00:00This program is rated G and considered acceptable for all ages.
00:14Heading into day four. I feel pretty good, but I know that there's a lot of detail work to this build that's going to eat up a lot of our time.
00:23You know, most people would think, oh, it's just a simple deck, but the way Kevin designed this deck to come in together at a 45-degree angle, we do these things to the max.
00:36People are tired. You're worn down physically. You think you're ahead, and then you realize how far on behind you are. It's not looking good.
00:45We're all exhausted. Five, six hours of sleep each night. Early mornings, late days. We're hustling. There's a ton of work yet to be done.
00:54It is a torrential downpour. I don't know how many inches of water in the basement. All the guys on the deck have to stop. This is going to put us back a ways.
01:01Now we know why it stays wet in the basement. We have a grade issue, and my son-in-law, Joseph Falk, he can fix this problem, and he can fix it fast.
01:10You see Kevin walk by, get something, work on this, work on that, and he's just got that 1,000-yard stare. You can tell he's zombied out right now.
01:20Boy, when we needed an army, the National Wild Turkey Federation came through. They got a work ethic to them that matches our team, and they are hard at it.
01:31This could be the thing that saves the day for this building.
01:50The trailer's trashed, but hey, it's the last full day. The voice is about gone. The crew's spent. We're going to try to push through here. I still need another day and a half, unfortunately.
02:06If the weather holds out, we might be able to finish by tomorrow night. I'll see how the rest of the crew is feeling. If they feel like I do, I just want to go back to bed.

02:57Well, here's the good news. We got the pergola on. All that's looking good. The deck's up. We're getting the trim up. The forever barn wood. It's starting to take shape and you can start to see how beautiful this is going to be. The problem with this is we're 80% done everywhere, but 20% not done anywhere. At the most critical point of any build in the world.
03:25At the most critical point of any build that we've ever been on, we're there.

03:43Yeah. NWTF has come through for us again.
03:47Mr. Jim is on vacation and offered to come down here and help us out.
03:53Man, we appreciate you taking time away from your family, away from whatever you're doing to come help us with this. It means a lot. I tell you what, NWTF has stepped up for us on this one.

04:15So we got this fun, woodsy wallpaper we're going to put up here in one of the rooms.
04:24And Natalie here let me know this morning that she was a wallpaper expert.
04:30No, not expert.
04:31So she volunteered to take on this job with me, and she's doing a great job.
04:38We're so excited to be a part of this rebuild for Mr. Jones and his family, and we can't wait to see what comes for them in the future.
04:47Just being able to have this place for their family to continue to enjoy being in the outdoors, to share that with other people.
04:55Take advantage of the land improvements that were made this week, and really, truly enjoy the upgrades that they have here.
05:0220 years ago, all of our grandkids were little, and we just loved bringing them out.
05:08And we started inviting our friends out, and they like it.
05:11And sometimes we would meet people while we're on a vacation somewhere that enjoy the outdoors, and we would open the camp up to them.
05:18A few years ago, we were thinking about selling the camp because I was worried about upkeep and things like this.
05:25And, of course, we had a little revolution with our grandkids.
05:28They didn't want us to sell it, so, you know, that's out of the question.
05:32And then a friend of mine, Don, said you ought to submit an application.
05:37Ron is the kind of guy that will, you know, do anything for you, especially related to the outdoors and the camp and family.
05:45He loves passing those things on to the younger generations.
05:48So I saw an ad in Turkey Call Magazine, and I called Ron.
05:51He'd been talking about needing a new deck and some of the improvements on the camp.
05:54He said, you know, why don't you do it? You know, you're kind of full of it, so you might do a better job.
05:59And so I filled it out. I thought maybe I'd just get him a new deck.
06:02And we started looking online at some of the other Renovation Hunter projects, and we realized, you know, this is going to be a lot bigger than what we thought.
06:09And it's going to be very nice. You know, the cabin was in need of some repair.
06:13And so I'm glad he's getting those repairs and being able to pass that down to his family.
06:18And hopefully I'll be able to hunt there a few more years if he lets me.
06:22Well, last night, Kev said we were looking for a little bit of baseboard, a little bit of casing.
06:26So we put the emergency phone call in, and here we are, quarter to 11.
06:31It shows up in Canfield Ohio.
06:33You have saved the day. Your driver deserves a race.
06:37We're able to get back to work now.
06:39We've got some casing to do on the window in the kitchen.
06:42We have also got some trim to do.
06:44But Baird came through, and we're able to finish the job.
07:01We've got a special treat for our buddy Ron and his truck.
07:07He's got a beautiful Ford F-150.
07:10We thought that we'd make it look a little cooler, so our friends from Torque Wheels and, of course, VF Goodrich
07:17have set him up with some all-terrain TAs and a new set of Torque Wheels that's really going to make that truck pop.
07:24It's going to be part of the reveal, something we've never been able to do.
07:27Now we did habitat. We did structure. Now we're doing trucks. Come on.
07:36These torque wheels are beautiful, and they're tested tough. They're done through the Baja.
07:41So we had one of the boys, Bobby, grab his dad keys, didn't give him any excuses, told him he was riding home with us,
07:47left him the truck, and we're going to decorate that baby upright.
07:50This thing is going to look sweet when we're done.
07:57Well, you guys know how on the spot rolls. We've got 400 punch items to finish in the house,
08:03and we build the Taj Mahal of archery targets here.
08:08And with Simpson's strong ties, connectors, and systems, this is the Taj Mahal of archery targets.
08:14And it'll stand the test of time, there's no doubt. Not to mention that deck in Pergola. Come on.
08:20No.

