:32It's an automatic, like you're the Fonz or something.
00:37It brings my performance up when I have an audience.
00:40In my case, I got to dial it down a little bit.
00:43What do you mean?
00:44I mean, or I wind up going, hey, Roseanne! Come on in!
00:51Yeah!
00:57Because the show has a legacy of being honest, of being bold, so you get to write what you really feel, and you get to say it without censoring yourself.
01:06This family has real problems, opposed to sort of some of the fake problems in television sometimes we make up to kind of devise tension.
01:14And, you know, a lot of shows is, he lost his cell phone, therefore he can't make it to the date. This is like, they can't afford a cell phone.
01:21The problems are so grave, and the stakes are so high, that that makes for such bigger comedy.
01:27I had no worries that it was going to come back and be this different show.
01:31But I was just like, how crazy are they going to get, you know?
01:34Yeah.
01:35I betcha they're going to say the N-word.
01:40No. Nobody.
01:41Nobody. Oh, you don't.
01:43Yeah, and nobody. Everybody said yes immediately.
01:46It was the way you asked.
01:47Yeah, will you do it?
01:49Ooh.
01:55Roseanne is a stand-up.
01:57Yeah.
01:58She's closer to the way I write.
02:00Yeah.
02:01Yeah, totally.
02:02Yeah.
02:03I had the hardest time writing for Dan, so that sort of was the most exciting.
02:06But writing for Jackie is always just a real treat.
02:10You do really have to write for Jackie.
02:12You know, right?
02:13Yes, it's true.
02:14Yeah, anything you put down on paper was like, she's pulling off.
02:17I don't even know what it means, but she'll make it real.
02:24Well...
02:25I can't answer.
02:26Not enough of it, I think.
02:27Not enough working class family shows that show people struggling to pay the bills.