08:49One thing I've learned with all of these builds is to bring extra panels, because Hal always comes up with other ideas and other uses in the space.
09:00So today, I finally got the basement set up. I got the workbench set up, accessorized, everything looking nice.
09:06And he came up to me and was like, Richard, do you have any extra panels?
09:09And I was like, absolutely, Hal. I always got you covered.
09:11So we're able to put a panel on the skinning shed, so we've got really useful storage there that can hang any tools they need for processing game out there.
09:19And I think we might also put some panels up to flank the gun cabinet.
09:24So really just odds and ends that you need on either side of that, we'll have you covered in the basement.
09:29A little corner here is getting some company now, which is nice.
09:34This is probably one of the things that's going to make the family the happiest.
09:38They've had their guns stolen twice.
09:40They're not going to get stolen anymore.
09:42We're going to make sure of that.

10:18Today it's five o'clock and we have two rooms with furniture and curtains hung, wallpaper up.

14:02I expected there to be maybe a tear, but when the whole family broke out and broke down,
14:09and I can tell you why, it's because of the respect for that man, Ron Jones, and their
14:16mom, Helen.
14:17Guys, we ain't been in it yet.
14:20When you see it for the first time, it just takes your breath away because the vision you
14:25had, not even close to what the team did in eight days, is amazing to just see it.
14:31Just to see it all come together is spectacular.
14:34A contained outdoor space, the beautiful fire pit, the awesome grill, the amazing deck that
14:41they built.
14:42I'm just excited to put some use to it.
14:44I want you to look at this crew, because this is hard for me to say without crying.
14:50These people put their heart and soul in this.
14:54So this is your crew.
14:55Let's say big thanks to the crew.

14:59When I saw what happened, it just dawned on me the effort and the care that people did
15:08to make this a special place.

15:17Our friends from Wall Control put you a great organizer for it on there.
15:21On the Spot brought a winch and solar power so you don't even have to plug it in.

15:29There is a brand new crossbow down there with new bolts.
15:33You got two new blinds down there from our friends at On the Spot store.
15:37The outdoor experience of this, we wanted it to be as good or better as the inside.

16:43It just seemed like I was somewhere else in a zone.
16:47You can tell it's done with a lot of care and I appreciate the workers and the men and
16:52women that put forth the effort.

18:58new and amazing and my favorite part was my parents reaction just seeing how happy they were was just
19:04that was worth it to me and that was just unbelievable we talked to our friends at gray bar one of our big
19:10partners and what you have in here now there's a wilson pro communication system to give you guys good

19:29Mike and camper from on the spot outdoors they provided you with all this product so on the spot store tried to
19:39think of everything you would possibly need from scent control all the way down to the rub for the harvest
19:46that you're gonna cook on that m&m grill outside okay but also we got this safe here your guns we
19:54wanted them to be secure we wanted you to feel safe about having them here so now you have a safe installed
20:00here and they're ready to go stuff like this just doesn't happen to me and I can't wait for my family to use I
20:05can't wait for my friends to see it it's just flat out amazing our friends from bf goodrich and our friends from torque wheels
20:13decided they were gonna customize your truck and put you a good set of treads of bf goodrich all terrains and a
20:20brand new set of wheels on it for you and right here it is oh my god
20:25these are barry wood miss natala they are from the upper echelon of nwtf and they were the ones that came
20:37together with us to come up with this idea to do this exclusively for an nwtf member and especially a
20:44deserving member like you okay all my grandkids are hooked on turkey hunting so and it has a lot to do with
20:50your efforts throughout the whole united states truth no it has to do with you and your efforts I
20:55mean our volunteers do the work we're just there on the sidelines cheering them on I mean we've been
21:00here 50 years because of folks just like you so this has been extremely rewarding for us trust me
